This is the most unique dining experience my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of sharing. The owner greeted our party at the door with handshakes and a warm friendly welcoming. The waitress was very knowledge about the menu and had lots of suggests to help ease our inquisitive minds. After the order was placed and our drinks were on the table the owner again approached us. His kind nature explaining Ethiopian culture and how exactly people are treated as guests as if invited into their own home. He truly made us feel like were visiting his home. Explaining that his wife was the cook and that whenever they serve you they believe the food is surrounded by angels. It was a very powerful eating experience for our entire party. The food was absolutely delicious. All of the ingredients are fresh and from the earth. We immediately made reservations to come back to celebrate Valentines day with them. Thank you so much your exquisitely beautiful and unique ambiance and the splendid food. It was a honor and a blessing to dine with you all. ❤️

Beautiful restaurant with many dishes I have grown accustomed to seeing on Ethiopian menus, with the exception of Awase Tibs. I visited during lunch and the server was very pleasant and friendly. Prices are in line with other Ethiopian restaurants. The only disappointment I can note is that the injera appears to be made with wheat flour rather than tef, so it was a paler color and slightly gummy. Still overall a very good experience. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others. I did not get a chance to try any of the coffee offerings but I am excited to return in the morning and sample some of the many options they offer.

Super Awesome Christian Ethiopian food…. Cant recommend it enough!! Best since I lived in DC! Hailed and his wife are the best! Great coffee too! A spiritual experience. Ask about the Tej for a drink. Ambasha bread (pictured): "…spiritually fulfilling and physically delightful, a spiced and freshly baked wheat bread, prepared to be "broken" in commemoration of the Last Supper. Ambasha is served with a homemade Eyib (Ethiopian cottage cheese) and honey" The platter (pictured): "…Injera sponge bread w serving of three exquisite meat dishes (Doro Wot, Ye-Siga Tibs, and Ye-Beg Alicha) with seven vegetarian dishes"

I can not express how much I love this place. The food is amazing, the owners and employees love to talk their customers, and it is such a lovely atmosphere. The owners are super nice and genuinely want to know how you are doing. On the left side of the restaurant there is a bar and on the right side is a coffee bar. They have some booths as well as one large table for large parties. The whole restaurant has authentic textiles, art work, and effigies from Ethiopia. I truly recommend this place for the adventurous eater and for someone who wants to embrace and learn about a new culture.

The staff are ultra nice, owner usually takes the time to chat and get to know you. So you always feel welcomed. Food is quite well. The usage of spices with the food and unique eating style make for a flavor explosion. The tea and coffee are also superb, while the coffee is lacking in punch for those who enjoy a quality dark roast. Recommend ordering Ambasha! Soft almost sweet bread with honey and cottage cheese.

Really really good food that was very flavorful, plenty, right temperature, and fresh. Customer service was great; waiter was really knowledgeable although there was $7 split charge which seemed unnecessary and a little high. Manager visited our table and asked how we were doing and shared with us Ethiopian traditions of food and hospitality which was nice. Will definitely revisit!

The owner came to talk to us and make sure everything was Ok. Nice family run business. Best chai tea Ive had. The food is amazing. Ill come every week. I had the white fish this time and it is my favorite. Last time I ate here my boyfriend and I shared the meat combination plate and the server gave fantastic recommendations. Love this restaurant.

My sweet sister-in-law purchased a gift certificate for me to St. Yared Ethiopian restaurant. I enjoyed the experience last night, it was truly an adventure. The food was delicious with wonderful spices. I will look forward to returning to St. Yareds in the near future. The owner was very helpful describing the menu to us.

The most authentic and only Ethiopian food experience I have had. So take that for what it is worth. The owner is very passionate about his Ethiopian heritage and will most likely talk to you about it. The food is amazing and the decor makes for a very cozy atmosphere. Very vegetarian friendly. Recommend the coffee.

The food and service was absolutely excellent. My mother and I felt like family while we were dining in. Everything was excellent including the coffee. I bought a bag of freshly roasted yirgacheffe to take home. Highly recommended if youre open to try something new and desiring to embrace another cultures cuisine.

Excellent food. Lots of options (especially vegetarian ones). The platter is very filling and is value-worthy if you are visiting as a group. The staff is very friendly, and the owner visits the table a few times for friendly conversations. Very interesting decor all around.

The owner is probably the nicest person youll ever meet. The food is amazing and the price is not bad considering taste and portion size. Youll get much less for much more most other places, so if you want some healthy and tasty food, this place is an absolute must.
