We visited Firebirds on Saturday, November 5th.at around 600PM. My familys (dad, mom, two boys -15 and 10) experience was poor at best. We were seated rather quickly and did not have a reservation. Decent crowd, but some empty tables were visible. It was down hill from there. The hostess asked if we needed a kids menu after we told her we needed a kids menu. After seating we only received two menus along with the kids menu. Our waiter was unattentive and slow with his service regarding drinks. Visited the table only once after we received our food. On to the food. My teenage sons food, chicken pasta, was good according to him. My youngest sons kid menu burger was not what was ordered. Ordered a cheeseburger plain (as in no condiments or lettuce, etc.) Brought to the table was a burger without cheese. No ketchup was offered and after several minutes I had to get out of my seat, track down our waiter, and ask for ketchup for my son. My meal, the meatloaf, was okay and nothing to make me want to have it again or visit the restaurant for it. The wifes food, an aged ribeye, was not good at all. She ordered it medium. What was brought to the table was a tough medium to well done steak. When told and asked for another, she waited 15 minutes and was told by our waiter, using that term loosely, that her steak was "coming right up". During that table exchange we brought it to the waiters attention that he failed to visit our table to ask for drinks. The "coming right up" steak took an additional 15 minutes. My boys and I were done with our meals. The steak arrived and was somewhat medium, but tough to cut through and was really dry. I guess that is why it was aptly named an "aged ribeye". The cost of the steak was removed from the bill, but we will never visit Firebirds again and will never recommend it to anyone. EVER. Straight whack place and service.

We have lived in Carmel area many years and it never ceases to amaze me how so many new restaurants are so terrible when they open. They spend so much money planning the building, the menu, the business plan, but they frequently fail to hire and properly train and supervise in the first few weeks and months after opening. So many places have opened around the area only to close for the poor service! Thats nuts! It doesnt have to be that way but I DO NOT feel sorry for the owners. They have a choice to over do it with service and friendliness and waiter training (prior to opening) but they just dont. And people in Carmel will not tolerate poor service or bad value. From reading the reviews, it looks like this new place is committing the exact same mistakes! Just shaking my head. My large family goes out to a family meal once per month and each month a different person selects where we will go. This month the suggestion was to try Firebirds. We are/were planning to go on the 30th. I am guessing we will give it a shot anyway, but if we experience anything like some of these posts are describing, we will never go back - neither as a group nor individually. And of course, we will share the experience with our friends. I am SOOOO tired of new places failing to train their staff ahead of opening and then failing to have management present and on site and immediately available to solve problems. When we have gone to new places and experienced the poor service and said something, the most frequent comment is "we just opened and are learning." Go ahead. Say that stuff. You wont be open for long! Will post an update to this review after we go there. Keeping my fingers crossed but having my serious doubts. : (

Your restaurant is close to work, so we decided to give it shot for lunch today. I am so glad that we did!! In this line of business people often quick to criticize everything with their experience. However, my lunch at Firebirds today was absolutely AMAZING!!! Lots of parking, the restaurant is clean and the decorated top notch. The hostesses were super friendly, opened the door when we arrived and left. We were seated quickly and greeted within minutes. The menu had a lot of great choices and was hard to decide, however our phenomenal server Alexis A. was quick to help us make decisions. our food came out quick and was delicious. For a restaurant that just opened everything was on point. Alexis A. gave us some of the best service I have had. Kuddos to you Firebirds for a great experience. Extra Kuddos to Alexis A. for her service today. Thank you again! Super Happy Customer! See you again soon... Stel

I was seated early while I waited for the rest of my party. Waitress got me a drink. I waited an hour before she even checked up on me. My sisters made it an hour after I got there. 1 ordered her drink when she got there and didnt get it for 30 minutes. Our bread came late. Our appetizers were good. The entrees came. One of my sisters steak was way over done and the fries were cold. My steak was cooked but fairly cold. My fries were cold. Cucumber salad had too much vinegar and salty. My sisters meal was comped by the manager. And we split a brownie in the house. I dont think I will be going again anytime soon. The Waitress first said there was a big party, then she said there was a new person leading the line. For me those are excuses for poor food and service.

Beautiful restaurant, has been open only a few months. Typical American fare on the more expensive side (I noticed menu prices ranging from $8 - $50 per plate). The music was super loud (not good for those who have hearing troubles), but was told the level of the music would be less noticeable in the main dining area (true). Lovely decor, small outdoor dining area, neat bar area and large comfortable booths. Close to 465, hard to exit parking lot heading East on 96th Street. Scratch cooking (be prepared to wait a little bit) made the coconut shrimp (with mango habanero sauce), meatloaf and warm carrot cake very nice. 4 stars only because our bread plates were quite dirty (but were quickly replaced).

I love this restaurant chain. I was introduced to this place in Raleigh, NC. Tonight was my first experience here in Indianapolis. I was disappointed in the service. For being opened for one month and not having a full house, I dont think our waitress had the personality or insight how to deal with restaurant concerns. Needless to say, it put a damper on our first time here. To top it off, she had us wait to see if we were getting a dessert for a birthday being celebrated. She put the check down on the table and didnt say a word. Somewhat awkward for us but, we managed to laugh about it on the way to the car. Well give it another shot when a few months go by. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside and the food is okay (and pricey) but the wait staff is terrible. Ive been there on three different occasions and had a different waiter each time. One of the waitresses couldnt answer simple questions about the menu or what types of vodka they serve. She also wouldnt go and find out the answers either. Last night our waitress seemed annoyed to be working and made our experience less than nice once again. Ive never had a server bring a bottle of wine, open it and just leave it on the table. It would have been nice for her to pour the first glass. Three strikes and Im not going back.
