I really wanted to love this place! I went to this restaurant based on the other reviews. I hate to do this but....the egg drop was the worst ever.......it was slightly sweet with an odd flavor and the eggs were at the bottom with something that appeared like oil floating on top. Nasty! The soup is $2.99. I got the Hunan Chicken with a spice level of 8. It was a spice level of 55! FULL of red pepper flakes and grease. Granted...I asked for it spicy but spice aside, it just did not have a good flavor from what I could ascertain through all the heat. The rice? It was not good either. It was stale, hard (under cooked) and cold. The only good thing I could say it was a good sized portion but I found it inedible. I through out all of my food. $13.00! When I got back home from the trash dumpster and Taco Bell, I could still smell the pungent odor of that nasty food lingering in my apartment. Seriously. Im burning a candle as we speak. The owner is a nice guy and I hate to bash a small business but I felt compelled to warn my fellow foodies especially those on a budget. Im highly disappointed and wasted $13.

Can I give 6 stars? For a carry out place, the General Tsos was the best Ive had. Not overly breaded, not drown in sauce. Think Changs Spicy Chicken but half the cost. FAST service. Previous reviews mention only 1-2 gentlemen working here. As of today (3-18-16) there were 2 gentlemen (1 in back cooking, the other carrying food around the dining area) and a nice young lady that helped me right when I first arrived. I called in the order and was given a 15 minute time frame which they easily made. Now not only is the food top notch but the staffing is prepared for a lunch rush (when I went in at 12:30pm on a Friday all tables appeared full). This will be a regular stop for me from now on for sure!

Our only Chinese takeout destination on the NW side. This location added staff in 2016 and is now much more responsive and available. As that was the only legitimate concern, I dont know why you would order anywhere else. The location/atmosphere is a little...odd...the Frank Sinatra music constantly playing in a Chinese restaurant can make you scratch your head. But NONE OF THAT MATTERS as the food is near perfectly done with good ingredients. Highly recommend the Fragrant Chicken or seafood version. We tried the Yum Yum Chicken at others suggestions here but that seemed a little simple and mostly like a slightly different flavored fried chicken.

Mr. Lees place is the best Chinese I have had. Plan on making a couple of friends while youre in there, including the owner (the aforementioned Mr. Lee...lol). He is the nicest guy. He knows and remembers all of my kids names every time we go. Plan on a relaxed atmosphere with great food and a magnificent host. I hope you like the Rat Pack, also, because thats his favorite kind of music & I make sure to bring him the newest compilation CDs released. Oh, and last, but absolutely not least, you must try the Yum Yum Chicken. Do yourself a favor and tell him "make it 3 out of 10 spicy." Hell know what you mean. Enjoy!

Imperial Palace is hands down the best Chinese food Ive ever had. Everything tasted fresh. The beef fried rice was very clearly made to order. The General Tsos chicken was crunchy. And the Yum Yum Chicken was like nothing Ive ever tried before. Even the broccoli was steamed perfectly. Bobby is also very friendly and personable. My family is from Philly and were only in Indianapolis for one day to see the MotoGP. Still, we made it a point to visit this wonderful restaurant twice. Do yourself a favor and visit this place ASAP. You will be hooked!

Very nice service. Order was ready for pickup when promised. Take credit and cash. Food was fine but not outstanding. Wontons in the soup were the same dumplings that they used for their potstickers (thick wrapper not thin) and the broth was tasty but abut oily. Potstickers were nice and not over fried. General Tao chicken was good. I added a photo of their menu as they do not have one posted online. I may have selected and enjoyed other dishes more had I known what was available.

Lunch combo was just over $6, I really liked the garlic chicken, the garlic was not over powering like other chinese places I have tried. I am a contractor so I eat at lunch places all over Indy. The main guy there is super appreciative of your buisness and he is very friendly and provides fast customer service. That being said, it isnt the best chinese place but it is a solid choice and still very good. I will definetly stop in for luch again when I am working in the area.

Hidden oasis for carefully crafted versions of the standard strip mall Chinese. Dining room is tiny and crowded with large plants, which somehow works to transport you to another time and place. The service is delightfully bubbly and friendly, making for a great experience complete with the Rat Pack crooning on the sound system. The food is better than most places but portions are smaller and speed can be very inconsistent. But a wonderful spot to escape the usual fare.

Nothing like it! The food isnt like most other Chinese restaurants - it is very fresh. I called to place an order one day, but it was closed (during regular hours). The chef actually called me back shortly after and apologized because he was out buying fresh vegetables. The whole place seems to be run by this one man who provides better customer service than you could even ask for. He gets flooded with orders and still keeps up to make quality food!

The food was good. I wont go into details because the other comments pretty much sum up the atmosphere. You can expect a one-man-operation here and some classic Sinatra playing. The cost added up quickly and caught me a little off; but it was worth it, so I cant ding a star for that. The servings can definitely be served family style (probably supposed to be actually). Two entrees would easily feed 3 people considering the amount of rice you get.

Simply amazing! Have been here 3 times now in the last year and all 3 have been a great experience. Bobby Lee used to run this place by himself, and at 71 years old, passed it to his nephew. Nothing has changed! Food is made from scratch, full of flavor, perfect quantity and very friendly place. It does take a lil while to get food, but its only one person cooking, cleaning, answering phones, ect. And he does a great job! Will always come here.

Bobby makes all his own sauces, and he always uses better quality ingredients. Hes on his own, so dont be in a hurry. If you like tofu, get it fried. Its crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Ask for the General Tsos with fried tofu. You wont be disappointed. Spicy level goes from 1-10. 10 has a hanero in it, and it will make you sweat. Sinatra playing, and posters of Marilyn Monroe on the walls.
