There is an abundance of places to eat sushi and Baton Rouge, and this restaurant wont disappoint. The menu is varied without being overwhelming. The appetizers and soups are found almost anywhere, but there are some off menu items if you know what to order. (Since its not on the menu, I will not give away secrets that the business may not want to be public knowledge. I feel that an item my friend ordered is not on the menu for a reason - but it was good!) I typically judge a sushi restaurant on the raw rolls offered. Too many places cater to people who will only eat cooked sushi, in my opinion. Wahada has a good selection of common and popular raw rolls. My party ordered pan-fried pork gyoza, seaweed salad, edamame, miso soup, and many rolls both cooked and raw. Nothing we had was disappointing. The only possible criticism I had was the fact that I did not receive as much wasabi as I would have liked. I took my friends, though, as she does not eat it. If you like hot sake, I would suggest it. I am not sure of the brand they use, but I enjoyed it. There was a slightly sweet finish. The establishment also has the big Sapporo bottles! The service was very good. Our waiter got busy toward the end of our meal, but he took good care of us. The atmosphere there is not blowing anyone away, I think. There are certainly more romantic places. The painted sky on the ceiling, though, is always interesting. I would say that this place is great for casual dining or with friends, but not for special events that leave an impression. The price is certainly reasonable, too!

Not a very good experience. To start off, though the people are kinda friendly, there were a few other tables that had the same amount of people and got served first even though they got there after us. The food was priced fine for what it was but it was nothing special. The sushi was boring. The other dishes were a little bland and the meat was EXTREMELY dry. I will probably not come back here and dont recommend this place. My sister then ended up getting sick from this place. I dont understand how this place has such high ratings. There are better sushi places in Baton Rouge just go somewhere else.

Weve been eating here for years. When we need to treat ourselves or dine for a special occasion we come here for the laid back, quiet atmosphere. Always a pleasant experience. The rolls are reasonably priced and are a good size. Try the Spring roll off the appetizer menu, the fried oyster roll in the regular roll section, the Wahada Roll and the Katie Roll off the special roll menu.

I have never written a restaurant review before, but this was absolutely the worst sushi I have ever eaten. The fish was not fresh and the yellowtail roll even had a bad smell. I honestly cannot understand how this place has such a good rating except that its next to LSU and probably serves a lot of drunk college kids! I was very disappointed for wasting my time and money :(

Wahadas great. If youre looking for more traditional sushi its great. They still do all of what I call "fast food" sushi (rolls, etc), but their nigiri is the best. About average prices for a sushi place, but totally worth it. Ask for the "apple salad", its an off menu small crab meat/shoestring apple salad, excellent.

Service of staff was prompt and friendly. Server missed one of the appetizers we ordered, but it was okay, the portions were generous and we had plenty without it. Food was hot and delicious and arrived promptly. We will be back. :)
