I like a chunky salsa with a nice balance of heat, sweet and zesty; I enjoyed theirs (as did my white shirt). It went well with the tasty margaritas and chips. For entrees we had Carne Asada; the meat could have been more tender, but the onions, guacamole and frijoles de la olla were excellent and more than made up for it, the rice was not the usual ubiquitous Spanish junk, it was light on the tomato with bits of corn, peas and green beans in it, and the Burrito Jalisco... couldnt believe the amount of shrimp in it. A white cheese sauce with grilled pineapple topped it off just right. We have a thing for horchata (Mexican rice milk drink with a touch of cinnamon and sugar). Few places put it on the menu, so we usually ask... they brought us two huge frosty mugs of it! Had an interesting conversation with one of the waiters who was surprised to see us drinking it (we are VERY gringo looking). Being authentic Dutch and not having been to a ranchita, I am unable to state this is or is not "authentic" Mexican food. I do know that our entire meal was delicious, while the service was engaging and attentive! We dined at the 16th street location and will be back for more.

I used to love this place, but in summer 2013 it seemed to go downhill and kept going. I ordered chicken enchiladas (which come with shredded chicken) and got chicken tacos with fried chicken pieces. When I sent it back, the cook took the fried chicken, rolled it in the soft shell taco shells and poured sauce on it and sent it back out. I had to send it back a second time because I wanted shredded chicken like I ordered, and by the time I got it back - the 3rd time - my husbands food was cold. We ordered takeout another time soon after this and they got our order wrong, my husband got an entirely different entree than he ordered. Another time we were there I ordered shrimp tacos and got fish tacos. The last time we went there our waitress walked up to our table and -being a smart aleck in Spanish - said "Hi Ladies" to my husband and I, not realizing that I know quite a lot of Spanish and knew what she was saying. Sadly, weve given up and havent been back - it was just time after time we kept giving them one more chance because we really liked the food there when we started going, but we dont want to risk another bad experience.

Fake mexican food! The decor is awesome but the food was very very disappointing! The waitress came by and asked how our meal was and I told her it was disgusting. ...she looked at me like I was the biggest "you know what" ever. We received a discount on our food and fed it to our dog, then we went and grabbed some burgers and went home. This was supposed to be a date night for my husband and I and it was completely ruined by this worthless restaurant!

Im VERY fussy and I love Mexican food. Ive tried every Mexican restaurant in the area and this is the one I keep coming back to, its well worth the 20 minute drive. The food is amazing, it comes out quick, fresh and hot. I recommend the Fajitas El Rancho and dont forget to get a cup of cheese sauce to go with your free chips! The prices are fair too, especially for the quality of food you get and the large servings.

Love El Rancho!! My favorite Mexican place in town so far. Their chimis are amazing. The white queso they put on them is addicting. If youre looking for good Mexican food, go here! The staff is subpar. Ive had some good experiences and some not so good experiences. It usually takes a while for the server to get the check or to even check on you. For me the food outweighs the service and I will keep coming back.

Ive gone 4 times and every time I leave a happy customer. Their Margaritas are the best! (I think they are half off on Wednesdays!). The food has never dissapointed. I love their seafood, my wife always gets the white cheese dip. The decorations are truly remarkable, especially the boards that divide the booths, depicting typical mexican scenery. Did I mention the awesome Margaritas?!

If youre in holland and you want Mexican this is the place to go!! Food is fantastic, but waiters could use a few English lessons. Use a simple English vocabulary when speaking. (Not trying to be racist) or have some fun and try speaking in Spanish!!! Had lots of fun with our waiter when me and my family did that! I would highly recommend this place!!

Very average. When one spends a lot of time in Texas you get spoiled on amazing Tex Mex. Its NOT Mexican food, per se; this is Tex Mex. Over the past 5 years the quality has gone downhill as well. Its bizarre that Holland has a large Mexican population, but not a single outstanding Tex Mex/Mexican restaurant. lol.

OK, we have always enjoyed but visit to 16th street store last night was disaster. Shared a steak burrito with my wife as a late night meal. Evidently not fresh. Both of us woke up within 4 hours vomiting, etc.... I am still ill in bed at 4:00 pm next day. Ugh! May never go back!

Love this place ! Great food and very polite servers.My favorite meal is the nachos carbon.Then i get a side of white kaeso cheese dip and chorizo.Also the sprite pop always taste perfect here !Honestly i love it wayyyyyyyyyy more than on the border.

Great restaurant to share food & drinks with friends. The atmosphere is enjoyable and theres a great selection on the menu. Weve enjoyed doing birthdays here as well since it comes with a nice dessert and a great sombrero!

Terrible food and service. Not the freshest ingredients, very processed. 16th St location. I recommend avoiding this place and try the Baja Grill just down the road. Very Fresh and blows this place out of the water.

If youre looking for authentic Mexican food dont waste your time or money. Atmosphere is nice and cozy but the food is below par. If youre looking for authentic Mexican food try Taqueria Azteca.

El Ranch is our absolute favorite restaurant in Holland. They have really good food, (especially the chips and salsa and fajitas) friendly and fast service, and AMAZING margaritas!!
