Got take out from here due to being close to my hotel during a visit to Frankfort. Been to many a Cracker Barrel with my wife and children. Glad I wss alone this time. The staff seemed overwhelmed and surprised when I informed them of my order. Took them awhile until my order was ready - about 15 mins after I paid for the order at the register. Yes, they made sure I paid before I got my food. How did they know what I ordered if they were surprised I was there to pick up my order? When my food was finally ready, an individual that Im assuming was either the manager or at least someone within the supervisor chain, brought my food to me. I was standing by the entrance doors. Just couldnt walk around the store anymore. That was new but nice. I would usually pick up the food by the "podium". Oh well... Got back to my room and found out the food was dry as a desert (chicken fried chicken was almost too tough to cut - broke the plastic knife) and the corn bread...I put that away after drinking half a bottle of water when I took my first, only bite. And so salty. Even the biscuits and mashed potatoes were salty...how is that possible? Well...at least the corn was good as always. Was too late and I was too tired to even complain about the food when I got to my room. And what could they do anyway? "Un-salt" my meal? Maybe the kitchen staff missed my order and made one quickly after I got there. With some extra, special salt to teach me a lesson? If so, dont know why. I didnt complain. Didnt say anything about my food not being ready. I even said if it wasnt done, I could leave because they seemed to be busy enough. Was told its ok and to just wait - theyll figure out what happened. Well I took it as a lesson learned - not all Cracker Barrels are equal. An involved store manager might be the difference in the ones that are...

I dont like to use the word "hate" very much; however, it is hard for me to believe all the glowing reviews of this restaurant. I have tried on FIVE different occasions--all resulting in the same outcome: awful service and awful food. It seems all the management and staff here are concerned about is how quick they can shuttle you to a table. Never mind that after you are seated, it takes 20-30 minutes to get served (and thats on a good day). My food was never cooked to my liking, never arrived in a timely fashion, was never hot (barely warm was the norm here), and the servers acted as if they wanted to be anywhere but there. Anybody that knows me knows that if my service is good, I will tip AT LEAST 20% and that includes if my food is bad. I realize the servers dont cook the food, but it is up to them to get it to me within a reasonable time. The difference between the Cracker Barrel here and the Cracker Barrel in Shelbyville, KY, is at opposite ends of the spectrum.

When we expressed we couldnt see to read the menu and we would like to sat next to the window she said we could only sat in 3 other tables near us. Then we said we would have to order by memory. When the food came out the biscuits were as hard as a rock and I showed her She agreed. She said some fresh biscuits would be available in a few minutes and I told her I wanted fresh biscuits. She took the hard biscuits with her. About 5 - 8 minutes later she brought out fresh biscuits and said the cooks said they were fine and then threw them and agreed then. I had to ask for jelly. I will not go back to this Cracker barrel. This the first cracker barrel that I was unhappy with. The bathrooms were dirty too. Very disappointed.

I like this location, and not just because its in my hometown. I typically receive very good service here. The wait staff is usually friendly and attentive. The food is hot and good. Its Cracker Barrel. Its homey and laid back, nostalgic and familiar. I will say that if you call in a to-go order, you should check your bag before you leave to make sure you got everything you ordered. A couple of times when I ordered, I got home only to find a side missing. So, just check. If youre missing something, theyll get you what you want quickly, Im sure.

The food can be amazing, but lately it has been questionable. Last week I had bacon that was old and flavorless and sausage that looked like it had been deep fried. To add to it, the air conditioner was over my table leaking into my food, my drink and on the table and the two employees that saw it, verified that it was the air conditioner, and acted as if it was normal to be leaking in food, drinks and on the table. I want my old Cracker Barrel back, when the food was fresh and they actually cared about the customers.

Me and my husband had dinner here tonight. My dinner was good, but my husband ordered Camp fire beef it wasnt good .The server got him another dinner it was much better. The server kept apologizing. The server name was June he was very good! He wanted to get us a dessert and he would pay for it. I told him it wasnt his fault that the food wasnt good. I didnt want him to pay for it.He was one of the best waiters we have had.Very polite young man!

The worst customer service Ive ever experienced anywhere... The "manager" bald guy in a green dress shirt.. no name tag . Saw me standing in the to go line and ignored me as he continued to help people who came up to pay after I was standing there. The kid who eventually helped me was very nice. Also my corn bread was not in my bag, I should have checked before I left the store but after 11 hours of driving I just wanted to get back to the hotel.

Good food, but REALLY bad take out service. Waitress (Joyce) was very rude and then it took an hour for take out, which I only got because I talked to a manager. (The people in line in front of me sat down and ate and left before I got my food.). And I wasnt offered a discount or coupon, just given a lecture to let them know earlier that I was waiting (I tried to get someones attention, but was ignored).

After several poor experiences last year, we reconsidered and tried carryout again. True to form, the order (straight off the menu, nothing unusual) was wrong. Food quality is great, service at the restaurant is great, but for some reason, our carryout orders are without fail, always wrong. Eat there, dont get carryout, youll be happy. Go with the carryout if youre not a picky eater and kind of a gambler.

Terrible wait time for server to come to the table. Then, took an hour to get our food. Apparently, our server was on break when we were ready to leave so I asked another employee for a to go box and she acted like I was speaking a foreign language. However, our server finally reappeared and retrieved a box. The chicken was really dry, but our hound dog didnt mind too much. We dont plan on a return visit.
