Gotta love Barret Bar! This Germantown gem is a short walk from Bardstown road, but feels like a neighborhood bar. The large and comfortable outside area is dog-friendly and smoker-friendly, with a full bar and tv, a heated area in the winter, and table service year round. Inside are plenty of tables, barstools, as well as 6 pool tables. Drinks are reasonably priced, and Coors Banquet cans are always $3. The food is really good! Just be sure you know when the kitchen closes (earlier on weekdays). The staff are always friendly and helpful, service is good and fast, and though the place gets busy on weekends, it is never crowded or too full. Music is usually playing in the background but not too loud to have a conversation. There are enough TVs to make Barret a good place to watch a big game, election, debate, or other event, but it (fortunately) doesnt usually have a sports-bar feel (unless one of the local teams is having a big game). Overall, Barret Bar and Grill has a diverse clientele, quality food, drinks, and service, and is one of the best overall spots in the area!

I absolutely love the laid-back atmosphere of Barret Bar. Its got your standard bar food fare (I have a lot of food allergies, so I am limited to what I can eat, but their pulled pork sandwich is pretty delicious) and their well liquors are actually decent, to my surprise. The bartenders are very attentive and friendly, too, which is a big plus.

Why has nobody mentioned the fact that this bar and grill is also a pool hall. They have many nice 7 foot Diamond tables, and 2 nice tables up front near the bar (not sure if they are 8 foot or 9 foot, but they are pay by the hour tables). It is a very nice place, and I agree with what many others have already mentioned (the food is good).

Barret Bar is my jam. I shoot pool here often. The service is fantastic, the food is consistently decent and its never over crowded. If youre not into crowds, want a good beer or cocktail and a relaxing atmosphere, this place is for you. The outdoor patio bar is ideal in the summertime and decently warm in the fall and springtime.

One of Louisvilles best kept secrets since 1937. Excellent food with house-smoked meats, homemade beercheese, slider sandwiches on pretzel buns and much more. Great patio with outside bar and year-round seating. Happy hour specials and a large craft beer selection and new beers on tap every week. Definitely a place to check out.

One of favorite bars in the city. Best bar food around bar none and excellent atmosphere. My only complaint which is small is that sometimes the craft beer pints can be a little expensive. Aside from that this bar is great and if you have never been its definitely worth checking out. Good job Barret Bar!

The bartender service gave crap service. The food I ordered was mediocre. I had to go and get her to get my orders multiple times. The atmosphere is great. Basically if you dont want to eat or drink and just play pool. Go here.

Dont park in the back parking lot. Someone smashed my car window last night there and stole couple things that were inside the door . Nothing was visible, nothing on the sits, no purse or electronic.

Barret is a local pool hall with an excellent staff and that local bar ambiance. Its the best at what it tries to be! Come for bike night Tuesdays, or just hang out, drink and shoot pool any time.

The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was great, especially the pretzel loaf and beer cheese. Its a must anytime you go there. The beer and drinks were also very reasonably priced.
