Im new to Indy from South Texas so I was on the search for a taste of home. My girlfriend and I first chose El Sol, TERRIBLE DECISION. We were ignored for 15-20 minutes and upon looking at their menu it was an overpriced joke of Mexican Food. We then came to La Parada about a mile away, now this is the spot! Great size portions of REAL Mexican food. We walked out spending the cost of one entrée from El Sol with better service and I can promise better tasting and more authentic food than El Sol. If you are looking in this area trying to decide between the two do yourself and your wallet a favor and come here!

We sat here for over an hour waiting for food. It wasnt even busy, they only had maybe 8 tables. We also had to get our own refills because the waiter was non-existent... He claimed that they were behind because they had call in orders, once we finally managed to flag him down to let him know that we had to leave because our lunch break was over now. It somehow took them over 10 minutes just to ring out four drinks, and then the guy at the register had the gall to call one of my co-workers a b*tch because she was appalled they would even charge us for drinks after the horrendous service we had received.

This is one of those places which people overlook. Authentic Mexican restaurant period. Everyone is served with tortilla chips and fresh salsa the moment you take a seat. Have a wide variety of Mexican food, both for meat lovers and vegetarians. Huge portions for what you pay. The staff are of Mexican descent, and is mostly filled with local Mexican families so no question about authenticity of food. The portions are really huge and would fill you up. Worth every penny for what you spend. If you have a chance to swing by this place do visit it. Have the wonderful experience visit you.

First and last time coming here just because of their customer service. I ordered the #5-3 Pork Tameles that comes with rice and beans and they gave me only 3 Tameles so when I went back in for the rice and beans, the cashier argued with me instead of helping me. She charged me for 3 single Tameles instead of the #5 that I pointed to. She was rude and someone else had to come and help me with this small misunderstanding. Make sure you say exactly what your ordering otherwise they assume you want something else and arent friendly when you correct them.

If youre looking for great Mexican food, empecable service, and a cute hole in the wall this is TOTALLY the place. As soon as youre seated youre greeting with chips and Salsa. The servers are always smiling and incredibly polite. There is a lot to choose from, as far as cuisine. Definitely try one of their fresh water drinks, like Jamaica or Horchata. The Carnitas is my favorite. Slow roasted pork served with rice, beans, and salad. If you want amazing service, just ask for Suzy. We go maybe 5 times a month and shes always great.

Excellent!!! Ate there Sunday night with my niece Natalies family. They go there a lot. My 1st time. Best restaurant and Mexican restaurant I have ever ate at.I love the interior. Very colorful and happy. Quick and professional service! The food was excellent! Served fresh and hot! Very tasteful. They really try to do a good job. Give them a try! Im glad I did. I have always said I wish Mexican restaurants would put pictures of everything they have so I know what it is. ( And they do! ) Roy Denney New Castle, IN

This place is amazing! Hands down the best and some of the most authentic Mexican food weve found in Indy. All the food is delicious, with a selection of fresh salsas and corn tortillas for the tacos. In addition, the staff is excellent; very attentive, friendly, and provide great service. My boyfriend and I are both from the southwest and struggled to find good Mexican food in the Midwest, but have started making La Parada a regular spot!

I went there today for my dinner and order me a steak burrito when I got to my car I broke the burrito in half with my hand and not only was there one piece of long brown hair but also a long black piece of hair. Then for me to go back in and tell him about it they asked if they can make me another one hell to the no no no now give me my money back right now and I walked out they will never get my service they are nasty and disgusting.

Went on 2 different occasions. NASTIEST chimichanga & tamale I have EVER tried to eat!!! When the waitress came to get my tamale plate she asked me if everything was "ok" cause 7/8 of my food was still on the plate. How do you tell them, your tamale taste like dog food? So I told her no I wasnt hungry. If you want a REAL tamale go to, The Tamale Place on Rockville Rd or down south on US 31. I wouldnt feed this food to my dogs.

Over all great place. Well priced for the food. Food tasted great and had more selection than many other Mexican restaurants weve visited. Lived out west and down south so we couldve used a little more heat but everything was good. Highly recommend everyone give this place a shot. Was worth it. Service great, smiles and all. Food was better quality and tasted more like authentic or homemade cuisine. Loved it.

Delicious and affordable! This is a hidden gem on the near eastside. The baja-style menu is large and has something for eveyone. From ceviche to combo plates to menudo and beef tongue. This spot is well known for their amazing elotes (Mexican street corn) slathered in a creamy sauce, cotija cheese and tajin. Even my picky toddlers chow down on the elotes. We also love the fish tacos and housemade horchata.

I love La Parada. I have lived in Indy for 35 years and this is the best Mexican Restaurant in Indianapolis - their "hot" salsa is outstanding - its hot but great! Its a fun place to go and the owners are awesome. Ask to meet them if they are there (they are always there!) - they are delightful and only want everyone to enjoy themselves. Give La Parada a try - you will love it!!

Overall pretty terrible. Had a tamale once and it was super dry and tasted like dog food. Dont even try and order anything vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian dish once (listed on the menu) and it had canned peas and carrots on it. This place is WAY overrated from my experiences. Ive been 3 or 4 times and Im let down every time. Only good thing I can say is that elote is decent.
