While the staff, after a little while of sitter was well mannered and polite, being a first-time customer we had to ask if we needed to order at the counter after looking at the menu deciding what we wanted to have, and sitting and talking for 5 min (no other patrons waiting). The food while tasting didnt possess the quality the prices reflected it should have, $3 each for two cups of half straight water regular house coffee (with a refill being $1 of the same quality), $13 for the Grit with Lamb & Pork sausage ( a shallow dish of luke warm grits, with a fairly undercooked sausage patty, with up egg way over cooked on the bottom and under cooked and slimy on top cooked as a pair and cut in half), $12 for the Bisquit and Duck Gravy (with the other half or the up egg cut in half combo, was actually vary good minus the poorly cooked egg on top). All in all, I think Guy Feira would be ashamed of having endorsed this place had he gotten the quality that we were presented.

We have been here four times in the past two months. The first time we received exceptional food and beverages. Portions were generous, food was fresh and delicious. We were floored. Today, after dropping $50 on our usual fare only to remain hungry, I doubt we will be back. The food is still better than a lot of joints in Louisville, but for the price, I expect to leave satisfied. Our portions were considerably smaller than times past, less sauce and an overall meh factor. Each time has been just a touch worse than the time before. This time, I unfortunately felt the need to write a mediocre review for what now seems to be only a mediocre brunch spot. I really hope our plates were an overlooked exception and not the new standard.

Wow! Outstanding brunch! Sitting at the bar top gave us a wonderful overall experience and insight to all the action at Gralehaus. We got a ginger shandy and a stout with an espresso shot to drink, both of which were delicious. For brunch we ordered the lamb and grits (and a side of black eye peas salad, and it was really simple and tasty!), and this dish was a knockout! If you like lamb, order this. If you dont like the gamey nature of lamb, it could be a bit too much. But the grits were lovely perfection! We were also lucky enough to be treated to a sample of their lavender citrus soft serve ice cream and were blown away. Well done, Gralehaus!

Whoa, this place really is delicious. Around 9 am on a Saturday proved a 20 minute wait to order, as expected, but heads up to the impatient ones out there! I ordered the biscuit with duck gravy and a glass of their fresh orange juice. Very satisfying, it put me in to a food coma, but well worth it. I spent just under 20 bucks, for some that may sounds crazy for 1 biscuit and a glass of OJ. But it is so worth it, and the staff was friendly and sincere with conversation. Cheers Gralehaus!

Delightful German style haus serving delicious coffee, tasty plates, and fresh soft pretzels. The inside is very nice, there is a quaint porch, as well as a beautiful German style beer garden. The Gralehaus also has very nice rooms by the night although we did not stay in one. It is worth noting that at 4 the Gralehaus closes and the Holy Grale opens. The beer garden connects the two establishments and remains open. The Holy Grale serves tasty beers

This killer breakfast spot is staged in an historic house, with a small interior, but a generous patio out back (that they share with Holy Grale). The food was excellent and unique, and the pourover coffee was quite perfect. Not a spot for a quick bite, but certainly worth the wait. Visited on a Saturday morning at 10 am and it was only moderately busy. Friendly staff and did I mention the awesome menu? See pics!

Beautiful old house converted into a charming hole-in-the-wall of a restaurant. Scrumptious & reasonably priced breakfast given the quality ($9-13 an entree, $4+ beers and $2-5 coffee). Biscuits & duck gravy was the star of the show, but I only got a photo of the French toast (also delicious). Dont be scared off if its packed - the line moves quickly and theres a LARGE courtyard out back, great for groups!

My favorite breakfast in Louisville. I get the ale with espresso notes and a bowl of grits [ask for a fried egg on top, runny yolk]. The portions are spot on, everything on the menu tastes great, and the staff is open to customers tweaking their orders. My girlfriend is always legitimately angry with me when I go without her. She likes the biscuits and gravy.

Best place for unique breakfast options, like a shot of espresso and a shot of coffee stout for breakfast! Its delicious, the place is gorgeous and the service is great. I love to go on weekday mornings because its way less crowded and it makes me feel like Im at a relaxing secluded location. Weekends, the lines can be long and it can be hard to find a seat.

Got the Bologna, biscuit, and egg sandwich with cheese and avocado on the side. It was presented very well and tasted great. They messed up my sister in laws order though and also forgot my avocado. The server was pretty nice about it though and willing to fix it. I would say for the quality and presentation the prices are more than fair as well.

A great place for beer, coffee, tea and fantastic breakfast, lunch and brunch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is eclectic and cozy. They have a great secluded outdoor garden that connects to the Holy Grale. They also have delicious specials with burger and malt nights as well as events in the outdoor garden.

Hipsters abide here. Seriously delicious espresso and from scratch breakfast creations with flavor combinations youll only find here. Enjoy your coffee and food out back in the garden that adjoins the night time bar Holy Graile or inside (limited seating but Ive never had trouble finding a spot). Great food, great java. Check it out!

Great food, great atmosphere, awesome crepes, and overall fantastic find! My only minor complaints are that the place is a bit tricky to find, there arent very many tables (in the winter when the outdoor seating is closed), and it usually takes a while to get food (>30 minutes sometimes) because the kitchen is a little small.

This place has it all! Cocktails and coffees were all great. The cold brew was not as strong as we usually like, but regular hot coffee was on point. The food was the real superstar. Lamb + grits and sucrulose crepe were divine. Service style is a little different here, but efficient for the heavy crowd.

Breakfast. Plus: great fresh squeezed OJ. Coffee is good (Intelligentsia beans). Minus: both the country ham & egg crepe and the country ham egg & cheese sandwich were too salty. Not willing to do any substitutions on dishes. A bit of an attitude here. Conclusion: will try a different place tomorrow...

Always have enjoyed my visits here. The breakfast is amazing, both the veggie hash and the family meal (a cheesy, chivey grit bowl) are to die for. Love the beer selection. And as one who loves coffee and beer, the beer and shot of espresso is the perfect combination. Why would you not like this place?
