Though they made a name for themselves using sushi, and though its not featured very prominently on the menu, Hana Cafe is foremost a Korean restaurant. It doesnt detract from their ample sushi menu (qualitys on par with the better sushi places in the city, though not necessarily with the same creativity), but the typical meal for me on a visit to Hana involves starting with a couple pieces of nigiri before moving on to the Korean dishes, and what better Korean dish is there than bibimbop? Theres a handful of different versions featuring beef, chicken, or tofu, though I would warn you that the vegetarian bibimbop doesnt come with that runny egg that ties everything together. Otherwise, its a very nice rendition of the dish from one of the only Korean restaurants in town, though it still doesnt compare to the stone bowls at Mana Wok. Add one of their bottles of saki to the meal and you have an Asian restaurant thats doesnt reach the highs of some other sushi or Korean restaurants in town, but its more than adequate for the droves of Wichita tourists that visit frequently.

Horrible from start to finish! We got there at 2:50 today (Mothers Day) the place was empty except for a booth with a couple, a party of 6 that had their food already, and a 3 top on the patio where we sat. The waitress took our drink and sushi order (which she spilled on my husband when she brought it out) ....45 mins later No Sushi, we were trying our best to be patient, but when she finally came out, i told her we were leaving, she said she would check on it, and came out with my daughters kid meal and the sushi order, I never got my salad, my oldest daughter didnt get her soup, the food was terrible, but the service was worse! She brought the ticket with a $5 discount, I asked for the manager, I was told they didnt have one, I asked for the owner, the waitress said "shes not here and doesnt speak English". I spoke with the owner who offered a gift card for next time. Needless to say we declined that offer, and said we would never come back, and we wont! By the way, the owner speaks perfect English!

The sushi had a good flavor, the selections were limited and the spicy salmon roll was very small. I found the service to be above average. Prices are very reasonable, $6 - $9 will get you any roll you want. That said they were some of the best tasting rolls Ive had in Wichita. In my opinion its a toss up between Sumo and Hanas for the best sushi in town. However, Ive developed this crazy quirk that I like to have a bowl of fried rice with my sushi (I dont understand it either, its just what I like) and Hanas doesnt serve fried rice of any kind. Steamed rice only. So on that note I have to give the nod to Sumo.

We went for sushi for the first time here last year and the service was slow and the waitress was rude and I felt like she didnt want to be there. We then went again last week during the Riverfest and the service was amazing and fast. Sushi wise I dont really think some of the sushi in the menu is worth there price. I ordered a sushi roll that had shrimp, crab, cucumber wrapped in rice and seaweed which was $13 after taxes for 8 pieces, YEAH, not worth, but in the other hand my friend ordered a handful popcorn shrimp on top of 8 Cali Maki for $12, now thats a deal I was jealous. Overall Ill give it a 6/10.

Horrible service!!! We sat for over an hour waiting for food. Our hot tea long since drank. Then a lady not our waitress (who never showed up until the end) brought us out our food with such excitement -- Only one problem. It wasnt our food! Ee waited some more. She brought some hot tea out and poured it spilling it all over table with fake niceness. Will never go back. Wasabi from now on.

A chill and cozy atmosphere to experience some really delicious sushi or other Asian cuisine. Lots to offer on the menu from rice platters, to noodle bowls, to variety of sushis. Great place to go to for families, groups, or couples. The facility is well kept and clean, the waitress was nice and attentive, overall a very positive experience. Highly recommend if your on a night on the town.

We have tried all the sushi places in Wichita and this is by far the best. Several reviewers mentioned poor service. We experienced this just once, when the sushi chef failed to show up on a Friday night so they were severely understaffed. Every other occasion we have had good service. I usually order the seaweed salad and a fire roll.

Place is lively and clean. Nice atmosphere. Food is mediocre. Nothing special. Service is friendly enough but not exceptional. Sushi was overpriced for what it was. This was my second time there and I had the same experience each time. Many people in Wichita like this place but theres a superior experience just a few blocks away.

Great food, but the variety of fried sushi available is very very limited which was a disappointment for me. The service was mostly good; our waitress was very kind and bubbly but she was staring into her phone for at least 15 minutes while we were ready to pay. Great tempura! Best eel nigiri Ive ever had. Id go again.

Absolutely amazing. I do get sushi on occasion, but I usually get the Korean bibimbap, and its always so well made. Food is fabulous, wait staff is so nice and helpful, and the owner is such a sweetie. High suggest going if you want good sushi for a decent price or just a nice dinner with family.

Located in the center of old town makes this little, hidden, Japanese resturaunt an expensive spot at dinner but cheapens up around lunch for those who want authentic japanese food. Overall a great place to eat although can be pricey at times.

Love this place. Best sushi in Wichita. It is a tad more pricey but can one really put a price on quality? Expect to pay $15-25 plus drinks. Alcohol selection varies. Beer choices are few but they are suficient. Same goes for the other types.

Food was okay. Nothing to wright home about, but the service was total crap. During a non busy lunch hour it should not take over 40 minutes to get three rolls. And another 15-20 min to get the main meal. I will NEVER go back.

Nice downtown location, and friendly service. It is a little small inside, but that doesnt matter if you want quality sushi. Prices were on par for the food. I will definitely be back!

Hana Cafe has great Sushi, I havent tried any of the other food served here. People tend to be drawn to Wasabi and Im not sure why. Maybe they dont know about this little gem.

The atmosphere is very nice... Good was not worth the price. Everything was extremely salty I think they just poored soy sauce all over my salad. The meat had no flavor.

Delicious food and great service! It is definitely my favorite sushi restaurant in town. If youre not a fan of sushi, try their Bi Bim Bab, its delicious!
