Went in at 15 minutes to close, not 5, not 10 minutes...15 minutes till close by my cell phone time. We were treated very badly by the staff. The waitress was visibly mad, she came by the table after we were rushed very rudely and made to order our drinks and food together, stating, "its 15 minutes to close", then after we ordered all we were "allowed" to order even before it was 10:00, again a second time a few minutes later, "its 10 minutes to close". This was just plain rude because we had already ordered. She was being smart-elic reminding us that we were terrible people because how dare we ruin her hoping to get out early and not get another table so she could be off right at 10:00. Then again for no reason, "its 5 minutes to close", then a forth time, "its two minutes" to close. This ALL was unnecessary because we had already ordered. This was very passive aggressive behavior to show that we were rude for coming in at 15 till close. There were about 10 of us. Stupid because we all have worked in restaurants and are 30% tippers and although we arrived 15 minutes before the bar would even be closed, she had no desire to offer wine or a cocktails upselling what could have been a huge tab and her best money making table of the night. Finally I got frustrated with her visibly rude behavior and stated, if you are really closed at 9:45PM and not 10 and there is NO SEATING until 10, thats what the hours should say on the front door and then we would have picked elsewhere to go. She said very rudely, "do you want to see my Manager". I replied no, because at this point she had already ruined what was a last minute attempt to give my husband a birthday dinner after a fiasco of a day and I didnt feel like causing a scene. Even though she was told no, the next thing I know a manager, who obviously had been lied to and briefed that WE were rude, who had an "air" of rudeness himself and came only to be defensive and had no intention of apologizing or being objective until he spoke with us was just as rude as the waitress. As a person who has been a Manager with years of experience in the hospitality industry, I was horrified at the behavior of the staff we encountered on that night. Too bad, the food is great (that is why you got 2 stars, if the service was better you would have got 4 or 5 stars from me-too bad). If you want to eat a meal the last hour they are open, DONT GO THERE!!!! Shame on them for ruining my Husbands Birthday. Also...change your hours of operation if you dont want to take kitchen orders up until what YOU say is closing time or at the very least train your staff to know that if you seat till 10, that doesnt mean the kitchen closes at 10 and everyone is out the door at 10-duh...common sense here people! Your managers shouldnt allow waitstaff to treat a PAYING customer that way, thats how you loose them!

This review is for the combined food and experience here on July 19, 2014. We came in at 6:30 with reservations. The restaurant was empty - we found that surprising since every time we have come in its been packed. Our server was terrible from the minute he started. Again - the restaurant was empty. Water took more than 15 minutes to come out. Appetizers more than 30 minutes. We were approaching the 1 hour mark and decided we needed to have our order switched to go. We have an infant and she needs to be in bed by 8:15ish. We politely explained this fact. Server said ok. Another 45 minutes to get the food... My wife took our baby outside since it was freezing inside and we didnt have any food to eat. I had given our server the payment about 10 minutes before the food came. The food was brought out by another server - who didnt bother to put it in a to go bag. That may sound like a small issue - but when you are carrying a child seat and a diaper bag - the last thing you want to hold is too piping hot containers surrounded in metal.... Anyhow - I waited another 20 or so minutes for the check to arrive with my payment back. This was after seeing my server bring drink orders to three other tables. Ultimately we were in the restaurant for an hour and 45 minutes - way past bedtime - no food and freezing in the restaurant. I used to really like this place. But it appears to have really gone down hill. Each little incident is not a big deal. Combine them together and have no concern for your customer and they are a reason for a 1 star review.

Worst ... I feel cheated !!! The staff was unfriendly, the server didnt bother to mention about the size of a plate. When we reached this place the front staff told us that they dont have arrangement to seat 10 as they are full but then they let us in. When we reached inside the restaurant, it was 90% vacant. Although I absolutely felt choked and caught up in this weird restaurant but again decor is subjective. Then we ordered the food, after a decent appetizer portion and without being made aware of the size of a entree plate, we ordered 4 pastas for 10 guests. And to our shock the 4 pastas served would literally serve 20-25 guests and the server didnt care to mention about the size of each plate. One word RIDICULOUS, I would have thrown the money if the food had been good but it was also a dismay. SAVE your money and find a better place, ITS ABSOLUTELY NOT worth your dime and time, and the frustration you have to go through.

We got fascinated by their online menu and the good dessert options, the server asked us if it was our first time, and yes it was, in spite of knowing that it was our first ever time having food at Buca, she ruined our experience, the order came late, it was not that crowded either to validate the delay. We ordered vegetarian food, they had a menu card without price listed. The dessert that we were looking forward came 30 min after ( it was not the volcano one which they strictly warned takes time and needs to be ordered ahead to enjoy it ), and it was a disaster. Although the manager apologized for the dessert disaster and waived the cost, it was no big deal, just had a bitter experience. Will never go in there to dine or lunch.

Overpriced food that doesnt taste much better than a basic Olive Garden. Disappointingly bland. Also, I was initially surprised by the fact that the restaurant was empty on a Friday night dinner but this actually turned out untrue. What had actually occurred was that my boyfriend(Hispanic) and I (also Hispanic), were sat in a completely separate area from the rest of the patrons(all of whom were Northpark Mall shopper types); I only found this out when I had to bypass the larger dining area to go to wash up before the meal arrived. If I were as blatantly ignorant as the managers, then I would wonder why this happened. Completely regretful dinner.

Went there and wasnt aware that it was "family style". Seriously restaurants, this is the most annoying trend in the history of man. I dont want what everyone else wants, I want my own dish. Who thought of this stupidity? Lets sit there and argue until we all agree on something, but in reality its not really what we want. We ended up ordering separate dishes...and getting to go boxes. The Spaghetti and Meatballs was horrible, second dish Ive ever sent back in 32 years on this planet. Watery, very little sauce that was worse than canned Ragu. The other people were a bit more happy, but seriously, family style? What are you guys communists?
