My family and I ate here last week. We were told there would be a 45-60 minute wait. Unfortunately, all available waiting room seating was full, and there was no standing room in the bar area, either. This meant my family and I - and several other customers- had to sit outside in the cold. Our wait only took 30 minutes, however. We were seated and we gave our drink and appetizer orders, and it received our appetizers 15 minutes later. We waited for more than half an hour AFTER that to receive our dinners. In that time, our drinks were not refilled- we just sat with empty plates and empty glasses. The table next to us apparently flagged the manager and said something about the poor service, as they had been seated before us and didnt have their food, either. I saw the manager then walk up to our server, who was taking orders at another table. The manager said something to the server, and the server looked confused. They then both laughed. It appeared that the manager had a brief talk with the server about this other party and their food, but neither of them took the complaint seriously, since they were laughing. When we finally received our food, we were asked if everything tasted ok before any of us had even taken a bite! After that, the server and busboy kept lingering over our table. We felt rushed. We understood that there were more people who needed to be seated, but if we had received our food in a more timely manner, we would have been finished with our meal quite a while earlier. Ten minutes after our food arrived, the server started asking if he could take our plates away. We handed off what we could, but it was very aggravating. All in all Id say we were "allowed" about 15 minutes to eat. Most of our party was quite ravenous and finished their meals quickly, but because of health issues, I have to eat a little slower- nothing out of the ordinary, but I cant inhale my food quite like some people can. I ended up asking for a box and taking more than half my dinner home because I was made to feel uncomfortable by the server. On top of all that, the food wasnt that great. My brother could barely cut into his "medium well" steak- the server actually held the plate down for him while he sawed into it to ensure it was done to his liking. I would take that as a bad sign, honestly. Also, my baked beans tasted as though they had come straight from a can of Bushs- they were room temperature and tasted like no baked beans I have ever had in a restaurant. Between the slowness of the wait staff, the poor attitude of the servers (and manager) and the quality of the food, I doubt we will ever visit this Tumbleweed again. Its worth the 25 minute drive to visit the one on Hurstbourne, which has better service.

When we came in the floor were very slippery. I disregarded that because we were quickly seated. Our server was great. Very polite, and fast with our drinks. We ordered and waited quite a bit longer than usual but that was ok because they were somewhat busy. Then when food finally came they made our chicken strips wrong (we asked for a certain sauce) she immediately took them back and put the order in to fix them. Decided to take the children to the bathroom in hopes that their dads chicken would be done by the time we got back so we could all eat together. (This was just dropping some strips and dipping them in sauce.) Anyhow, once in the bathroom, one stall was shut down, one was occupied, the other available. Sent my little in to use it, Noticed the toilet was disgusting and obviously hadnt been cleaned in a long time as there was a ring of dirt where the water lays. Feminine wrappers on the floor, toilet paper strewn about. Pull them out and have them wash their hands after touching the stall door. Soap dispenser was broken off the wall and garbage was over flowing onto the floor. Disgusted at the bathroom we went back to the table. Sat down and let the kids eat. Dads food was not back yet. By the time the girls ate all their food and even had icecream then FINALLY his food came. By then he was full on chips. The manager did exclude that from our bill. But either way, our experience was HORRIBLE. We will NEVER return here.

Very disappointed. Ive lived in Louisville my entire life and went to the Tumbleweed on Mellwood frequently back in the day. The Tumbleweed on Outer Loop is NOTHING like what made this a great restaurant in the past. The service was horrible, the food was very small portioned and nothing special has far as flavor. I took my son there for his first visit and you not only lost a long time customer but a future one also. We couldnt even get our drinks refilled in a timely matter and when they were ,they were 75% ice. A little advice, if youre going to serve spicy food then at least give the customer a decent size glass of something to drink. A 12oz glass that is packed full of ice doesnt leave much room for anything else. Finally my son and I eat out often and pretty much have been to all the nicer restaurants in town. I normally get ice tea and he gets water. We can usually eat a meal that will fill the both of us up for around 25-28 dollars not including tip. Our bill at Tumbleweed was 30 bucks for 2 small burritos and I could have eaten twice what they served. If it had been any good as far as quality I probably wouldnt had cared as much but it lacked in taste as well as portion size. Never again.

Our server was new. She did get our order right. Service from the bar was slow. Dont know if she was old enough to serve us drinks since the bartender brought our drinks. We watched as the manager gave the table next to us desserts, comped their meal, then gave them a gift card. All the while we were sitting next booth over with no drinks. I blame the manager for the poor service because instead of working to help her employee she took all her time talking to this table. When there is a problem with the service you need to look at the manager to see how she is helping her employees. We did not complain about our service but the manager came and took our ticket which delayed us even more. In my opinion the manager was not very good. Instead of helping her employee she stood by talking not even caring about her other customers. To our server I would say work hard and dont give up on service work you will find a place where you will have team support.

Terrible. 18 minutes to get drink order, which was forgotten. Then came to get appetizer order at 27 minutes, forgot drinks again. We went ahead and ordered food while the table behind us got up and left and the manager pleaded for them to return offering a gift card to match their order. The table adjacent complained aswell. And the table next to us did the same. We grabbed a manager at 34 Minutes who came back to retake the order and another server jumped in to help bringing the drinks and queso. Its now 53 mins the queso is oily, chips are stale and still no food. No wonder some guy and his family walked out as we came in."without paying.".. then to top it off, the manager offered to pay for our meal, begging for us to come back again. Im not sure what kind of business they are trying to run but they need corporate help asap.
