My wife and I visited the Avon location on a Sunday evening. When we walked in there was only one table with two other people. Our waiter seated us at a booth, between two dirty tables. We had no silverware at the table when we sat down and did not until 15 min later when we got our food. When our food arrived it was cold. We looked up several times and saw none of the serving staff in sight. My wife and I asked for more tea (which did not taste or look very fresh to begin with). Our waiter brought us two small glasses (almost child size) of warm tea with NO ice and then disappeared. We then had to ask a few minutes later, when our waiter was walking out the front door with a few of the other servers and the manager, for a separate glass of ice. He turned around, with a inconvenienced look on his face and got the ice. He gave us the ice and then SPRINTED out the door after the others, leaving my wife and I alone in the building. I decided to get something out of our car, and as I walked outside I could see them all SITTING on the curb next to a light pole about 30 feet from the front door, Laughing and talking. I took a picture with my cell phone because I could not believe that they would do such a thing. A few minutes after I came back inside, all of the staff came back in as well, our waiter immediately came to our table asking if we needed anything, we said no. He then had the nerve to ask if I had taken a picture of them and even told me that the others were freaking out about it. I told him, yes I had because they had just left us in the building alone. He said he went out to get the others and that he even told the manager. We asked for the check and asked to talk with the manager. About 5 minutes later, the manager finally came to the table. It was a shock to see that she was one of the ones sitting on the curb next to the other employees. We told her that we had been left in the building alone, she immediately became defensive, saying she had gone out to get the other employees and bring them back in. I asked her if that was why she was sitting on the ground with them, which made her even more defensive. She then walked away. A few minutes later she came back and stated that she had taken 25% off of our bill. We paid the bill and left. After contacting corporate IHOP Guest Relations the next day (Monday), they took my complaint, and since this is a franchised location, forwarded my complaint to the District Manager. 5 days later (Saturday), I received a call from the District Manager at 9:30 pm! He sounded like he was just calling us back to get it over with. He did not sound too concerned that we had these complaints. We asked for our money back, and he stated all he could do was offer us a free meal in the amount that we had originally paid. We asked for at least 1 entire visit free, to which he countered with the same offer, not sounding the least concerned to keep our business. Unless something spectacular happens, this will be the end of our IHOP experience, at least with this particular franchise.

Arrived at 640pm. There was approximately 20 ppl in restaurant. We stood at door till 650. Waitresses walked past us numerous times without even acknowledging our presents. I asked if we seated ourselves even tho the sign said wait to be seated. They just walked right bye without responding. Finally asked for a manager . His name was kyle. He said they were slammed and he was busy. We got seated at 651. We were then asked our drinks at 655. We received them at 700pm. We placed our order then also. We continued to sit and chat among ourselves. Our drinks went empty at 711. She did bring them to us around 720pm. Its approximately 730 now and restaurant has 24 guest in it. There are 7 tables with no food yet. We have seen 2 guest complain on food quality. They had to have there food remade. The two tables in front of us was here before us and still havent got there food yet. We have been here 53 mins and all we received was 2 drinks. They seem to 4 waitresses and kitchen staff and a register person,a bus person and a manager. There is absolutely no excuse for this to be like this. I have 17 years restaurant management experience and this place is definitely miss managed. I will say the bus person seems to be working harder than anyone in here. The register person is under trained it seems cause he is extremely slow to check someone out. He had a line at the door when we arrived. How hard is it to take the money. I do not recommend this location to no one. Worst experience ever. It will take a lot to get this place up to par. Its approx 740 and table in front of us just got food. Its been an hour since we got here. We have yet to see any food. There are 2 more ppl at the register who havent received there food and are walking out. Manager said let them go no charge. Its 745. He said him and daughter didnt get any service at all. No drinks or food. We havent seen our waitress in over 20 mins. Drinks are empty again and no service. Our waiter put her jacket on and walked out door. I think she went home. We have been sitting here right at one hour now ! I wish a regional manager would contact me. We finally decided to leave at 800 pm couldnt wait any longer. So I went to Kyle and told him we were leaving and how the visit was ! He looked dumb founded. He offered to give us our meal free but I noticed it sitting in the window. Kyle said our waitress walked out on him. But he didnt send us another one and I wasnt willing to eat cold food nor wait another hour for more. He then told us to go to Brownsburg and they would take care of us. Needless to say after reading there reviews I was hesitant. I called the manager karen. She said she was slammed and she was short staffed also. She told us to come there and she would make sure we got taken care of. We arrived at 824 seated and drinks at 825 and food came fresh and hot at 840. I am pleased now but starving. Thank u karen. Wife took me here for my Birthday Dinner today. We ordered our appetizer and food it took 20 minutes or more for food to come with the appetizer. Was told it took so long because of the hash browns. No apology. Appetizer was brought with out the sauces. Food was just luke warm. Asked for more coffee and wife asked for more butter for pancakes but didnt get until after wifes pancakes were to cold to eat we brought our appetizer home to eat later where we can heat up in Micro wave. When checking out I complained to hostess who told me it was server 329s first day received no apology. I told her then she needs more training or to be shadowed . The hostess reply to me four times was its the waitress first day still no apology. I wasnt looking for a discount or free food but an apology would have went a long way. Never did see a manager the whole time we were there. I like to eat at IHOP but never again at this one and you can bet I will make sure my family and all my friends are warned about this location. Thank you IHOP for such horrible service and ruining my birthday dinner. Also when leaving another person went up to hostess complaining about not getting his food yet.
