Disgusting. Absolutely vile. Im not even sure where to start with the nightmare that is La Hacienda. First, absolutely blasting meriachi outside at levels only appropriate for heavy metal. Inside could only be described as 1960s technicolor Mexican kitsch. Im not sure how this place has the rating it does, I could tell you this place wouldnt last a week down south. There is really no competition for La Hacienda in Carmel, and Im sure thats a big part of the problem. The food was, in a word, gross. I can promise you the enchilada sauce is Old El Paso from a can. The beef was not seasoned at all, not even with salt and pepper. The tortillas were packaged Old Mission. If the salsa IS homemade, which I sincerely doubt, they wouldve actually been better off with El Paso. Absolutely everything from this place was pre-packaged and frozen...and you can really tell. Their highly touted Chili Releno was inedible. The taste and texture was that of being reheated leftovers. What made us leave though, with only a few bites taken, was the state of the bathrooms. Ive seen cleaner restrooms at a cock-fighting arena...in...Kolkata...the poor section, on New Years day during a soccer riot. It wreaked, the toilet was clogged and there was toilet paper everywhere. Any restaurant willing to let that happen where the customer can see, really makes you afraid of what we cannot see. (Also, how could employees wash their hands in a restroom like that?) We left immediately, and we will never be back. I just hope to God Im not sick tomorrow. Upon bringing this to the managers attention, we were told the health department passed them. (They might need to re-check)

My husband and kids love this place. It is reasonably priced, close to home, and kid friendly. They are always very kind there. I love their fajitas, and they dont blink when my daughter and I say we will share one fajita. My daughter (who is in college now) loves the fried ice cream. We order one fajita just to save room for the ice cream. I love the margaritas. For those who says there are no veggies, first, the menu says exactly what you get. Second, if you want veggies, salad, guac, or anything else, you only have to ask. I love the free tortilla chips and salsa. Weve been coming here for 9 years or so, and we have never had a complaint. If we did, I know it would be taken care of. I have lived around the world, and Taco Bell is not mexican, no matter what it says. I have been to Mexico and Spain, as well as other places. They dont eat food like Taco Bell. If you want to eat Mexican food, eat where the Mexicans work and eat. If you dont like it, Mexican food might not be for you. As for me, I have been to the above, plus France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. We eat where the locals eat. We love you, La Hacienda!

I had a combo plate with a buritto, enchilada, and a chili pepper stuffed with cheese. The combo plate came without any sides (rice or beans), no sour cream or guac. either. The buritto and enchilada were just wraps stuffed with ground beef covered with some sauce. There were no vegies, peppers, onions, lettuce, nothing else at all inside the wraps. They were indistinguishable in taste. The stuffed pepper (plumbero?) was also poor. The pepper was so soft and over cooked that it may have been a tad rotten. The cheese and the flavors weird, which also lead me to thing the pepper was bad. Id ahve to say this is about the worst mexican food Ive eaten, ever. Taco Bell is better. Dont waste you money. It is a shame too as the decor is very cute...though the bar could use some updating. Call Robert - great need for a restaurant impossible make over!

Some of their food is hit or miss here. I ordered a tamale, rice, and soft beef taco. My wife got the chicken soup which was one of the better things we ordered. You can tell that most of the food was previously frozen/old and not cooked the same day. My tamale was mushy and watered down and as other people mentioned here the beef/chicken is also greasy and watery. This is likely because they freeze a lot of their food. My rice was also way overcooked. The service was also not great as I had to wait quite a while on my water refill and to pay my bill, however, the people who worked there seemed nice. I would have given 3/5 stars if it werent for the slow service. The La Hacienda on Binford Ave is A LOT better than the one here in Carmel.

We went there the first week it open (no liquor licence then) and everything very good. It was busy that night. Tonight was...horrible and it wasnt busy. Perhaps 3 tables. All the food was bland, absolutely NO seasoning. My taco meat had no taste to it & It had a large piece of frozen shredded cheese on my beans. My husbands dish fajitas unseasoned also. Took this home & plan to recook it w/ our own seasoning. We will not go back, and its a 4 min drive from our house.

My company placed a large take out order, after picking everything up and taking it back to work we realized quite a few things were missing, hair on an item and an item was made incorrectly. Drove back to the restaurant to get the missing and corrected items and had to explain myself 2 times and was never once apologized to. I dont mind when mistakes are made-we are all human, but to be rude and not apologize is unacceptable.

This Mexican restaurant is authentic Mexican. Far beyond my expectations. Tell host and waiters stood above the best. I am so satisfied with the service and food. My lips quivered and I went "poof" when I read the silly comment about the hair in the food. I would hope that person had their own hair tied back when they opened the food. get a life honey" Anyone reading thus, you you must try for your selves

Worst Mexican place ever. My wife and I love Mexican but the service is awe full, food portions are very poor, dont give much meat, not much guac w fajitas no pinaple on Hawaiian fajitas that specialize for it, only restraurant in 32 years that for fajitas dont give beans and rice only 1. Never go back. Dont go and waste your money.

I consider this the best Mexican restaurant in the Carmel Westfield area. The chips have always been fresh, the salsa is nicely spicy, and the food has always been great. I prefer the Carnitas tacos. They are on traditional corn tortillas with a nice pico de gallo. There is a soup too that is out of this world.

Never had a problem with this place until my husband had a tack in the flan, luckily he didnt chew it or swallow it. Told the manager and then she began to argue with him and call him a liar instead of apologizing. Will never come back again. Thanks for just taking the flan off the bill the least you could do.
