Giving two stars because the quesadilla is one of the best (minus that new ranch drizzle). Ive always known this place harbors hipster pretentiousness (e.g. Eye rolling when I ask for a Two Hearted), but tonight sealed the deal. I first asked for a Yuengling, to which the bartender said "No we will never sell their beer". Because aiding the status quo isnt "cool"? No, its because, he proceeded to tell me, Yuengling is being sued by the city for pollution (which I assume he means EPA or PDEM) and beer is all about cleaning drinking water. I dont want or need my bartender or his establishment making political stances on environmental issues. Let PA and Yuengling settle their issues and shut up. Secondly, I noticed Rhinegeist on the menu, which I love. I have been to their brewery before and loved the atmosphere and their beers. I asked for a Puma but instead of a "lager" glass (um what?) I wanted a pint glass. I want to feel like Im drinking a beer, not an oversized martini. So simple I thought, because they were the same size in volume, but the bartender said "No, we stylize the barware for the style of beer, and you need the lager glass so that it rolls over your tounge and the aromatics is fully experienced". This is ironic because at the Rhinegeist brewery all beers are served in a normal pint glass. I said again Id prefer a pint glass, to which she said "well we dont usually do that, but I can make that change for you". Seriously? Make that change for me? If I want to have an aromatic experience Ill drink a good vintage red or a fine islay scotch. Also, if I want to drink my beer that I am paying for out of a toilet I will! The whole "we know whats best for" mentality of this place stinks. I live 5 min away, but I wont be returning.

My husband and I went to Hopcat on Saturday around 1pm. They were not that busy. The atmosphere is pretty nice. The hipster server we had seemed out of it. Our appetizer came out almost 25 minutes after we ordered it, and then, our food came out on top of it. The server kept trying to make jokes about these things. "Oh, the must of had to process the cheese to make this!" Then, I asked about the Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar that was right next to our table. The server told me how it worked, and I said, "Sure, Ill take one." He IDd me, thats when our meal showed up, and he disappeared. We were finishing our meal, and he came up and said, "Ill get you drink refills!" and I still hadnt received my Vodka for my Bloody Mary. Those were the first refills we received the entire time we had been there. When he brought those drinks out, said, "OH NO! The BAR FORGOT your drink!!!" and he vanished again. By then, I didnt even want the Bloody Mary anymore, but he rushed off so fast to get it, I couldnt tell him. "Then, when he showed up with the vodka, he said, "The bar must have had to distill the vodka!" The server was nice enough, but didnt seem to want to get us food or drinks. He did have another 2 top and a table of 8, but really?!?!? If we go back, hopefully, we will not get the same server. The food was fine. It was normal bar food. They do have a few of their own little takes on things to try and make them special, like their "Crack Fries" but the main reason people to come this place is to drink. Im not really a huge drinker.

Colleen O Sullivan (one of three general managers) has argued with a customer then threw her employees under the bus. After she has argued with me for 10 mins about my total being wrong, she had to go consult with another general manager as she seemed incapable of making a decision. As a customer I feel like if you are a general manager you should NOT ask a customer or another manager what they expect a restaurant should do. I have ordered a specific drink and was charged twice for it and another drink I ordered was completely wrong and she continued to argue with me about about what I have ordered. Employees should never argue with their customers. She seemed to be very upset from a previous situation that had absolutely nothing to do with my party and I. This is the worst customer service in Indy i have ever experienced. They will never receive my business nor any of my family and friends since she has argued with me. She was completely rude and obviously had no patience. Bottom line is she should have never argued with me or anyone in my party.

HopCat is a nice little place. It even has a parking garage on the other side of the building, so have a couple bucks for parking, or you can use a credit/debit card too. If you know the Broad Ripple area you know why this is great! The food is pretty good- I had a cowboy burger which came with crack fries, and they were delicious. I still prefer the loaded crack fries, they are a little spicy. The beer...there are so many different taps. If you arent sure, which is easy when you literally have over a hundred choices, the servers Ive had are knowledgeable and can help you narrow it down to a few choices, and they will bring you a small sample free of charge by request. Depending on the crowd you want, you may avoid weekends, or only go on weekends, but be prepared to wait for a short time because even the two massive bartops get filled up pretty easy, and they do have times that are only 21+ so call ahead to find out for sure.

hostess forgot about us Went to hopcat with my brother and a few friends. Hostess said it would be about 10-15 min. She took my number and enrolled it in the waitlist app so it could text us when the table was ready. Well, 15 min went by, then 20, then 25-30 min passed. We noticed parties that came after us getting seated so asked her what was going on. Her response was, "It says the party "Amanda" was already sat.. so our initial thought was that somebody took our spot, but I never even got a text so that doesnt make any sense. Not to mention we were the only ones waiting still and were sitting directly in front of her the entire time...... So anyways, she magically had a table ready for us at this time. Despite this mystery", the burger I got was good.

The beer selection is amazing--theres an entire menu page dedicated to everything that they serve. Also, the crack fries there are unlike anything you can find anywhere else. I highly recommend it for people that want a really good drink and to have a good time with friends. I cant necessarily recommend it as a family restaurant though. There are other restaurants that are better suited for that environment. The entrees are okay, but you do get a decent amount of food for what youre paying. They also have really great deals throughout the week, my personal favorite being the 50% off wings on Mondays. Also keep in mind that after 9, I believe, everyone has to be 21 to enter.

You know what? Before yesterdays experience I was not the biggest fan but I would say the recently "Hop"ed on this establishments bandwagon. Two of my coworkers and I were sitting out side, it was cloudy, but we had no idea it was about to downpour. We ordered drinks and some food and were talking about how nice B-ripp is for Yuppy college grads. Out of NOWHERE a hostess ran out and alerted us of a huge storm barreling down on our location. This unsung hero even carried our food in WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR AT THE SAME TIME. The storms came crashing down within minutes of sitting down at our seat... whoever that Hostess was... I hope to one day see you again.. Thank You
