Disappointed because my son vomited this afternoon more than 4 times due to food poisoning thru driving on hwy169 and vomited more at home. And in regard to the dish of mussles we had, it lacked lemon, and the pies not great, and the floor seemed to be lacking pinesole. We drove long distances to visit such a restaurant but after the suffering of my son, we will never go to that chinese restaurant ever except the ones we have in Tulsa Oklahoma. My advice is that the Chinese Buffet on 7914 State Ave needs to be aware of adequate hygiene and cleaner serving utensils and definitely to avoid re-cooking any leftovers due to variations of temperature necessary for healthy and unspoiled assortment of food served. I hope the Health Department in Kansas City, Kansas, makes a surprised visit to the restaurant at any time, please. Thanks to God we have a "not bad" health insurance with bigger premium, but if we havent... other consequences might have been taken place tonight. But we are thankful the Jesus Christ has been with us thru this Christmas season. Such a restaurant need to have the priority of well cooked foods and to give better training for those in charge since the restaurent is their bread and butter. Merry Christmas and thank you for reading. Nadia F Shahwan, Provisional Interpreter Tulsa Ok, and Consultant at Kohks.

When I got there I was worried about the lack of choices in the buffet. The area is small and congested at dinner time and I almost walked over a few people. I sat down and DANG! The best tasting Chinese buffet Ive had since Houston. The honey chicken was A MA ZING! On my second go around I put a little bit of things Ive never really tried before and was over all satisfied. As I sat down with my second plate though, the lady brought me my check and said thank you for coming. So I decided Id go back for a third, as I am putting more honey chicken on my plate she walks behind me and loudly clears her throat. So when she was on the other side of the restaurant I made a quick dash back for more honey chicken and back to my seat. She stopped at my table and asked if there was anything else she could do for me and walked off. So I am completely full, but decided to have a little fun. I walked back up and made it look like I was getting another plate. She was making a face until I got some ice cream, paid my bill and left. I will definitely be telling other co-workers new to the area like me about this place though! I will be back :)

This is a wonderful Chinese buffet! While it is a smaller buffet, the selections are great! The staff ensure that everything is refilled promptly when it runs low. One never needs to worry about getting stuck with the "old" stuff as the food is rotated properly. The crab rangoon are among the best I have ever had in Kansas City. The food itself is delicious and very fresh--no dry chicken or beef. The honey chicken does not dry up as is common at other Chinese buffets. The staff is wonderful! My wife, myself, and my 18 month old son come in on a weekly basis. Not only are we treated great, but the staff goes to great lengths to make my son happy; hes a happy kid anyway, but I have never seen a restaurant staff cater to him like they do. The decor is a little old, along with the carpet, however, it is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been to, as there is not a speck of dirt/food on the carpet, even during their busy times. This is a true gem in Kansas City!

I liked visiting this small, family owned chinese buffet restaurant in the past, however my most recent experience completely turned me off of the restaurant altogether. A few weeks ago my daughter and I were planning on eating lunch there, and upon arriving we noticed that the chef/cook was outside the front door having a smoke break. I thought it odd that he was smoking around customers that entered and exited the building, but thats not what put us off. It was him hacking a big spit ball directly in front of us as we were approaching the building. Upon seeing this, we turned around, got back in the car, and went to another Chinese restaurant. Simply put, if the chef was that nonchalant and unconcerned about sanitation around customers, than I can only imagine what his kitchen and cooking style must look like.

So me and my roommates once used to eat at this place and we used to get delivery but we wont be eating at this establishment anymore as they apparently and suddenly only do deliveries at hotels now and upon questioning them about this they suddenly became very rude with me and my pregnant roommate. Sadly this is the only decent Chinese buffet in kck but their food is repetitive and now that they no longer do deliveries to houses and apartments for god only knows why they have lost what was regular customers and on that note did you also know that no other Chinese place delivers here either. ...sad isnt it...anyways lucky Chinese or rice bowl would certainly love your service or any other place other than this one.

So me and my boyfriend went on a Sunday. Just as they was opening. We sat down after we got food from the buffet. As we started eating we noticed the food was COLD. So we stopped eating the food didnt return to the buffet. I approached the lady at the counter and told her that the food was cold. To me it seemed like it was reheating from Saturday service. She immediately got offensive and started yelling at us to get out and to pay for the bill. I paid for the entire bill with no discount. I mean we was just hungry but not hungry for a discount. I will never return to this place. To bad google makes u give them at least 1 star because I wouldnt have done that! $30 bucks lost.

I came from Omaha to visit Great Wolf Lodge and was recommended to Chinese Buffett from one of the ads in the hotel. So we went there. When I walked into the door, I wasnt at all impressed. There were only 2 food counters and the selections was very small. There were barely anything there. The fruits were stale. The foods were not hot..barely warm. But on the other hand, the staffs were very nice and friendly. I havent eaten anywhere else in Kansas City but since people are considering this to be the best, then Im assuming Kansas doesnt have any quality foods to offered. Thank you.

AMAZING! My husband and I are truck drivers and wanted something different and after reading reviews we decided to come here. The reviews are a little misleading. Everything is handmade, my favorite were the crab ragoons best ever!! Its Christian owned at least thats the impression I got, I saw a plaque with the 10 commandments and they told us merry Christmas as we left. Theyre open almost all day and the service is amazing, I didnt have to tell them I needed something to drink or to take away my plate. Food and service were FANTASTIC as a tourist Im very glad I ate here

Fantastic! Though this restaurant may not compare to some large buffets in size and may not be as new, but they unquestionably trumph all restaurants in the aspect of quality. They have some dishes that were uniquely created by the owner and cooks themselves. Several of their dishes are even handmade, daily by their employees, such as their dumplings and crab ragoons. Both of which are to die for! My favorite part of this restaurant is the service. The owner is basically always there and busy at work creating a lively atmosphere.
