Initially I thought this was going to be a pop up of the popular European chain Nando’s Peri Peri, but was pleased to discover it was something else. I’d prefer to keep mom & pop chains near the neighborhood, as this is now the closest restaurant to my house. It was a little chaotic as we entered, surprising given the time of day, but the restaurant was already filling up for the dinner rush. Having only opened two days ago after a seemingly VERY quick turnaround from the former DeAngelo’s located on this corner, it’s not surprising it’s still a little overwhelmed by crowds coming in to try. I ordered the Verdes De Pollo enchiladas and my sister ordered the Flautas, which I tried as well. Everyone received what they ordered except for me, I ended up with the Verdes De Carnitas Enchiladas. No big deal, it was loud and I’m sure our waiter just misheard my order, it was my second choice anyway. I expect once the wait staff familiarizes themselves with the new menu things will be locked down a bit better. The Verdes De Carnitas Enchiladas were pretty good, not the best distribution of ingredients, the cheese seemed to be on one side hiding from the meat, the rice was excellent, and the refried beans were fine, but a little overly sweet. The Flautas on the other hand, were pretty much Crunchy to the point of being questionably burnt and tasteless as to the interior. Chips and Salsa were served before the meal, as well as an avocado based jalapeno dip, not a spicy guac, but something akin to it. Both were good! The rest of the family had similar sentiments. Their food was decent, but needed some fine tuning. My father also got Enchiladas, and his was lukewarm compared to the rest of the items on the plate. Staff was incredibly friendly, quick to service and amicable. The seating arrangement was a little too tight I think. Conversation from tables adjacent to us was a little loud, and getting in and out of the dining area was difficult as many waiters were blocking aisles and each other from getting in and out of the kitchen and foyer. I’ve been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge for quite a while, and having enjoyed Ninfa’s some years ago, when the owner of Nando’s took residency here, I was excited at the prospect. I hoped that former experience would be renewed. It’s not quite as I remember, but I think in large part that’s due to the newness of the restaurant. I intend to come back in a month or so and try it again, once they’ve settled in and worked out the kinks.

I was very excited to try a new Mexican place, its my favorite food. I was wayyyyy less than dissatisfied. For an appetizer I ordered queso and it tasted like it was out of a jar and I did NOT enjoy it. For my meal i ordered shrimp tacos (my favorite) and only took 2 bites before calling it quits. The food tastes terrible. The rice and beans werent even good. not to mention the rest of the day I did not feel well and 3:15 AM and Ive been throwing up for 3 hours. Nandos was the only food I ate today so Im assuming its food poisoning. Im mortified by my experience and will not be back.

Our favorite Mexican joint had a big crowd, so we decided to try Nandos. We had been there once before -- the menu was new, the place was fresh, and the food was excellent. This time however; we were a little bit disappointed. The menu has completely changed since our last visit. Our favorite dish was no longer on the menu. And prices had risen Significantly. Mexican food is notoriously reasonable in price, so we expected it to be the same this time. The food was good but it was way too expensive for what it was. I dont think we will be going back again.

So disappointed! Paid $10 for about a 1/4 cup of queso that tasted like it was out of a jar, and 13 chips. Called the manager who transferred us to the OWNER who did nothing to rectify the situation all he did was list off he ingredients which we already knew, they were listed on the menu. And told us to come back another time. Not worth your time! Instead theres a Mexican food truck on Jefferson and tiger bend that parks next the the gas station and they give you way more than your monies worth!! Theyre delicious!

First time and will be the last. To start the table was sticky and dirty, we arrived at 11AM so it seems likely that it was not cleaned from the night before. My chair was so dirty I switched it out with one from another table. The chips tasted like old oil, the salsa was watery with not much flavor. The food was mediocre at best. The tile floor by the bar area was VERY sticky. This place needs some scrubbing. Dont want to know what it looks like behind the scenes....

Authentic Mexican food that is better than most in Baton Rouge and the best in the area. Still, like a majority of restaurants in Baton Rouge it lacks foresight with waiting on people.... Somethings you shouldnt have to ask for.... Like napkins when kids are present or when you particularly order a meal that may be messy. Also failure to clear a small table when one course is finished to make more space.

Its VERY OILY. Ive tried this place 4 times because I live right behind the Resturant in Hickory Ridge subdivision and I dont know if its the meat or cheese but there is SOO much oil and grease dripping from my sons tacos. Its not very good. And the Fajitas are just so so. Not much flavor and the salsa is like water.. Im sorry but I am just being straight up.

This is our familys favorite restaurant. The food is authentic Mexican, and is always excellent. You can tell they always use the freshest ingredients. We have tried almost everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant. Nando, I applaud you and your team. Thank you for raising the bar for Baton Rouge restaurants.

At here for lunch and it was very disappointing. The chips tasted old and stale, the salsa was very watery, and the food was all so terribly bland. This place is FAR from authentic, so steer clear if youre looking for delicious, flavorful Mexican food because you wont find it at Nandos.

We passed up four different Mexican restaurants to go to this one, boy what a disappointment... when we went in they gave us a small crammed booth with a crooked table to seat 5 people. When went went up to ask them for a different table witch they clearly had, it was not given to us.

Loved the décor, the location is great. Easy to get in and out. We tried the beef fajitas, the portion size is much smaller than most Tex-Mex restaurants. The price is on the top end of what most charge, especially at lunch. Overall we were disappointed.

Finally! Good Mexican in Baton Rouge! Im a native Texan and I went to school in New Mexico, and I can tell you that Nandos is on par with some of the best Tex-Mex and Mexican food Ive had! Great service and friendly staff, too.

The food was horrible. The service was OK, lots of noise. Employees walking around in pajamas going behind the bar getting drinks. Turning lights out with guest in the restaurant. I wouldnt recommend this place anyone.
