I am probably the worlds most pickiest eater! We moved to Cedar Rapids back in June and we wanted a new place to try and after looking at a couple pictures I was very skeptic about going. I ordered the Chicken Chimichangas with only fajita chicken and cheese. Yes its odd but again, PICKY lol. I also ordered a large margarita because my husband and I had no kids and "why not?!?". Not only was the food AMAZING but the drink was as well. About half way into my drink (which I swear it was a never ending drink) they walked over with a bottle and asking if I wanted a "splash" more. Sure why not! All in all, we now go about once a week and my kids LOVE IT. Its our new favorite place to go.

Especially nice Mexican restaurant. They serve the largest portions of food Ive seen. My large plate was completely filled. The chips and salsa were delicious. Entrees were good too. The hostesses worked really hard to find me an accessible table for my wheelchair. The building was obviously converted from some other kind of fast food place and they did a great job. Convivial atmosphere. The music was just a little loud but they happily turned it down when I asked. I had a burrito with steak and chorizo served with sauce, cheese, rice, beans, quacomole and sour cream. Delicious. We will go back.

Was not impressed at all. They dont know how to fry chimichangas correctly, they were over cooked, way over cooked. I asked for it to all come with queso and it came with very little, to no queso. So I a askked if I could have some more queso for the chimichangas since there wasnt barely any, they charged me $3.50 and made me pay for it. Will not be going back. Not worth the money at all.

Very good Mexican and tableside guac! You gotta love a place with tableside guacamole! I had chicken fajitas - plentiful meat and good flavor. Wife had steak tacos, very good. I cant give it 5 stars because El Bajio is down the street with better and cheaper food - and also tableside guac. I wouldnt hesitate to go back, but again - El Bajio is better.

When the enchiladas are served with brown sauce but the menu states red...cant truly be called authentic. Very busy place that could seriously use a 2nd bartender who knew how to mix drinks properly. My first drink was all tequila..the next was all Coca-Cola. Ill eat there again but Ill be more precise in what I order!

Have gone here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Had great experiences with food and service both times. The staff really knows the menu inside and out! So many good things to choose from, and they always have a recommendation for you if you dont have any idea what to get! They have a little bit of everything!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Cedar Rapids! Service is always extra friendly. Food has been tasty and comes in huge portions. Chips, salsa and guac are fantastic. I barely have enough room for the actual food. Margaritas are solid and they are quick to top you off. You definitely need to give this place a chance.

Ive been here many times. A few years ago my girlfriend at the time and a couple friends would go every Sunday. It may sound silly, but everyone made us feel like family. From topping off our drinks to salsa dancing in-between tables. I love the energy there and dont get me started on their food. MY FAVORITE PLACE.

Ive eaten Mexican food all over the nation, and this place has very bland food, just like most places in Iowa. So if you dont expect the typical spicy flavors of a Mexican grill, its ok. The margaritas were very sweat, and definitely not worth the money.

Asked for fishbowl margaritas and received regular size but was charged for fish bowl and when asked about the receipt the response from our waiter was "thats because you ordered flavored". It also took an hour and a half to get our food. I wont be returning.

Here for the first time with family last night and absolutely loved it! I had the Huevos Mexicano which was delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere combined perfectly for a fantastic meal and overall experience! I would recommend Los Compadres to anyone!

Love this place! Great food, fun, and service. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff & management know how to treat their clientele, so that they will come back again, and again! Oh, OMT...I highly recommend their Mon-Fri lunch buffet!

Best Tasting Mexican Food in Cedar Rapids! Margaritas are made with Great Tequila, especially when you get them from the barrel. (not made from a Mix, I know the owner) The staff is very friendly. This is a must of eat place in Cedar Rapids!!!

Came to try some tasty mexican, was not disappointed! One of the better Mexican restaurants Ive been to in Cedar Rapids. We came in late, but the service was incredibly attentive and fast, and our food came out in less than 15 minutes

Ive never been impressed with the service. On the positive side, the food is pretty good. Also, they have a small buffet which includes the drink for $10. It makes for a good quick meal when youre short on time but dont want fast food.

This was my favorite mexican resturant until we went last year and 8 out of the 9 of us ended up with food poisoning only I didnt get ill and thats because I didnt like the new dish I ordered so I didnt eat, havent been back since.

Super fun but laid back bar with excellent food. Loud environment makes for hard dinner conversation, but its a very fun place to go and eat. The food is amazing, and Ive been told the margaritas are fantastic as well.

Had the pork Chile Colorado, it was excellent authentic Mexican food. Pork was tender and the sauce was rich and flavorful, nice and hot but not too hot. Definitely recommend this place. Staff is friendly and courteous.

The staff was very friendly and down to earth. Some of the best guacamole in town. Authentic Mexican salsa. The Carne Azada was a tad salty today. But when Ive gotten it before it was delicious.

Delicious, well prepared dishes makes Los Compadres our favorite Mexican restaurant in CR. The made at your table guacamole is good. You often see them topping off margaritas with tequila too.

I called to see if they have a gluten free menu or options. They put the phone down and then came back and hung up on me!! I tried to call back and they wouldnt answer the phone! HOW RUDE!
