After reading the reviews online about this place, and having been on the road for several hours, my family and I decided to stop and grab a bite to eat at this restaurant. Needless to say I was not impressed. My sons chicken tenders came out half uncooked. My daughters BLT was equally uncooked (the bacon) and the food that my wife and I ordered tasted like cardboard smothered in lard based gravy. The waitress was rude and seemed to be inconvenienced to take care of us for anything including a simple drink refill. When we complained to the manager, who is also the cook by the way, we were told he was sorry but there was nothing he could do about it. I would not recommend this place to anyone....STAY AWAY!!!!

We stopped at Windy Hill Restaurant this morning after a weekend bicycling the C&O Canal. It was exactly what we wanted. The waitress was at our table as soon as we arrived with hot coffee, and we never had to ask for a refill. My wife and son loved the pancakes. My older son thought that the creamed chipped beef over homefries was wonderful. My eggs were exactly what I asked for, and my potatoes had just the right amount of onion (at my request). Bonus: We were there from out of state, and it seemed that we were the only ones there who didnt know everyone else in the restaurant. Still, the waitress treated us like regulars. Im sure well be back on our next bicycle trip.

Food was eatable. But wont run back. Wont even crawl back. We had the baked flounder. It was run by a very old chinese gentleman who speaks english but you are not sure if he understands it so we figured it was really broiled flounder. Nope baked watery flounder it was. Thank god sides were better then the the protein portion of our meal or i would have left very hungry. Service was good and the old man works hard to try to please you. Kinda wish some great chef would go by and teach him how to cook. He wants to make you happy so bad.

The soup was apparently poorly made from a can, and was misidentified as chicken and rice by the waitress. The cole slaw is sweet, which I hate, but thats a personal preference. The rest of the food was overall very lackluster and disappointing. The price is good, so if thats your biggest concern, you can be fed here for cheap. The chips that came with our meal were also burned. I liked them, but they were burned. The best part was the privacy. There wasnt anyone else there.

Our family has lived up here for over 6 years and are tired of the same old places so we set out for little "mom and pop" places with a down home feel and that is just what we found. The food was wonderful the service was even better. My husband loved listening to the regulars talk about their fishing stories. We will defiantly be back.

The place is run in a very family friendly way...as soon as we walked in the man was so kind and excited to see us...he was generally a nice guy. They have coloring books for the kids and have free WiFi for the teens...just an overall great place and I will definitely be returning if we are in the area again.

A hidden Gem! This place is a true diner...the owner greets you with a smile and takes the time to know the customers! The service alone merits 5 stars but if there an extra star to give....the food takes it! I wish I had this place in DC because I would eat here for lunch daily

An unassuming little restaurant a little bit off route 70 with simple selections that are done right. We went for a late breakfast and were very happy with what we ordered. It doesnt look like much but the food is really good and the staff very friendly.

This place was great! we stopped in driving back home to BMore from camping. we ordered the special of the day: fried chicken. It was so good! Huge servings! We each got half a chicken and it was only $9! friendly service and clean bathrooms.

My family stopped here for a meal after visiting a farm in Pennsylvania. It is a small, remote store with a fine menu. Most of the food was relatively bland. The server was very nice and there were coloring books for kids.

We came in with a group of 8 college students from Ohio University on our way to NYC and found this cozy little restaurant. Service was fast and the older gentleman who served us was great. Food tasted great, worth the stop!

Nice local diner. There was one lady doing everything except cooking. And she was on top of it.
