Each day there are different specials which will include a main dish with a choice of vegetable side items. The quantity of food served is at least average and for some special meals above average. The quality of the meals served is acceptable. The price of the specials compare favorably to competitors. A person can expect to pay in the neighborhood of $10.00 for a meal with a drink. I like the beef stroganoff and the baked pork chop. The hamburger steak with gravy is also a good deal. The quality of the service is at least average and sometimes better than average. The drink glass is big--probably about 16 ounces. Refills are given as necessary. The seating has enough space for big persons. Customers will not feel like they are packed like sardines. The atmosphere is plain. James Grill does not specialize in ambiance. It is a good cafe for a meal that is like a home cooked meal.

Been a couple years since Ive been here so Id thought Id take my visiting family here for breakfast. Easily the WORST service Ive ever experienced at any restaurant. Took 10 minutes just for a waitress to notice us and get our drink orders. We had to share menus. We ordered then our waitress never came back to refill drinks or tell us how much longer it was going to be unless we stopped her. All the while she was eating breakfast behind the counter and the cook was taking a smoke break. After an hour and already complained about MULTIPLE parties having been served,paid,and left behind us, we left without so much as an apology from our waitress. Will NEVER be back. Youre better off going to either the waffle house or IHOP down the road .

Food may be decent, but the service was horrendous. It took 10 min just to get our drinks, then 15 min more to place our order. The place wasnt very busy, but the "Awe shucks, Ill get around to you in a minute sweetie", attitude was lousy. I honestly cant understand how the place is still in business. The manager sat at the check out counter counting the tip jar money instead of helping out the waitresses, what a shame, this place could do so much better, they have no competition dice Ryans closed.

The food is always good but for some reason the last 3 are 4 times we have been there to eat the food was cold well some parts of it anyways they could do a lot better then what they do but of course they got rid of the best workers they had there now there service sucks bring back the ones that did work there because they was way better then what u have working for u now......

Its a classic small town cafe. The service is not quick, the staff is decently friendly, and the food is pretty good. Good prices for what you get. Dont go here if youre in a hurry, though.
