Slow service and drab geriatric decor about put me to sleep during the 15 minutes before someone finally came to get our drink order. Once our waitress arrived she was very polite and attentive, but the kitchen was glacially slow. With it not being very busy, I had trouble rationalizing why that could be. After being there almost 45 minutes and our main courses finally arriving, the food was quite good with my sirloin perfectly cooked and well seasoned and my girlfriends pork chops juicy and with a beautiful char on them. The kids meals were pretty impressive considering the simple nature of the typical kids meal. Overall the experience left me wanting, and seriously considering whether or not the almost $80 I spent after tip was worth it.

Our service was pretty good. I do recommend the prime rib because it definitely is prime cut and with excellent flavor. Its nice they allow multiple different sides including salad and vegetable which dont cost extra.. The cheesecake was good but nothing write home about.

Homestyle meals to go are the best deals in town! Service is sometimes slow. In house meals are a bit pricey but of decent quality. One the best restaurant options in Oskaloosa.
