Just moved here from Los Angeles and my wife and I are just starting to check out the Sushi places. I took my wife here on 3/24 for date night. Made a reservation for 6, was there right on time and the place was deserted. We were sat at a table and our waiter "Brad" showed up right away and was cold as a fish to us. The entire time we were there, it was like we were burdening him to be there. Maybe he had an off night. I got the buffet my wife ordered off the menu. I will say that the mango salmon appetizer was amazing, then I ordered the LSU roll (Im adventurous, Ill always order stuff that is not in other sushi places). The rolls were HUGE, very good, the peppered tuna and tuna tazaki were really good too. The sushi pieces I ordered were a bit small, and the ikura was so lacking in eggs I just brushed it off as, the buffet sushi must be smaller in size, and you only get 1 per order, not 2 if youre on the buffet option. I will say the rice was very good. My wife liked the seaweed salad, but the mackerel sushi she ordered was NOT fresh, it had a fishy taste to it, which means that they DID NOT purchase their fish that morning. Then she ordered the fruit sushi roll and it did not come with described sauce, instead it came with strawberry topping sauce, we complained and they offered to take it back but we decided to keep it, it would have been nice to get what was written on the menu. The green tea was a bit thin, it always is, our japanese water guy was pouring the glass to make it greener as he agreed with us. Well be back, I want to try more stuff on their menu as they had A LOT of rolls to choose from. I give it a 3 because it just didnt blow me away, which means my standards for sushi must be higher than those that gave it a 5. Ill keep looking till I find a place that really does it for us to make our regular spot.

Ive concluded that its impossible for their workers to assemble a to-go order correctly. Ive had to-go from here (both pick-up and delivery via courier) at least 10 times in the past couple months, and Ive either received the wrong food or had sauces missing almost every single time (including sauce I paid extra for)! When you call, there is only confusion and excuses to be had. The solution offered is to further inconvenience you by making a second trip to pick up the missing item(s) instead of simply issuing a refund. For example, I placed an order for pick-up and chose a salad instead of a soup with an entree. While in store, I watched a worker put a soup in my bag. I stopped her to let her know I did not order soup. She insisted that the entree normally came with soup. I informed her that it came with a choice and that I chose salad. After further confusion and excuses like, "I didnt take the order," which is hardly relevant, I got my salad. This, among numerous other instances, tells me that not only do they not read their own menu, but they arent even reading the tickets as they assemble orders! That, or they arent taking orders correctly to begin with. Either way, getting it right doesnt look like a priority. It may seem harsh to those unfamiliar, but Ive worked both restaurant and retail before-- Minor or no, if a consumer is told, "This is what you get," when they pay the bill, they should receive exactly that. Anything less (especially over and over again) is just bad business. Besides, come on. It IS tedious work, but its not difficult. Shoddy to-go service aside, the food is great!! Im sure the dine-in experience is great too, by the other reviews. Just check your orders before you walk out because theres likely something missing!

Let me start off by saying that the service was great here. I went on a Saturday and our waitress came to check up on us every three to five minutes to see if we wanted to order any additional rolls. Sushi Masa is not the typical sushi buffet restaurant. You order the dishes you want, as many as you want. There is no sushi bar. Also, be warned, you must eat at least 70-80 percent of the dish before you order another one or you will be charged for the ones left over. What makes this stand out compared to Nagoya, another sushi buffet in BR, is that it offers tempura rolls. If you love fried sushi, this is the place for you! The teriyaki chicken was also quite tasty however I found the chicken to be a little dry even with the sauce. The sushi I enjoyed most was the petite cucumber wrap sushi with imitation crab. A must try if you visit here. I also tried the ice cream here, both the green tea and red bean ice cream. The green tea ice cream is definitely better than the one at Nagoya in that it tastes more like green tea. Now for the cons, I found some of their rolls (the larger ones) to use non-sticky rice which made the individual rolls fall apart. It was a mess! Keep in mind that the service is fast during the weekend. I didnt have to wait more than 3-5 minutes for my next rolls to arrive. However, it gets really busy during the weekdays (e.g. expect to wait 5-10 minutes per dish to arrive at your table). For me, I think I will be sticking with Nagoya for now since I hate waiting no matter how short the waiting time is. Nagoya lunch buffet is around 11-12 dollars while the sushi masa buffet is 14-15 dollars but also includes a drink.

I love Sushi, dont get me wrong. But if you come in by yourself the host will try to force you to sit at the bar. And after telling him that I cannot sit with my back to the door, window or crowd he was not very helpful instead I was told it would be a 10 minute wait so as I stand there on my phone looking around the overview of the whole restaurant with empty booths and tables I am told to wait. Nevertheless as I stand there a male server walks up the host stand saying he had a booth available and is told that its a single party next and if he wanted it?? WOW!! Talking about insulting. Again dont get me wrong the food is Great but this is the second time I come here to eat by myself and this happens. The first time the manger actually took care the situation and had me taken cared but today a freaken Kid is Hosting and totally pissed me off. I will come back and hope to see a change after they review this rating... Cmon people we are people and I happen to be very familiar of the service industry intact for the unfortunate kid who didnt want this single party of one I never tip les than 40%. This is Sad.

I cannot remember being so impressed on my first visit to a restaurant. My wife and I went to celebrate her birthday 8/4/16 during lunch. The place was packed and we were immediately greeted and advised of a 20 minute or so wait. No biggie. Once seated our server was very prompt and courteous and was on top of it the 1.5 hrs we were there. The food was nothing less than phenomenal!!! The variety and freshness were completely unexpected. I must say the Tuna Tataki and Shrimp Shumai were awesome! The combination noodles were just about pure perfection! The Sushi Rolls, I-10, Double Crunchy, Little Tokyo, Shrimp Tempura we sheer excellence! I honestly do not have a single complaint! Oh, yea and the Ice Cream Was Delicious too, the Red Bean, Green Tea, and Chocolate were as good as you can get... There were zero hygiene issues at all! Simply cannot wait to go back! I have found my new favorite Sushi Heaven!!! Dont forget this was All You Can Eat for just $15.95 per person and included our drink and dessert. You will not find a better bang for your buck!
