The written menu is so craveable and made my mouth water when reading it, but unfortunately something went wrong in the actual execution of the food. The pork rinds appetizer (Chicharon) was average and was just fried pork rinds (exactly like a bag of them you grab at the gas station), but with no additional flavor. They had a few spring onions slices sprinkled over them and we tried to spice them up with a little bit of Sriracha drizzled over them, but they were really disappointing. The sauce that came with the pork rinds was supposed to be a sweet vinaigrette, but there wasnt one hint of vinegar in that sauce and a sour vinegar was exactly what we needed with the creamy fried taste of the rinds. The Hapa ramen my husband ordered was pretty terrible. The broth was so bland and tasted like they had run out of spices when making it. Super disappointing! But, on the bright side, the short rib grilled cheese sandwich was on point. I would have liked a few more pickled onions and kimchi to balance out the creaminess of the multiple cheeses, but it was pretty perfect. Good work!! Unfortunately the side of fried potatoes was so, so bland and not even worth eating. From what I tried, I would say the food here is not enough for me to come back. Its unfortunate because the menu really is amazing, but the food just isnt. Sometimes I think restaurants try to stay away from really complex flavors and get back to the roots of simple, home-cooked food, but some of the food here was so bland that it was borderline tasteless.

I had the house okonomiyaki and the DIY salad rolls. Both were absolutely delicious. Great price too! The okonomiyaki is definitely enough for one person to eat. They had a really nice crunch and had a mixture of traditional and fusion ingredients that went really well together. The only reason I wouldnt get the okonomiyaki is if you want a lot of meat. The only meat on there is the crumbled bacon. The salad rolls were kind of like spring rolls you get at vietnamese restaurants. You get 5 rice wrappers, these rice nices, and an assorted plated of veggies to fill up on with a choice of a meat. Theres also a sweet dipping sauce to add a bit more flavor. I didnt quite get enough fillers to fill up each wrapper, but it was enough to fill up someone who isnt a big eater. I dunno if you can count on it being a good appetizer for 5 people, unless you dont want a very full roll. The seating was a little crowded, but the atmosphere was pretty good, and I had no problem with the staff. Id definitely go again.

Rarely crowded which astounds me considering its in OTR. The food is consistently good, the mixed drinks are great, and the happy hour prices are awesome for the quality of food. Their dry-rub curry chicken wings are one of the best things Ive ever tasted. Im also a big fan of anything on their menu that features short rib. The service is has always been friendly. On my most recent visit I asked what the server recommended to pair in my build-your-own ramen and he actually sat down to think about his answer. One of my favorite places.

Unique local restaurant! Quan Hapa is one of the few places in Cincinnati that offers the relaxing atmosphere and uncommon Japanese dishes. I havent found another place that sells their Japanese Pancake. It can be crowded in the weekend evenings, and too hot if the sun is out due to the open front, and lack of air conditioning. Mornings and cool afternoons/evening are definitely the best time to come. Wouldnt recommend groups larger than 8, as seating can be limited. The outdoor patio seating is excellent.

I have never had a ramen so good. The mushrooms and tofu are so rich and really complete the meal. The staff is always helpful and attentive. I dont love that they fill your glasses of water for you since there is a water pitcher on the table, but I get their intentions. I wish there was a better seating arrangement, but it is a small place. I like sitting at the bar since I can sit next to my date and hear them speak. They play good music, but I find that it is often too loud.

The Oki was good though I dont have any reference to compare it. Happy hour deals are really great I would recommend it just because of that. My only complaint was that the bathroom I used was pretty gross. The floors were dirty, the toilet was not cleaned and the water trickled out of the sink. I understand that happens sometimes but I went around 4pm and the restaurant was not busy so I was little surprised by the state the restroom was in.

The restaurant has a good vibe. No air conditioning so a little uncomfortable in the summer. A big beer selection with a couple of beers on tap. The iced green tea was sub par. The ramen was not very good. The broth tasted watered down. The vegetables tasted very under seasoned. The meat was probably the best part of the ramen. If looking for a good ramen, I recommend going elsewhere. They do have soft toilet paper.

I dont understand the 5 star reviews for this place. Either these are paid reviews or people in Cincinnati have no idea how ramen is supposed to taste. We were a party of three and ordered all three varieties of ramen. The broths tasted like Luke warm salty water and the noodles looked like they came out of a 50 cent pack of ramen. The egg was the only redeeming point and was soft boiled perfectly. Disappointing!

you want to impress friends from out of town? Look no further. The Ramen here is not outstanding but definately avove average. The star of this place is their Tuka Poke bowl and the Okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes.) Okonomiyaki is not hard to make but for some reason people stateside jack it up all the time. This is the best place to get Okonomiyaki in the region by far.

I had the best service here. We even had a stroller and they took great care of us. There was no wait at 730 on a Saturday night. Drinks were awesome- great portion size and mixed just right. I had a London mule and my friend had champagne. We didnt have enough time, but in the future I would absolutely come back to eat! Thanks for helping being a great spot to stop in OTR

Im always amazed that I can walk in and find seating at a reasonably priced gastropub restaurant located in downtown OTR. The food has never let me down, customer service is always helpful and knowledgeable. I personally love their spam musubi, it brings me back to Maui. Also love their hapa ramen, the pork belly melts in your mouth.

This place is absolutely under rated by many who frequent the more popular OTR establishments. The food is well executed and quite creative. Their ramen is delicious and you can even create your own. Plus, online take out ordering is fast and convenient. Pro tip: try their wings. They are fabulous.

We had the best dinner here. Great open spot. They throw up the garage doors and it is perfect for a summer night. Great wings!! Live the Sriracha and the Korean BBQ. Both were excellent. I also had the mushroom ramen. It was super tasty!! Good beer selection. Friendly staff. Quick service.
