The best BBQ Brisket and Ribs in Indiana. My wife is through and through Texas girl. Two things she says Yankees cannot make correctly are country fried steak and brisket. Well she was right. The owner was trained in Fort Worth area and is very friendly. The restaurant has both a bar area and a separate family dining area with its own entrance. They have no problem customizing orders to suit you and are very friendly. The building may not look like much, but it is kept clean and has allot of space. The only reason I didnt leave 5 stars was because the AC went out when were in there. I know its a small gripe, but atmosphere is part of what you pay for at a restaurant and no discount was offered due to the lack of comfort. I know this is not a big deal for allot of people but I just cannot give 5 stars... but it is darn close.

My husband and I went here with our four small children. The waitress seemed happy to serve us. She was very kind and knew the menu well. We ordered 3 kids meals for the the kids that would be eating (the youngest is still eating milk) and we both got the all you can eat walleye. The kids meals had so much food they could have split one meal. The pulled pork was outstanding!! The walleye was amazing. We also got Cole slaw, steak fries, baked potatoes and onion rings. The baked potatoes werent great but literally everything else was so good! Weve lived in Waverly for a couple years now and were wondering now why weve never gone here before. It was so so good! Service was excellent too! Well definitely be back.

Completely unpretentious place..waitresses are great, warm, friendly, and efficient. Food is excellent and plentiful. We had the "all you can eat walleye lunch," and spiced Grouper. The sides of steak fries, chef potato (think twice baked potato), cole slaw, and beans were all memorable. This will be our new "come to place" for great down home food, easy going atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Its not too far to drive from Bloomington. Great place to stop after picking someone up at the airport on the way to Bloomington. Enjoy!

Not great. We saw the sign for BBQ on our way home and it sounded good... And the sign said it won some award. it is around 5pm on a Tuesday and the parking lot is empty. But were hungry. Walking in we realize its a bar... Ive had plenty of good food in bars, so still willing to give it a try. It was just... Blah. The Whiskey River BBQ sauce was incredibly sweet... The other two sauces were better, though I am pretty sure one was a Kraft brand. The waitress was kind and attentive without being annoying.

Very nice waitress. Excellent food. Had the pulled pork. Sandwich wasnt huge but the pork was very good. Requested fries done crispy and they obliged. Only negative is that they dont have a hot BBQ sauce (the waitress said the owner has been developing one), but the ones they have are good and made in-house; one a smokey whiskey sauce and the other a standard sweet sauce.

Tucked away off route 37 South behind a gas station, Whiskey River BBQ is a no nonsense, no frill restaurant/bar constructed of wood walls, floors and an ambiance that says theyve been there forever, (actually 25 years.) Generous portions of some of the best smoked brisket and pork this Central Ohioan has ever had... you gotta check it out!

We showed up and found 7 tables dirty. Then the waitress were under staffed. They were not that busy. Our food came late and seemed to have been under the warmer for a while. Then we are sitting at our table and Emts showed up and ran right into my chair and said nothing. Customer service realy needs help. They act clueless.

Yummy yummy yummy. Always great service (mind you we are somehow always managing to arrive mid afternoon). Complete hole in the wall with amazing food to match. Get fried okra as your side, you wont regret it. Weve had the tenderloin, brisket, pork, and brisket wedge salad(super yummy).

Stopped on our way through the area, walleye was good, tenderloin was not, could not eat it, thin and hard. We were over charged for our drinks. Would not stop here again. Very old and dirty.

The absolute worst brisket Ive ever had. It was boiled or had been around for to long. They didnt even cut the meat the proper way.
