I can easily give this restaurant five stars even though there earned ten! The staff is awesome. Very helpful and patient to make sure you have what you need. The food, beyond amazing! I simply didnt take any pictures because I was too busy enjoying the food. I had grilled chicken nachos with rice instead of chips. This was so good that I couldnt even put down my fork. The salsa... Their salsa is on another level of what we as Americans have learned to love. Thir salsa is literally the best Ive ever had and I regularly travel 5 states in the southeast that have the best of the best Mexican restaurants. I spoke with my waiter and he said this salsa is the same that his mother makes in Mexico, which I believe, is the absolute best! Better than any fresh or bottled. I suggested to them that they should start selling their salsa at grocery stores. No kidding, it would be the best seller. Ok, enough about salsa, I need to lay down and drift into a food coma. I went with my two sisters and our two babies. Id never gone before. We all ordered the make your own combo lunch plate. If youre interested in eating overly salted shoe rubber for beef then this is the place for you. The red sauce I requested on my burrito had a sickening sweet salad dressing taste to it. The tostada (all three of us ordered) was so nauseating from the excess amount of cilantro and previously mentioned beef that none of us could take more than a couple bites. Service was awful. He barely came to the table and when my sister turned in her receipt the waiter handed it back and said, "arent you going to leave a tip??" (we had paid the tip on the other two checks) Ive worked in restaurants before and we were taught to NEVER ask that. If you do a good job you wont have to try and guilt trip your customers to tip you. Its pretty sad when the only good thing about the experience at Papis is the peppermint as you walk out the door.

I tried the Taco Salad at the one in Denham. 1. The were tearing up the floor behind the bar during services hours alot of rakkit and dust floating around. 2. Gave the server a 20 for the order and she had to find a waiter that had change for it. 3. The food sucked, by the time I got back to my office, which was less than a mile down the road) the food was soggy like it was microed cold and undesirable!!!! The wait wasnt long( i guess due to the fact that it only took a couple minutes to pop in the Microwave!!!) and the Waitress that did serve me was polite and quick getting my order out. Its a great place to go if you like quick service but for a $10 salad ( after tip) it would seem the food would come out fresh and hot and not cold and soggy. I do feel a upset stomach coming in a few minutes, could not eat even half of it. Waste of time and money, couldve went to taco hell and got better food....

Ive went in there 3 times within the last week. I didnt tip because the service was a joke, well today i went in and could tell they were laughing and looking back at me when i was eating, i could tell something was wrong with my food as i know they did something to it. I dont recomment eating at papis for obvious reasons. I mean ive the staff would be busy checking on customers instead of gathering up by the bar laughing amongst themselves they might make a little more money. I can speak from experience as i use to be a bartender a while back. I never came home with less than 200.00 because i undersood customer service and not once did i put something odd in a customers drink.

We went to this place twice and it was not so bad. Introduced it to my dad and then him and my 2 sisters went and had a horrible experience. Food came out very late and cold! Wife and I went over the past weekend. After being seated for 5 minutes we had no water, no chips and salsa and no patience! What happened to the 4 servers watching us get seated? Got up and left and went to LaCarrettas. Immediate service even though they were slammed. Food came out timely and was good! We wont be back to Poopies!

This is thee place to go in the Baton Rouge area for great Mexican food or just a great fun time. I travel from Alabama to Louisiana about twice a year to visit friends and family and I have never missed the opportunity to go to Papis (formerly Fernandos). The food is awsome and people there are awsomer. They have great service and a fun authentic atmosphere. They have great parties and festivals for various holidays and special events. Dont miss out on this place !! Have Fun !!!

Upon entering the restaurant with my girlfriend, I was greeted by the hostess. She asked if my girlfriend and I were the only two in our party, and I responded with, "Yes maam." She promptly told me not to call her "maam" in a rude manner like it was a hurtful gesture. My only other complaint was the the tables were too large and that I felt I was at a completely different table than my girlfriend. Other than that, the food was excellent and the service was great!

Dined there last week. Theyre usually good, as I frequently order burritos, etc. Really wanted a steak, so I ordered the 16oz ribeye. I cant believe they actually charge $23 for this piece of garbage. Toughest and most flavorless "steak" Ive eaten. I dont usually send things back, so I didnt. I didnt want to embarrass my daughter, so I just ate the beans & rice. The steak fajitas have to be equally as horrendous.

OMG I thought this used to be a great place before the flood and have went back a few times since....But after today I hope I never go there again...I do plan on contracting the Ower tomorrow if possible...Hate to see a good place go bad to to the employee .. They just dont seem to care ..So sad when they look at you like there 2a problem when all you want is for them to actually do there job.. .

Came to eat with family and my family members liberty card was denied on cinco de mayo may 5th. The employee quickly said we do not honor the liberty card on cinco de mayo. In the liberty card pamplet it states eligable restaurants and businesses.But it does not say anywhere on certain days it is not honored for certain particiapants for the liberty card this is very UNPROFESSIONAL.

Im a big fan of Papis. The Hungry Plate for two will feed at least three people - or two large, hungry people (hence the name, I guess). We got the margaritas on the rocks and were pleasantly surprised to find them made nice and strong, considering they are made in very large batches. Overall, I would highly, highly recommend as a far better than average Tex-Mex joint.

Great little place to grab something to eat before getting back on the road after a couple hours at Bass Pro Shop. Fajita dinner plates looked and smelled good, but more than we were willing to spend after shopping all day (avg. Of 15 per EA). Excellent service, nice atmosphete, might try fajita plate next time Im up this way.
