We live near by and go to Marshall Diner once every couple months (in contrast, we go out to eat about 3 times a month). The food and atmosphere is great for a diner, and the prices are reasonable. With that said, I would give this place 4 stars, except one problem, they are not honoring a gift certificate. My grand parents live close by and Christmas 2012 we purchased a gift certificate. After that, the Marshall Diner would not honor the gift certificate for my grand parents. I am currently checking Virginia Law and will contact the Attorney Generals Office. Marshall Diner can contact me if they would like to honor the gift certificate.

I had seen signs for it several times before and I had wanted to stop but I was usually caught up in trying to make good time. When I finally stopped by it was completely worth it. I forget what the main course was, but it came with mashed potatoes. They were potatoes that had been hand mashed. What a great surprise. I travel a lot and come across a lot of restaurants that try to be diners and have terrible, low quality food. Not my experience at Marshall Diner. Whenever Im on I-66 again I plan on stopping by for another great meal.

We stopped here on our way back to Pittsburgh from Carolina Beach. Both the food and the service were excellent. When we got home, we found out that our four year old daughter left her beloved "Monk Monk" at the diner. This is not just some stuffed animal. Its her best friend. The two are inseparable. The owner and the staff were kind enough to mail Monk Monk back to us. Were so grateful for what theyve done and plan to stop there anytime were heading south. Thank you so much!! Wish I could give it six stars.

We often hike on the AT near Marshall and we always stop at the Marshall Diner for a pre-hike meal. Ive been there at least 6 times and its a wonderful little, local place with friendly staff and exactly the menu youd expect. The burgers and sandwiches are great and the breakfast is excellent. Its certainly not haute cuisine but its perfect for our crew and the prices are reasonable as well. Check this authentic place out if youre in the area and hungry. Highly recommend!

I was really excited to try this diner when visiting with friends. The place is small and the staff is super friendly. The food came out fairly quick and the prices are perfect. They also have free WIFI so thats a plus. However, I was very disappointed in the BLT I received. I could barely chew the bacon, it was more of the lines of beef jerky. It really ruined my whole meal since I couldnt finish it. I will note that the food I did see come out looked really good.

a very pleasant "country style " dinner with a very good selection of home cooked favorites. I had the chili cheese fries while my mother had scrapple and eggs. both were very good, although they serve Turkey and beef based meats exclusively (beef scrapple is so so at best) I would have preferred a little kick to the chili but as the clientele is older I understand why it was on the meak side. overall a very pleasant experience

I will defiantly come back here hen I am in this part of the state. Typical diner, there is a wide breakfast selection, sandwiches, burgers and entrees to choose from. I got the marshal burger with fries. The burger was tasty and very good. I loved the sautéed vegetables that were on the burger. The staff was quick and efficient, given they had a full restaurant to attend to. When you pay, you pay at the front.

Good Local Diner for Breakfast! Stopped by after getting gas next door. Nice cozy small town diner (might seat 50 total). Had their Breakfast Special (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage and bacon), good pricing for the region . Pleasant service as well. Food hit the spot, reminded me of my travels in rural South. Id come again if in the area.

Quaint decent sized diner. Has a local flair. Service was fast and friendly. Food was pretty forgettable though. We had the fish sandwich and a burger. The sandwiches were hot, but not very well seasoned, even down to no salt on the fries... That being said, good family atmosphere, as alcohol is not allowed in the restaurant.

My boyfriend and I dropped by after hiking the AT the server was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was very good for the price but really what makes it good is the atmosphere. You will feel at home here it has a good down home southern hospitality feel. I definitely will eat here again.

I stopped in for lunch and ordered the fried chicken. ..absolutely the worst meal Ive ever paid money for....the salad was stale, the mashed potatoes were lumpy and the vegetables were soggy and bland....the chicken was the only edible thing on the plate but just barely....very disappointing

50 minute wait for food from friendly waitress. Chicken cheese sub was hot and came with a lot of fries. Too bad the sandwich had an unpleasant smell and the fries were burned. First time at the diner and might be the last. Should have tried the breakfast. Mostly disappointing.

Food is priced nicely and tastes even better (everything Ive ever ordered). Really quick and friendly service. The reason we decide to sometimes not go there is because of the floor. Cant get over it some days. THE dirtiest floor Ive ever seen in any establishment serving food.

greasy over cooked fried chicken. roast beef that looks and tastes like overcooked potroast. last weeks green beans. bathroom sink was so dirty, I couldnt bring myslef to wash my hands. Go into town. there are 4 cute restaurants where you will fare better.

Breakfast is one the best around and is available anytime. Other lunch and dinner items are available. Our favorites are the fried chicken, turkey and meatloaf dinners with a serving large enough to take home for the next days lunch.

Stopped during a long drive. Tired and hungry. MONSTER salad took care of hungry. Asked a fellow about directions to Silver Springs, and it seemed the whole place joined in with help! A refreshing stop! SIX stars!

Friendly service, good hash and eggs, reasonable sausage, pecan pie wasnt great a little stale. Would return to try the homemade bread pudding though. But overall independent diner beats fast food chain every time

Got a table quickly even though it was Sunday. Had biscuits and gravy. Gravy was a but bland. Bacon was amazing. Nice and thick! Small parking lot so keep that in mind if in an RV or pulling a trailer.
