Ugh. No. We moved and none of our dishes or silverware were unpacked so we went looking for takeout and found East Cafe. It was lunch time and all we were really looking at was the menu on the wall above the counter...the lady behind the counter did not bother to tell us there was a lunch menu so we ended up paying $20 for General Tso Chicken and a large fried rice (I use the term "large" loosely). This is the most Ive ever paid for 2 dishes at a Chinese place but figured if it was good then I wouldnt mind. Nope. General Tso chicken was sweet, no spice at all. Just a goopy mess. The fried rice was tinged yellow for some reason I probably dont want to know and had no flavor at all. There may not be a lot of options in Dunkirk but please dont waste your money here. I wouldve taken a pre-made sandwich from the Giant over this food...seriously. At least it wouldve been cheaper.

The food is amazing but the customer service sucks. I walked in, the lady behind the counter didnt speak, it took me twice to say hello for her to say something back, then she acted like she didnt want to take my order. Two minutes later someone else walks in she speaks to her before she could even get through the door and all the way to the counter. When my food comes out, Im sitting on one side of the table, she throws my place down on the table on the opposite side and walks away. So again the food is great, but they definitely need to work on customer service.

Only ever heard great things about this place. Also, Ive been there about 5 times and their food is always spot-on. Great taste and perfect combination meals. If they delivered then Id eat there every week hah. They say they dont put any MSG in their food either! So good quality stuff here. Relatively fast order times (usually takes 5-15 minutes for normal sized meals). Just wanted to update this review, not sure what people are referring to with the service. The ladies taking the order were great.

my wife went there on way home yesterday. General Tsos Chicken too sweet, hardly any spice at all. side of "chicken fried rice" very bland with a sickly yellowish color. wife woke up this morning with worst migraine (MSGs ??) ever. on top of that the employees act bothered, instead of appreciative, of customers. wont go back again! lesson learned..

my family love this place so much. We moved to Dunkirk 2 years ago, east cafe is the best local restaurant, they got huge inexpensive menu and everything ive been ordered from there are good, my hubby and my son are huge fan of their general tso chicken and beef lo mein always fresh and delicious!

The service is not good the women behind the counter act like they dont want to take your order. the food was just ok ...but (which I didnt realize the first time was the place is filthy and I mean if u go in and just look around its pretty gross will never eat there again.

Hot and sour soup was below average and excessive amounts of broccoli try to cover up the lack of meat in their dishes. They also do not provide to go silverware complimentary in the back. ($50 to go order) Wont go back.

Called in my order at 6:39p. I was told 10mins it was 7:43 when my order was ready. Extremely disappointed. Had I been told it would be a hour wait up front I would have made other dinner plans.
