They guided us to the seating area, and then had us stand there while they finished their argument over which server was working which section. The decor is cute, in a hunting/fishing camp, LSU sports-memorabilia, wood panel sort of way. Server didnt know the beer list, and there was no menu. She returned with a hand-written list, mostly mundane macro brews, plus a few Abitas and (I think?) one other local, maybe Tin Roof. I order the hamburger first thing in 95% of restaurants. Didnt happen here. When asked, the server checked with the kitchen: the hamburger wasnt made in-house, and hed only cook as low as medium. I was still pondering giving it a shot - after all, if seasonings, toppings, and bun work out okay, it can still be tasty. Thankfully, I saw one pass by to another table; the bun was just a grocery store bun, so between that and the guaranteed overcooked meat, I took a pass. The spinach and artichoke dip was super good. I like to see lots of artichoke in my dip, and this had huge chunks of creamy artichoke, cooked all the way through. Kudos there. I had the roast beef poboy. Bread seemed fairly fresh, but both the bread and the well-done meat were seemed strongly Sysco-type quality (delivered by restaurant supply company, not made in-house). My partner had one of the specials of the day (according to the board): blackened red fish, with vegetables. This was a step better than my roast beef, but still not good. The fish was served super hot; by the time it was cool enough to eat, the pool of oil it was served in started to gel at the edges. I found it salty - and I really like salt. Overall, I generally think that Ill give a restaurant multiple tries if I think I had a bad experience that could be corrected; here, I think I had an accurate experience: uninspired, cheaply prepared food. Unfortunately the prices were comparable with nearby City Cafe, which blows this joint out of the park on meal quality.

Typically the lunch specials are reasonable and well prepared. The menu has all the local favorites and a few unexpected items. Not usually crowded and service is pretty good. At the end of the day it is a good place to hang out and unwind. My only real issue with this restaurant, other than the parking area being hard to get in and out of, is the fact that they find it necessary to drape a giant American Flag across the main entry way from the front parking lot. Im sure it was a wonderful gesture and in new condition when it was first placed there, but, now it has become dirty and disheveled and constantly flaps and wraps customers up as they attempt to enter. As a veteran I find this particularly disturbing. I have commented on this, and the fact that this could actually be hazardous to elderly people, several times while patronizing this location. The wait staff doesnt understand the reluctance in its removal or relocation. The latest excuse for it being there is that it blocks the bright sunlight from the hosts station. Problem is there is never anyone at that station. They suffer the comments daily. The worse the condition of the flag gets the less desire I have to view its deplorable condition, and my mother in law refuses to have her glasses slapped from her face by it again. This isnt just a small flag on a stick, this flag completely covers the double wide entry area from post to post and beam to concrete. Love of America and the flag that represents us is a great thing. Disregard for the condition of the symbol of a Great Nation is just callous.

Party of 4 totally ignored by servers who seemed more interested in setting up for a big party coming in than the smaller tables. We sat wherever we wanted the restaurant was not crowded which should have been a clue. We finally had to flag down the wait staff at which point they couldnt decide who should be our waitress. Our order was taken and it took forever to get our food. Our order was not complete when we were served we were missing 2 salads and a soup. Never got the salads and after getting our entrees the soup was brought to the table. The presentation of our food was so bland, not appealing at all. The people at the table behind us just got up and walked out and the restaurant was not busy at all. The wait staff was obviously poorly trained. Awful experience. We were given a discount and a free dessert, I would have preferred better service and food. We will NEVER revisit this restaurant again.

Oysters were healthy sized and other food was tasty. And thus the two stars. However the service in the cafe section was absolutely horrible. Had to ask 4 times for water refills, another customer spilled pasta on the floor next to our table we pointed it to waitress so she wouldnt slip she acknowledge said thanks and proceeded to leave it there the entire rest of our meal. Someone else came by 5 min before we left "sweeping" and proceeded to sweep up a few dry crumbs around it. Had to hunt down our own crackers when fist basket ran out and get our own Togo containers. We were nearly the only table and the waitress could not be bothered with us.

Went here today for a late lunch with a great friend. We had such a lovely visit and a delicious meal. We were so excited to discover this gem of a restaurant. The vibe of the business was cool and relaxed. Plenty of outdoor seating, which is always fun. Feels like a great place to go before an LSU football game. The food was delicious. We ordered a roast beef poboy and a hamburger with fries and onion rings. It was all so tasty! Our server was so nice and personable. We will definitely be back.

A great little place with decent food and a good selection of TVs. It seems to be a local go to in the area. What keeps bringing me back in is the cheap beer prices. Before I found this place we used to go to places like Hooters to watch the game. Now we go here and enjoy spending less and having a good view to watch the game. A buddy I didnt even think knew this place existed even had a baby shower here. They provided a special menu to accommodate us which was nice.

The grilled oysters were great. Though the waitress forgot us for the first ten minutes, didnt refill the drinks, didnt know the beer menu, didnt bring out the entire dishes and was extremely hard to get her attention. We were the third party in the cafe and very few at the bar. Slow day, small to medium parties. Bathrooms were clean and staff was overly friendly with each other. Will return for the oysters only. Everyone has a bad day once in a while.

We had this recommended by some friends and we drove for an hour to get there and guess what! According to the lady behind the bar the owner had called and told them to close early!!! Over an hour early and we were turned away with no more than we are closed by the owner and you have to leave!!!! I will not recommend this place since obviously their hours do not mean anything to them! You may be like us and turned away with no more than go!!!!
