This little hole in the wall in Covington is a great place to eat some chinese food or have an appetizer and a beer at the bar. Their beer list is awesome. The menu is a combination between your favorite chinese classics but made FRESH and some of the chefs specials. We had the dragons breath wontons as an appetizer. They are about the best appetizer I have had anywhere. Pretty spicy, but delicious. Also we ordered the crab rangoons, which were good but nothing special. As an entree we had the pepper chicken and a chef special: fried porkchop. The pepper chicken was like you expect pepper chicken to be but packed with flavor and fresh vegetables. Delicious. The pork chop comes chopped up and fried, on a bed of lettuce (ads a nice crisp) with a aromatic crust of spices and herbs. A very good brown sauce is served on the side as well as your choice of fried or steamed rice. Overall the experience was great. The server was very personable and patient with all our questions and did a great job explaining all the specials (ask for them!). The interior that some people describe as messy has a really cool kung fu inspired vibe. My only gripe with the food - although better than any other chinese food I have tasted in the city, so much flavor! - is that both dishes really were too oily. I understand oil is involved in the frying and baking of the meats and I expect some oil, but this really was too much.

Absolute terrible service this evening. We ordered two entrees. One of them was the special the bartender recommended. After we finished he came back to us and told us he gave us the wrong meal and it was intended for another table. The special was some type of beef dish with veggies and the plate he brought out was the filet with veggies. Very similar dishes and we didnt even notice. He said we should have known it wasnt our meal and blamed us for his mistake. Then he took our bill off the bar charged us for the difference of the entree he made the mistake on and told the table right behind us he was comping their meal because we took their dish. Never been so insulted before and done so bluntly. Took everything I had not to blow up on this guy. Our second entree came out and by this point we were so shocked we just paid our total bill and still a 25% tip and left. I own two restaurants in the city and I would fire one of my employees on the spot for ever treating a patron like we were tonight. How can you accuse the patron of this mistake and even tell the table whom was expecting their meal it was our fault?!? I am still in shock as I write this review and will be back only to personally let their owner or manager know in detail of this terrible experience. It is a shame because the food is decent but will never dine there again because of what happened this evening.

This place is a real gem!!! Who would have thought that traditional Taiwanese food and gourmet beer would go together so well? These guys make it work so well that you will be wondering how youve been missing out all these years. This place has everything too! Be sure to ask about the nights specials (both beer and food), check out their beer selection (over 150 beers to choose from), and watch some kung-fu on the big screen. The place has a really cool New York "East Village" feel with its kung-fu posters everywhere, crazy chalk graffiti, and action figure laden bar. Be sure to talk to Micah if he is in, hes the bar manager and knows more about gourmet beer than anybody I have met. There is always something new on the beer menu and often times it is something rare. (i.e. Sierra Nevadas Life & Limb) Oh, and if you like spicy food these guys deliver! They grow their own hybrid hot peppers for the kitchen, so beware if you order anything over a 5 on the spice level! So slide on down, grab some Dragons Breath Wontons and a cold beer and enjoy one of the most unique restaurants in Cincinnati! A++++

Given the hipster atmosphere and eclectic decor, I really wanted to like this place. A coworker had raced about it, and I had no reason to doubt his judgement; however, this place was just "okay". First of all, the staff was unwelcoming, not particularly unfriendly, just unwelcoming. No one smiled, especially the young lady who assisted me. Secondly, I placed my order at 2:45pm for Chicken Lo-Mein, with a veggie egg roll. As this was a Tuesday, I expected the dish to qualify as a lunch special (I was even handed a specials menu). I was surprised to learn that I had been charged full price for my dish, but I was already charged so there was really nothing I could do. The food was just okay. The Lo-Mein was entirely too spicy, yet it was completely bland- no flavor whatsoever. The egg roll also left a lot to be desired. Although the egg roll was rather large, it lacked any kind of flavor. The entire meal was a disappointment, and a rather expensive one at that (almost $9). Needless to say, I will not return, and will stick to Shanghai Mamas downtown or Chopsticks in Florence, ky.

This place is really good Chinese food... they do stuff hot on a scale of 1-10 normally I go in a place find out the scale and start with 1 step down from max.. max is like saying just punish me you sadists" at some places... no real measuring haha. So I start with near max and next time I usually try and go off menu for heat scale. NOT HERE. When they say its a scale of 1-10 they mean it.. I do not thing there is a secret off menu heal scale. At heat level 4 if its too hot you pay for another meal and they WARN you. See at 4 is where it moves from hot oil to hot oil and habenero I think. 5 to 7 is straight habenero and 8,9,&10 is ghost peppers. What Im saying is these dudes dont play around. My 5 was as hot as most Thai places scale of 1-10 FIFTEEN... (I have had a 20... 20 is hotter than this 5.. but maybe more like a 6 or 7) So great food... just keep in mind they take thier spice VERY seriously.

Food tasted amazing, but towards end of my meal, found bug inside my beer 3/4 of the way down. When I told what happened to the "general manager", he said he would give 50% off the beer lol what a joke!!! I was thinking to myself..."this guy is really going to make me pay for something that had a bug in it"...upon feeling sick to my stomache, he then proceeds to "educate" me on the biology of bugs and how I couldnt possibly get sick from one (which in most cases...probably true!) ...but to go on to insult me with names like "stupid"...I knew this argument was definitely not worth it. Owners of the restaurant seemed to passive aggressively ignore the entire situation and when confronted...took the back of their rude associate. Will NOT go back there. Great food but absolutely horrific customer service experience.

I happened upon this place while out with a friend who lives in the area. It is a small but very popular place with a wait on a Sunday night. Once we were seated it was easy to see why. The first thing I noticed was the enormous beer selection- Its larger than the food menu! I ordered the pork get in ma belly. It was delicious pork belly and rice with a slightly spicy sauce. This place is loud and ridiculous and kind of perfect for socializing. My companions ordered awesome food as well...I just cant remember what they were. Noodles and tofu and beef...it doesnt really matter, you cant go wrong. I do know that we split an impossibly large egg roll and dumplings that were out of this world. I will be back, absolutely.
