I am a self-described "foodie" and enjoy the opportunity to try local restaurants that pride themselves on a culinary experience. It was obvious from the moment we walked in the door that Oakleys was just that. The service was great, thanks to Megan, who was knowledgable about the menu and really seemed to have a genuine passion for food and sharing it with others. We ordered almost exclusively based on her suggestions and were not disappointed. We ordered two starters, first the Gnocchi, which were like little pillows of heaven accompanied by a wonderfully textured and full flavor sauce with the andouille providing just enough kick to make it all interesting. Our second starter was the Suckling Pig, again a great mix of flavors, including goat cheese and a touch of BBQ sauce, which happens to be one of my favorite flavor surprises. As our main course we split the Pork and Pork, it too was amazing, alive with flavor. The risotto was a nice touch with an earthy sweetness that brought the dish to a whole new level. When Megan told us that the Brownie dessert was to die for, we couldnt refuse and again, she was absolutely right! Of course the food presentation was excellent and the atmosphere was trendy while still being intimate and comfortable. I will visit this restaurant again and again. It is a dont miss in Indy!

Fantastic food and excellent service. Its one of the only restaurants in the state that reminds me of the trendy eating establishments in Northern California. My only gripe (and its just a personal preference) is with the deconstructed desserts. The piece of pie I recently ordered looked as if it had been in some sort of unfortunate industrial accident, and I felt too sorry for it to eat it. Other than that, I can wholeheartedly state that anyone who appreciates truly good food should thank Jesus, Jehovah, Buddha, Brahma, or Allah (pick your poison) that Steven Oakley still chooses to call central Indiana home.

Oakleys bistro is a gem of a restaurant. Always an excellent dinner and service when I make my way here. Be sure to try chef Stevens shrimp corn dog. Truly a unique and delightful appetizer. Choose any entree and you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend for an intimate dinner or larger gathering of 10-15. There is wine tasting on Tuesdays and when the weather is warm they offer out door seating. See you there!

The food and service were quite good, but the ambiance was a little drab. Something didnt line up during our visit. Maybe the interior felt a bit low-budget; like it wanted to be a bar. For the style of restaurant I was expecting, this didnt feel right. Im not sure if Id be back, but not because of the food or service. Perhaps its just not my style of restaurant.

Certainly one of the best, if not THE best, restaurants in Indy. Consistently excellent, wonderful balancing of tastes & textures. Comparable venues in Chicago, NYC, SF would charge 2-3 times as much for similar quality! Great staff.
