Today was the first time I have been in Cow Palace for awhile and after going there today with my family,Well I remember why. First off the waitress (Reesa) was in a big hurry and very rude. Then a family member ordered a shake and we never got it until we ask about it when paying the check. We were never asked if we needed refills on our drinks either. Then while checking out we had to ask for bill since it was never brought to table. After we were checking out they over charged us almost $20. Then when we asked to see the check and we didnt even get what was on it. It was a huge waste of time and I will never return!!!

I went there specifically to get a nice cold old fashioned milk shake in a metal container and was given a runny milkshake in a to-go cup even though I was sitting in the dining room. THEN I was told to get behind about 20 people that were just buying ice cream to pay for the meal I had just eaten in the dining room. THEN I was told by the bitchy older lady at the counter that their credit card machine was down so I would need to go to an Atm to get cash!!!

We had a waitress, Andrea, that seems perturbed that we were there. We ordered a chicken sandwich that was full of gristle with tomatoes that were almost white (in peak tomato season) and iceberg lettuce. My daughter is a vegetarian and asked if the black bean soup had meat in it, which Andrea replied, "I dont know" and walked away. It came out about ten minutes later and had meat in it so my daughter just ate fries for lunch.

Times have changed as this shop has. Once owned by the same family for decades. Made their own milk which many bought in the form of "Milk in a bag". Great idea and great milk. Still have good dinners to sit and eat but may be a wait and a bit loud. Ice cream is still good but not like they were known for. At one time we had 3-4 Comptons here in town, now just the diner.

This place is only getting one star because you cant leave anything less. The redhead behind the counter was beyond rude. Loudly stating that she was busy and didnt have time for us the customers. I brought 13 people into this establishment in my hometown as guests and was deeply embarrassed by the service. How I wish Comptons still owned this! Horrible!

A nice little cafe. Food is fairly good, albeit a bit pricey. The caveat is you get a bit bigger portion than usually associated with a red-neck place. The atmosphere is family style, and seating is pleasant , but cramped. The ice cream has lost its unique flavor now that they dont make it themselves, but still, hard hand-dipped ice cream is hard to beat.

Prices have gone up and quantity has gone down. Ice cream is no longer anymore special than grabbing a quart at Walmart and taking it home. Unless you consider the staff taking care of you and not having to dip that ice cream yourself. Staff is normally good but it does depend on who is working the floor while you are there!

Great food, great ice cream and great service. Definitely two thumbs up for me. Ive been going to the Cow Palace since I was a little kid. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Hand scooped ice cream for milkshakes, thick and delicious! A must go when in the area.

Cooked to order food served fast. My favorites Brown Swiss Burger and in season the peppermint ice cream in a hot fudge sundae. Weve been stopping here on our way to Cincy for over 20 years.
