Ok, so im really big on reviews. However, this time I didnt have a chance to look this place up before going. Me and my sister decided to hit DTA for dinner on a Saturday evening, on one of the most beautiful days we got this summer. WAlking past I noticed how busy they where on top of that the smell floated out the door and tickled my nose like something out of a cartoon lol. We go in and ask to look at a menu, instantly I knew I wanted to eat here. The entire time in the lobby this place was JUMPING, again it was extremely busy. We let the hostess know wed like a table, and just as fast as it took me to say it; we were being seated. Im already impressed at this point haha! This place was packed and ou server was right with us, and her energy was just what I liked out of a waitress! Michelle! I even remeber her name lol, very nice, bubbly... so far im loving this place. Now its time to order... I had the Mahi Mahi fish tacos.. and let me tell you!!! BEST IVE EVER HAD! NO JOKE! Eveything on my plate was perfect from the Mahi Mahi to the Black Beans over Rice Pilaf.. The food actually made me happy lmao. When it comes to Restaurantss I have pretty high standards and this place exceeded them all!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, will definitely be returning soon. 5 out of 5! Hands Down!!

Found ourselves downtown for early New Years Eve festivities and needed to get some dinner. The menu looked reasonably priced so we decided to give it a try, even though it was very busy. We were seated in about 20 minutes and even though we waited a little too long for a server to come to our table at first, the service that we received thereafter was outstanding. The food came promptly for two antsy kids and everything that we ordered was great. Towards the end of our meal I noticed the family at the table next to us gawking at their check in disbelief, but I could not tell if it was because the check was higher or lower than what they were expecting. Turns out it was lower than expected because we too were surprised by our check, given the excellent food and service that we received. I almost never eat at the bottom of Main Street because of its reputation as an overpriced tourist trap, but I would cite this as an exception to the rule and would definitely dine at the Federal House again.

Crab Dip ... Fed Style I am simply in love with the historic downtown Annapolis area. Being able to eat at restaurant that has good food, isnt too expensive or pretentious makes it that much better. My family shared the crab dip - excellent! I think we would have licked the bowl had it not been bad manners. Husband ordered the nachos - tasty with jalapeños that had some kick to them! Just the way he likes it! Son ordered the Pig & Whistle Panini - flavorful and more than enough portion. I got the BLT and a cup of Cream of Crab soup - very savory! Bacon was cooked exactly the way I like it, crispy but still tender. We went on a Sat for lunch and were able to get seated right away. Our server came and took our drink orders right away, and we got our appetizer and entrees in good timing. She kept our drinks full and made sure we had everything we needed. If youre looking for a good place to eat that is reasonably priced in Historic Annapolis, I highly recommend The Federal House!

My wife and I first tried Federal House about 3 weeks ago. First off Ill say the food was superb! From Appetizers to entrees, everything my wife and I had was delicious! However, above all else our server Alec was the reason why we returned to FH on NYE. I can honestly say I have never experienced a more friendly, professional, engaging, and attentive server in my life! Our first visit(a very slow Tuesday night)he displayed all the attributes listed above, On NYE we asked for Alec in hopes he was working during our visit, he was! Alec again displayed all the same attributes as before but this time under far greater stress due to the mob that was at the restaurant on New Years Eve. Nevertheless, he remained kind, courteous, and attentive. Our experience at Federal House has been exemplary and Alec is a shining example of what all people in the serving industry should aspire to be like. 10/10

I went there with a bunch of 30 something moms looking for a good time. I ended up almost getting choked to death and a near concussion after the 7ft tall linebacker bouncer pummeled me to the ground after a shouting fight erupted between me and some obnoxious 20 somethings that were being extremely rude to my friends. The obnoxious level may have been raised after they were offering FREE shots of straight bourbon! Seriously? Not a good idea. I also agree with the "Disappointed" and "Split Personality" reviews in that the bouncer thinks hes a policeman, the doormen think they are militia, the wait staff could care less to serve you (but think they deserve huge tips for pouring you a beer)! When it was Griffins the place was much classier. In fact, I met my husband of 13 years there and had my wedding rehearsal there. I can with all honesty say I will NEVER, ever step foot in there again!!!

We stopped in Annapolis as we were on our way home from the beach. Downtown/old town is BUSY! We read reviews online for places that had good oysters and this place came up a lot. And for a reason.. the oysters were really good! They only have one available (Rappahannock) which Im usually "Eh" about, but these were briny and plump and actually had a good flavor on their own. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the place was fairly busy at 3pm. One of the hostesses/waitresses did seem a little snobby when we walked in, but our waiter more than made up for it. For families, they have a decent kids menu and juice boxes (always a hit!). The settings is in a very old building that has a nice industrial vibe to it. Cozy with some history, I liked it. If Im back in the area, I will definitely consider stopping in again for the oysters and drinks.

Went for new years and as soon as our party of 5 sat down, we smelled the restroom. I guess there is a draining problem. I ordered the crab cake and my food was cold. It also wasnt jumbo lump crab meat like they claim. It tasted fine though. My husband ordered a seafood and risotto dish and said it was one of the worst meals he has ever had. So bad he didnt stop talking about how bad it was for days! This bad food continues with the rest of our party but you get the picture. I also wanted to mention the restroom. Besides having a horrible smell coming out of there drainage system the water in the faucet came out scalding hot! I was so worried that a child would get burned. I dont understand how they couldve not taken care of this problem or at least warned people.

My family ate here on Monday, July 3rd. The food here was pretty good, which is why Im at least giving this review two stars. But our experience was tainted by poor customer service. The hostess seated my family at an elevated barstool table, ignoring the fact we had twin 2 yr olds with us. We assumed then that they had highchairs to fit the table; so we asked our waitress for some and she brought us two... that were 2 ft shorter than the table. With the restaurant busy and having waited 10min for our table, we just sat them on our laps. Throughout our meal, our waitress made it clear she didnt want to be there. She never introduced herself, she rolled her eyes when we asked questions about the menu, and she was short with anything she said to us.
