My wife and I had been to other Great Wall restaurants before this and the last one was fine. This one was ok till I took one bite of food. Nothing on their buffet looked appetizing so I figured I would start with something that I liked being wanton soup. The meat had some weird spices on it and tasted terrible. My wife picked up some rice which was ok and green beans with an incredible over abundance of garlic on it. I picked up some broccoli which was covered in sauce that was edible. I also picked up some mushrooms and chicken although I barely could find any chicken. My wife picked up some egg rolls which had no taste and crab rangoon which equally tasteless with out dousing it in sweet and sour sauce. I then though ok what can the possibly not mess up. So I got some sweet and sour chicken unfortunately I didnt learn from the chicken and mushrooms of how much chicken would be in this dish. An incredible amount of breading encompassed a small sliver of chicken. I also picked up some fresh pineapple which luckily was good. Shortly after we got our check and I had something to say to the person who was checking me out. I was given 10% off the meal which was probably the worst meal Ive ever eaten out. I then went back to the table and the fortune cookies were there and I thought surely these have to be decent. Sadly I was disappointed again. On the drive home my wife felt as if she needed to vomit. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food Poisoning!!!!!!!! Should have listened to reviews about this place. order a sweet tea which had no flavor at all tasted like dish water. got the shrimp, chicken, fried fish and salmon. ate around 630pm last night, around 1100pm began sitting on the john and stomach cramping bad. no sleep had to be at work at 5, called boss and told him I would be late. Lost 3.5hrs of work due to this incident. this place needs a real cook, glad I didnt eat the sushi. Almost went to the hospital because of cramping. rest of family was fine but they did not eat any fish. Never again ,, the fried fish tasted like it was frozen dinner fish, seemed to be reheated and the salmon was cold sitting in the pan. I used to do environmental for my old job so this is definitely a case of poisoning. BEWARE of this place you have been warned!!!!!!!!

Would leave 0 stars if I could. After checking out the buffet, we decided to go somewhere else because the food did not look good. The waitress followed us out and demanded that we pay her for our drinks that we had not even taken a drink of. She tried to grab the keys out of my wifes hand. At our car, she grabbed onto a door handle and would not let go. I offered her all the change I had in my car, she refused. (I planned on paying with a card, but at this point, I was not going to give her my credit card. If I had cash for the amount she was demanding, I would have just given it to her.) A man who also worked there came out and took a photo of our license plate. I offered him the change and he took it. This was the craziest restaurant expirience.

Its all about expectations, for my $8 I could get a sandwich fries and a coke for lunch or choose from twenty entrees and salad and soups. They have the best crab Rangoon, chicken wings, beef in garlic sauce (looks like beef and broccoli but zippier), black pepper chicken, and I like to mix the hot and sour soup and the wonton soup. Are there things that I dont touch on the buffet, of course but there are things at every restaurant I dont touch. The biggest weakness is that they need to change it up, and introduce new things. The sushi was a good addition but now it is the same four rolls. If you order off the menu get Dragon meets Phoenix and they have the best huge shrimp.

This place does look horrible, but you dont go there to eat their carpet or lounge in their restroom. When you charge $6.20 for a great lunch buffet, then you dont have enough money to remodel the place. Food was fresh, great tasting, good selection, cannot complain about anything but one item, mushrooms with cheese need more flavor/spices :). Ive been to many Chinese buffets, mostly in illinois, and this one is really pretty good, especially for the price. Right now, 9 hours later, no hurt burn, no burps, no stomach episodes, that means the food was GOOD. Cant say that about ANY fast food.

The food was left in over a long period of time. The Donuts hard as a rock/little to no sugar on them, most of the verity tasted bland and not even remotely hot. The mens bathroom was disgusting. I felt like I stepped back in Iraq it was that nasty. The placement of the mens uranyl is positioned that when you open the mens bathroom door everyone in the buffet section can see you doing your business. I eat at a lot of places. And I pay attention to every small detail. Do not go to this place. Very below standard in my book. Go to McDonalds first.

Ordered food for delivery, realized no one asked how Id like to pay, I called back, at first they didnt know what I was talking about, after trying to explain I did not get charged & would be a simple transaction, I got hung up on, after the 3 rd attempt to call, I was accused of being drunk, just for simply to pay for my order. I can no longer access my account, or simply log into my email... makes you stop & think what is really happining.. You will be hearing from my lawyer!!

This restaurant ironically named Great Wall is an establishment That would better be named Great Shame. The food looks bad and tastes worse. They value quantity over quality. The first bite broke my heart, and the second bite killed me. I then found myself crawling through a dark tunnel and at the end there was a sign. It said Great Wall then I knew I was in trouble. I tried to go back but a firey hand pushed me forward. Luckily the paramedics revived me before it was too late.

I eat there every so often but i get carry out once a week and like there food except for a few exceptions for instance there appetizers section there chicken wings use to be large and you would get 9 of them now there little bitty things and you get 7 way over cooked wings.There deep fried shrimp say you get 21 of them but forget that you usually get 20 and there so over cooked there like jerky.I think they should change cooks.

Oh, wow.. this is the worst Chinese food Ive ever had, tv dinners included. I cant believe they stay open with a decent one in Michigan city and a good one in valpo. Its definitely worth the 20 drive away from here to get editable food. Horrorible disgusting food. Im sure they are doing it on purpose, because nothing is accidentally this bad. Im not even kidding, its bad.
