My husband and I ate here for lunch today and it was our first time to Asuka. Average food, but horrible service. With it being our first time we were unaware that they close at 2p and then reopen for dinner. When we finished our food it was 2p. We were enjoying our time together and chatting when a gentleman who works there approached our table and said, "Do you need a box or something? We closed at 2p". We then got the obvious hint he wanted us to leave. I want to first start off by saying that I was a waitress for 7 plus years and my husband is a GM for a local restaurant. We both understand the annoyance of customers staying passed closing. But at the same time they are the customers, and the staff at the restaurant are to make the customers experience enjoyable. Needless to say I would not recommend spending $40 on lunch to be treated with utter disrespect. Next time we will be taking our business across the street to Joy Foods. #Mistake #NeverAgain #Unprofessional

Only one star to seaweed salad. But as a seaweed lover, I havent had a bad one in a single Japanese restaurant. We ordered unadons but replaced the meat with eel. The quality of the rice was really bad. Or at least it was not freshly steamed. They placed some pickle vegetables together with the eel over the rice, which totally ruined the taste. This is not the worst. When I suggested the waiter skipping over the pickle part, he asked me if I am Japanese because he used to work at some Japanese restaurants and everyone did the same thing?! And he havent heard about any complaints on the rice from other customers?! WHAT A WONDERFUL RESPONSE!!! All right, to be objective, the rice and unadon are much much better at Sugano and Osaka. Ill never come back to this So-called Authentic Japanese Restaurant!

Worst sushi restaurant in Lexington. Never eat here, anyone who writes in their review that this place is the best, is obviously associated with the restaurants profit margin. I ordered spicy salmon, and what I got was a roll with smashed and reconstituted salmon paste slathered in Japanese mayo. It was truly disgusting. This restaurant is a cheap and disgusting imitation of Japanese cuisine. All of the rolls were covered in mayo and the quality of fish was that of catfood. It was Terrible, never again.

Strange to see this restraunt has bad reviews! I have been coming here for Years and I always have a wonderful experience! I have been to other places and didnt like them as much as I do this restaurant...... I deff recommend them to diff people all the time and bring different couple friends and family so they can try their food. It is pricey but in my experience worth it! I would eat here once a week if I had the money to do so

Great hibachi! Our hibachi chef was very personable and funny. Lunch specials are only on weekdays, so if you go on weekends you get dinner pricing. You get good portions and its tasty. Steak and salmon were good. They give you shrimp on panko and garlic which was okay. Extra rice is $3. Our server was attentive, though we did wait a little bit to be seated when we walked in because host was tied up. Would definitely come back.

Worst service! We had to clear our own dishes, go to the bar to order drinks, and even the chef had to get someone to clear dishes. Then because we were with a party we were charged a mandatory 18% gratuity. I talked to the manager and he just didnt care. For a family of four to pay $260.00 for dinner where the service sucked and the manager didnt even care is disgraceful! What a nasty establishment!

Reviews can be mood driven. Read the bad ones w an open mind. Our family has been coming here for years. EVERY TIME they have given us great food and memories that will last a lifetime. We go for the EXPERIENCE. Kids are treated like they are @ Disney World... Take your family ,take your clients. Thank you Asuka for a lifetime of memories... The Fletchers

Habachi grill experience is fun, the chefs are very entertaining and the food is plentiful and delicious put the yum yum sauce on everything. Love to go here and not sit at habachi also. Their sushi is some of the best in central KY. Derby roll is my favorite but I have not had a roll that I didnt like from here

Great hibachi, all the chefs are very entertaining and the food is excellent. Sushi is good with a nice selection of rolls. Ordering off the menu is great as well but sometimes service in the dining room can be lacking especially when busy. Servers working very hard but they seem understaffed.

We usually like this place a lot but our recent visits have had lackluster service. A few weeks ago I called when they opened and made reservations for 7:30pm. We didnt get seated until 8:15. The excuse was that they were behind because of the UK game (they played at 1pm that day).

Best Sushi in Lexington!!!!! This is our favorite place to eat and there is always something new to try on the menu! Prices are reasonable and the staff is wonderful. The atmosphere is authentic and very clean. I recommend Asuka to all my friends.

Gone down hill in recent months. Sushi rolls literally half the size they were. Really disappointing seeing as we used to frequent this place for the lobster and TJ roll often but have since found Zen Sushi as a filling and talented replacement.

It wasnt the worst Ive ever had, but it wasnt good. The sushi didnt have much flavor and the scallops seemed low quality. The calimari and salad were ok. You get much better food at Miyako. Ill only go back if thats where my group wants to go.

2nd time there and still not impressed. Last night the service was very poor on top of a sub standard food quality. Had to wait 4-5 minutes for my soup spoon and we ran out of drinks several times. For the price I expect a whole lot more.

My wife and I usually drop in for sushi Wednesdays. The food is always delicious and service is fast and friendly! As for hibachi, weve only been once for my birthday and I was fairly lit upon arrival. It was a great time though!

They brought my food out on the same plate as a complete strangers meal and gave us hell for wanting our meals seperate. Management is the worst Ive ever seen. Talked to owner Henry about it... Waste of breathe.

I went to Asuka the other day and tried the Hibachi. The service is slow, and the food was mediocre. Too much garlic in the food. After my several visits, I have decided there are better options around town.

A favorite hibachi place! The staff is very friendly. The cook always puts on a great show at the hibachi table, even when its only 2 people, late at night! The habachi and sushi are really good.
