My review is going to be a little mixed. Honestly, the biggest reason I had fun was because of the people I was with - my husband and our two good friends. We just cracked jokes all night and enjoyed each others company. The other couple that sat with us was very sweet and we were lucky to share a table with them. However, I could see the experience being very different if you are with people you dont know or are not comfortable with at least some level of role playing. The food was amazing. I was very pleased with each course, and the cake we had for dessert was probably one of the best Ive ever tasted in my life. One thing that made the night a little uncomfortable was the number of tables and chairs that were crammed in the room for the amount of people that signed up. We were so close that it was impossible to move and the waitresses had a hard time serving. Going to the restroom was very difficult. Due to the number of the people in the room it was at times loud and hard to hear each other talking and if people werent absolutely silent it was even a little hard to hear the hostess at first. The house is absolutely beautiful though and made for a great atmosphere! You could tell the hostess really enjoyed running the game and watching everyone be involved and have fun, which helped the atmosphere even more. I learned during the dinner that the hostess actually has nothing to do with the scripts/scenarios as this location is a chapter and we were playing against other chapters in different states so I thought that was interesting. It made me feel better about not liking the mystery, honestly. It was poorly written and the clues made no sense. We thought they did of course so at the end my table made our accusation as to which character we thought was the murderer and we had four solid reasons why we chose this person. However, out of all the locations playing this same game, including ours, NO ONE got the answer correct and we were all shocked. When the answer was given the entire room was puzzled as to how we were supposed to come to that conclusion, and some people even asked the hostess. She stated, "With dessert so and so received this item which connects them as the murderer". The problem was, at several tables including my own that item was given to the wrong character. I dont think it wouldve mattered though, because it still confused everyone and didnt make sense. I dont think the hostess knew how to respond to the mistake of the clue. She said, "Oh. Well, it was supposed to go to so and so. Sorry about that. Have a good night everyone!" I dont know how I wouldve responded either in her position, especially if this is the first time this has ever happened. My table wondered if other clues were given incorrectly or not, but honestly like I said - I dont think it mattered since it seemed to be a poor script/story and not well put together. I was just happy to hear this is not at the fault of the hostess since she didnt know the outcome either until it was given to hear near the end via text. One other thing that disappointed me was there were only two waitresses for all of the people in that room so our glasses were almost always empty of drink. I dont believe this to be the fault of the staff since it wasnt due to the lack of effort. They just needed at least one more person in my eyes because they are so busy preparing each course then delivering it to the various tables. I didnt want to make a big deal out of it at the dinner though since they were obviously busy running around trying to get it all done, I felt they were doing their best. When coming to this event I do recommend trying to arrive on time or even early. There were several people that got there late, including an entire party of 8 by like a half hour. It was very disruptive since they were walking in as the hostess was giving instructions and explaining the plot. Please be courteous of others!

Made an appointment to take my British mom to tea for her 72nd birthday. Made the appointment on August 5th and they said their first opening for tea was Sept 6 due to private showers and stuff. So, took my mom on Sept 6 and they didnt have a reservation for us, had a shower scheduled and so we couldnt have tea. We had both planned our Saturday around this, had dressed nice, had driven all the way to Zionsville and the lady acted like it was our fault. Thankfully the hostess was really great and tried to resolve the issue. Needless to say, we are now going back next Saturday, so this will take up two of our Saturdays to get to experience "tea" and celebrate the birthday. I would have just cancelled, but I had already bought the Groupon and planned it for my mom for her birthday. I understand things like this happen, but it was very awkward and I felt like they thought it was my fault. I came home and went back through my emails from the day I made the appointment and it was definitely for that day & time. Since it was an issue on their end I would have thought theyd offer us an upgrade on our tea or something to account for our time wasted, but instead it felt like we were a bother. We will see how tea is next week. They accommodated us by taking us and saying we could have tea upstairs while they have a shower downstairs, otherwise we would have had to wait until November, but Im nervous that we will just be a side note. I will give another review of the tea experience after next week.

Manners Matter class - big rip off. Signed up the family for this. Their website claims its from 5-7 pm. They also state, "A family of up to six participants experience a three course dinner learning all the techniques of initial impressions, presentation, chivalrous behavior, conversational topics, utensil usage and so much more." First this wasnt private as I thought. Basically the whole restaurant participates. Lady got up and spent 5 minutes max talking about the place setting, napkins usage, etc. And that was it. It was dinner with a Cliff Notes on table settings. There was no instruction on anything. It was basically false advertising. $60 for a bad meal in a cramped, hot restaurant. As far as the food goes, very small portions. The dessert was good. We has pecan pie, chocolate cake and lemon cake and everyone enjoyed them. Main course was the opposite. Wife and I had chicken and pork, respectively. Both were very dry; my pork was lukewarm at best. The rice was salty and the broccoli was stone cold. Kids had chicken strips; I tasted them and they tasted (and looked like) they were out of the frozen section at the grocery store. Oh and it was over at 6:05. Please, dont waste your money.

We attended the Backwards Dinner. Concept was fun as you start with dessert first and salad last. Tableside Magician was good. Food was very inconsistent. Both my husband and I had tiramisu. His portion was noticeably larger than mine. I looked around the room and some of the desserts like a chocolate cake were just slivers of dessert. For the main course we had the salmon. My husband had about an 8 oz portion, mine might have been 3 oz. Salmon was about 1/8 inch thick and overcooked. I think it may have been from a bag of frozen salmon. Wild rice was mushy and no hint of salt or any other flavor. Steamed vegetables were the best part of the meal. Salad was served with ranch dressing (no other salad dressing option) and I kid you not it was straight out of the bag. I had two grape tomatoes and shredded cheese on my iceburg lettuce blend. My husband had a couple of grape tomatoes, several slices of radishes, shaved carrots and shredded cheese on his.
