Lets start with the food. It was terrible. For our appetizers, we ordered the crispy tofu and a roll of sweet potato tempura sushi. The crispy tofu was pretty good, but the peanut sauce that accompanied it was lacking. The sushi had sweet potato tempura rolled inside of it, but the sweet potato was raw and the tempura batter was cold. For entrees, we both ordered the drunken noodles. The noodles were overcooked, the sauce was too sweet and sour (rather than savory), it was almost like a soup, and there was an abundance of canned pineapple in the dish. My friend could not finish the dish and I only finished it because I was starving from a long hike I had just completed. Now, onto the service. When we walked in, the waitress screamed at us to sit down. She proceeded to have a 2 minute conversation with her co-worker before bringing the menus over. Note that we sat about 5 feet from where she was standing. After we got our menus, she kept pestering us to order. When we were finally ready, she started walking away before I could finish my order.... 20 minutes later, we got our terrible food, and while my friend and I were trying to have a conversation, a bunch of the workers started having a conversation with (screaming loudly at) each other. About 10 minutes later, one of the workers left the restaurant and yelled, "IM A GANGSTER. OR JUST GHETTO. ONE OF THOSE." and proceeded to yell from outside the restaurant for another woman to leave with him. I will not be visiting Thai Orchid again.

I really dont like giving one star reviews but this place is so bad Id really give it less if I could. The food is just awful. We ordered 2 curries and the fried golden triangles. The curries were a really thin/watery consistency and the only flavor you got was a strange coconut milk after taste. Dont like using the word gross for food but it left such bad a taste in my mouth. We were going to eat the triangles afterwards but even my husband who will eat anything (seriously), wanted to throw everything out after a couple of bites. I really hope they read these concerns by other reviewers also, so they can change things around.

If there was a rating for Worst i would probably rate that. Worst service ever. We ordered a bottle of Wine which never came until the food was served. We also ordered an Entree of Chicken with extra chicken in it and less veggies, another order of Veggies only. The chicken entree had literally just 5 pcs of chicken and rest of it all veggies. So eventually it turned out to be a Veggie dinner and not worth its price. I would recommend the China Joy which is around the corner on Main street which has extremely good food, service and good portions.

I go to Siam Orchid all the time with my friends because of its reasonable prices, great atmosphere, and friendly service (the owner Hatsana is always there to talk to and is very sweet to his customers!). Our food always comes quickly and Ive never had any issues. Another perk is that the restaurant is open much later in the season than others in Bar Harbor, which typically close after the tourists leave in the fall. Highly recommended!!

We were gonna head back to NJ the day after. So for our final dinner we tried Siam Orchid. I loved the food there a lot. I ordered a Shrimp Pad Thai. It was the best Pad Thai Ive had in my life. The staff there is amazing. And even though the restaurant was small in size, it gives a homely enviornment. So if you are planning a trip to the great town of Bar Harbor, ME, u have gotta go to Siam Orchid. Enjoy!

Below average quality of food . Customer service was shady. Our bill was given to us prematurely without even asking, while we contemplated on getting another serving of rice. They were interested in just getting rid of customers 1 hour before their closing time.

Honestly the best wonton soup I have ever had. Food was super good and loved the atmosphere of the place. We were on vacation so we cant go back any time soon but we will return! Probably one of the best restaurants we went to while we stayed in Bar Harbor...

Hands down the best Thai food my husband and I have ever had. We live in VA, with a love for Thai food, but this place was most definitely the best. Great atmosphere, patio is beautiful and the staff is courteous. Would love to eat here every week!!!

Been there several times and I hope everytime it will be better. It wasnt. This last time I got lunch (crab rangoon and volcano chicken) for $24.02. The crab rangoon at China Joy is better and the chicken was very fatty. Id save your money.

My favorite place ever!!! The sushi is hands down the best. I have tried sushi as far as NH and the sushi here is still the best I have had. Hatsana, and his crew make the atmosphere fun and comfortable. We always leave full and satisfied :)

The food at Siam Orchid was fantastic. The Drunken Noodle and Dumpling Soup were very tasty. The service was nice and the food was served very quickly. I highly recommend giving them a try if you are looking for a quick casual bite.

We sat outside, so I cant speak to the ambiance, except that its outside seating slog this side street was very enjoyable. My wife and I really enjoyed our food, and we would definitely come back!

I love Thai food, so I tried it as its the only one in Bar Harbor. I will say the food is average at best and the place is a bit dirty. Plus, the owner was a bit of an obnoxious twit.
