The atmosphere and decor were exquisite. Similar to previous reviews, the restaurant is nearly renovated and its just lovely. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box and it is an excellent value. The quality and flavor were on-point. My partner ordered the pork ramen, and it was very well seasoned, though he personally prefers a little extra spice. The service was fantastic, while we were being seated the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated at the bar first, then asked if we would like something else because she was worried that we might be too cramped (the bar only had 2 available seats at the time), it was very thoughtful of her to ask and I greatly appreciated her level of care. I definitely will be returning to try the rest of their menu!

Had sushi to go. Spicy tuna crunch roll, spicy girl roll and shumai. The shumai was good. The spicy tuna roll had no crunch, was not spicy, and came in a container that appeared to come from a grocery store or gas station...little peice of fake grass diving roll from wasabi and all. I am sure it came from grocer just down the strip. Tuna was ground/pureed and roll was gross and lifeless. The spicy girl roll seemed fresh made. It also had pureed fish. The sauces were tasty. The roll overall not so tasty due to the consistency of the tuna. Overall I am not very impressed. I love sushi and eat it often and have had sushi from all over the globe. Waited in restaraunt while meal being prepared. Place has nice atmosphere and cool decor.

I have never been so disappointed in tonkotsu ramen in my life! Noodles were from a package, broth was bland, and the egg was overcooked. The veggies were ok and made it possible to finish the dish (only because I hate wasting food). Had I only purchased ramen, I would have given Katana a one star (something I rarely do). Now the 4 star part: the sushi was really quite good for the price and the Lafayette area. There isnt the attention to detail that you get from a Japanese sushi chef but the rolls were solid and the night that we went, the fish was relatively good quality. We will be returning, but only for the sushi.

Everything I was excited about was meh, and the stuff I wasnt expecting much of were pretty good. The sushi was bland, and it tasted like the ingredients were not fresh. I tried 6 different rolls over the span of a week and none of them were...good. I had to force myself to finish them. The texture was off. The udon was greasy and gave me a stomachache. The miso soup is good, as is the kalamari and edemame. But it didnt satisfy my sushi craving at all.

Brand new restaurant! Awesome atmosphere and excellent meal presentation. Sushi has a really good flavor and it is served at a good temperature. Kaiso salad is huge compared to what youd normally get in Lafayette. Looking forward to more tasty meals here. Booths are sectioned off to give you a more "private" dining experience.

Great service! Fair prices. Newly renovated dining area looks great. I had the Veggie Ramen, which came with half a boiled egg and a piece of fish cake (heads up for you vegans), good variety of veggies, mushrooms and a mountain of perfect noodles, soup base was really nice, and not too salty.

Today (4-1-17)was the first time I tried their dishes and I loved it. Good ambiance and the foods tasted good. The owner of the restaurant seem like an ambitious guy who wants to introduce new dishes to his customers, something I admire a lot. I will visit this restaurant often.

I came here for their Tuesday special and had an excellent experience. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. We were seated in a little both with a beaded entry, which made it very cozy. With the discount on rolls, we felt like it was an outstanding value.

Visited on April 6th! Wonderful ambiance. Quick and friendly Service! Most importantly...the food was AMAZING! We had the -bubble tea -seafood soup -supreme roll -miso pork ramen -spicy miso chicken ramen Nothing Disappointed us at all! This place is a must!

The food was absolutely wonderful and the service was fast. It was Sunday and only 4 people were there so my to go order ready in 10 minutes! Ill definitely be going back and be a frequent customer. Im so happy we have a place like this in Lafayette.

Katana has a classy look and great food. Im vegetarian and have only had the vegetable ramen which is outstanding. Its spicy with a lot of veggies but also a fish cake and boiled egg which they can leave off.
