The food was great but the service is less than desirable. Visited during the lunch hour on Tuesday 8/10. Upon entry into the store we were not greeted by a hostess so had to walk up to the counter to ask to be seated. When we were seated, we waited 10-12 minutes before a server came to our table to ask for our drink order so we had to go back to our hostess and ask if we could get some service. Our server informed us that the hostess did not inform her that she had a new table. Neither here nor there but our server Angela was amazing. She was prompt and continued to check on us throughout our meal. Unfortunately the kitchen did not prepare our order (1 pizza) correctly so to put more stress on Angela, she had to take our pizza back. The food was great and the server knew what she was doing but the hostess and the kitchen need to have a system of quality checks in place to make sure all customers are taken care of and all orders are checked before table deliver. Great job Angela for doing the best you could!

I was excited when I read about this place - seemed neat, however, I was let down. The diverse menu drew me in however, if you want good unique pizza go to Deweys. Really. Their salads are to die for as well. My issues with Mellow Mushroom: no lunch menu, my friend got a salad that ended up being $12 after adding toppings and I wanted to try the gluten free pizza and was forced to get a medium instead of a small. Also, the gluten free crust cost more than the regular and my server didnt tell me that. To top it off, the crust isnt homemade!!! I guess that is why I was limited to a medium size... tasted like cardboard or old stale bread. My pizza was $22!!!! NO FREAKIN JOKE!!! Went out for a quick lunch with a friend and was expecting to pay around $10 and paid $22 for a pizza???????? NEVER AGAIN. Our server was slow, we were there over an hour and I was late getting back to work. The atmosphere was clean (but they are new) however the value, service, and food doesnt even rank.

Mellow Mushroom has become my new favorite company. I went to the Mellow Mushroom in Lexington KY while visiting one of UKs doctoral programs. A nice young lady by the name of Jody served me at the bar. She was quick to replenish my drink, while recommending other beer selections that I had never tried before. She was also nice enough to let me sample any beer I had never tried before. Additionally, one of the employees named Neil, who was off the clock, sat near me and was uncommonly nice. Both employees made me feel like a regular, even when it was my first time in Lexington. Service was super fast, and the pizza was some of the best I have ever had. While the food is incredible at Mellow Mushroom, the atmosphere, service, and staff somehow surpassed its already impressive menu of pizza and beer. If I come to Lexington next fall, I will certainly be back! Thank you!

I think its the best pizza weve had. The pizza is very creatively made and we love being able to watch them cook it right after ordering. We ordered a Bruschetta as an appetizer which had the right amount of crunch and tasted great. I had the Mushroom pizza, I think it was called Holy Shiitake Pie or something and it was just perfect. My husband got the Meaty Pizza that was just covered in meat and he said it was fantastic. The waitress was awesome, making sure our drinks were full while not pressuring us to make an order. I love the ambiance of the room, very relaxed and fun. Many great designs everywhere. We loved this place and cannot wait to come back.

Came down here from Fort Campbell for a funeral and picked up some food to bring home (Dec 2) and when we got home and checked it it was cold (which could be because the drive is 30 minutes) and the order was completely wrong. We ordered two pizzas. One cheese and one pepperoni. Well I dont know if they got our order switched with someone else because the pepperoni pizza was supreme and the cheese had mushrooms on it. When we got there they didnt ask us if we had a pick up order or if we were gonna dine in. We had to go find someone to get us our food. The service was terrible. Dont know if we will go here again.

Just got home from work and decided to try Mellow Mushroom for he first time at 9:32PM on 8/16/1 to place an order for pick-up. The lady informed me that the manager told her that they would not take anymore orders. Called back and the managed said that they could have done a smaller item such as a salad or hoagie, but by the time that conversation had finished it was 9:37 and I didnt want to inconvenience the staff in having to stay over an extra few minutes. Manager did apologize, but I never got to place the order.

My husband and I were told to try this place out by our friend. The atmosphere is great, much like a hippy/eclectic vibe. We had the garlic cheese bread and just a plain old pepperoni pizza and it was great! My husband had the "blue valium" to drink and enjoyed it! Service was great, the place was very busy and we sat at the bar where the bartender gave us amazing service, friendly and never had an empty glass or need. We will come back if we are in Lexington again!

Food was excellent, however the waitress was less than desirable. She left as soon as we arrived, talking to another customer at the bar for almost 45 minutes before taking our order. The dining room was not busy and we almost left before placing our order. Absolutely love the pizza and that is why we stayed. No refills and had to wait forever for a box. I have previously been a waitress in my years and NEVER would I have treated my customers in such a way.

The pizza was pretty good if youre into bready pizza. I recommend their pretzels but be warned, ask the server how many there are. We ended up with way more than we needed and I wish she had warned us. Our pretzels and pizza arrived at the same time too which was annoying, but thats a minor complaint. Very nice wait staff and a cool place. My kids loved it. My wife and I thought it was okay. Didnt realize that its a chain.

We didnt wait long to be seated. The service was excellent and attentive. The best pizza Ive tasted in awhile that had originality. The dough was cooked perfectly. I honestly have no compliants. Other than that I hope they enlarge the kids meal selection. I had half and half of Thai Dye and Mellowterranian and it was delicious! My husband had the KY Hillbilly and this placed bumped out his #2 spot. It was a great choice.

The food is amazing and really fresh its like they went and picked the veggies from a garden and put it directly on your pizza!! The only thing is if your not carefully it can get pricy but if you look at the menu you can get really good deals. Everyone there has a exceptional personality that makes you feel great and have a great time i love that place. Only had a rude waiter one time out of all the times i visited.
