Went there tonight with my mom, sister and brother. We had read two articles in local newspapers and a few reviews online so we were expecting the food to be a bit more phenomenal then it was. My mom makes amazing homemade pizza with lots of fresh ingredients and so far there have been very few restaurants that measure up to her standards. This was yet another let down. First Id like to mention that the hostess informed us that it would only be a 10 minute wait. We sat in their "lounge" area for over 30 minutes. The waitress was very polite and attentive. She did her job well. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. You pick three types of bruschetta to be served. We picked the artichoke, traditional and prosciutto bruschettas. The artichoke was very good. It was piled high and tasted delightful. The traditional was decent, with the usual italian bread and heaps of tomatoes and seasonings. I didnt try the prosciutto one. We also ordered two pizzas. One Margherita and one Diavolo pizza. I only had the marghertia pizza and I was expecting fresh mozzarella, chunks of tomato and much more basil. What was served was "chef boyardee" tomato sauce, layered with cheese and one single basil leaf on the entire pizza. It literally tasted like Spaghettios or Chef Boyardee on a pizza. It was very bland, had no fresh mozzarella, no chunky tomatoes. I was not impressed at all. Especially for the price. The overall ambience of the place is ok. Its in a prime location in the newest part of the renovations taking place in downtown St. Charles. The inside could use a little more warmth however. It was very dark when we first entered. The pictures make it look much nicer then it feels when its full of people. It felt overly crowded with ever table full. I suppose if you wanted to get some after work drinks or have a cocktail hour this would be ideal, but for an overall "Italian" meal this is definitely lacking in quite a few areas. I would rather stay at home and have my mom make her homemade pizza on her pizza stone. So much better. More taste and just overall more character in the food then this place offers.

Nice atmosphere but expensive and I didnt care much for the pizza. Ive never been to Italy so I dont know what their idea of pizza is, but by most American standards, the pizza here is not very typical. The crust is excellent -- thin, crispy, and tasty. The toppings available are limited and not that conventional -- they have no pepperoni, instead they have different types of salami. I had olives on mine but they were some type of olive I have not tried before and I wasnt that impressed with the flavor. The big fail, however, was the sauce. Besides tasting like little more than tomato sauce -- no spices, garlic, olive oil, or much of anything else so far as I could tell -- when I picked up a slice nearly all of the sauce just poured off onto my plate. I was not impressed.

I was at NEO in St. Charles last night. I ordered a Baccardi and diet coke. When I got the drink it tasted funny. So I ordered another one. I watched the girl change it, but she wasnt using Baccardi. I asked why? And she said they didnt have Baccardi. And the guy back there was a smart guy too. He made the first one and used some cheap bar rum. Never once was I told that they were out of Baccardi, or they did not carry it This was Friday evening March 27 about 9:30 PM. I didnt get names, but they were the only 2 people back there. Its not cheap to eat there, so I expect what I order or be offered something else!! Very dissapointed, very unprofessional!!!! Train your employees!!!!!!!

Just returned home from my second trip to Italy! I crave authentic Italian pizza and it has been impossible to find in the US until finding Pizzeria Neo. I couldnt have been more excited taking my first bite into my margarita pizza and realizing it was the real deal. Weve tried lots of other local "Italian" places and none are like what you get in Italy so far except for this place. Theres something completely different about the sauce flavor, crust, and the amount of each topping then with American pizza. People who review the pizza here poorly have simply never had the real thing before. We will definitely be regulars from now on!!!

Food was excellent, notably the rapini bruschetta and the bianco and Quattro carne pizzas. Wait staff was very nice, but they were shorthanded as heck. Felt bad for the staff that was busting its ass. The crowd was a bunch of future wine moms.

My wife and I tried this place and it was good but not great. As far as Italian style pizza goes this was just ok. For the price I would not recommend it. and the wood fired aspect does not come across in the taste.

If you expect Chicgo-style pizza think again. If you feel you deserve fresh ingredients, simple, balanced flavor and authentic pizza straight from the streets of Naples, Italy, then NEO is where you should eat.

a really expensive sbarros pizza 10$ for bruchetta 3 slices of bread. If your a snobby self proclaimed foodie you might like it. If your a chicagoan youll be dissapointed. the pizza was blah and expensive.

Pizza made to order, decent size and very flavourful. This isnt another take out/delivery pizza shop like at every strip mall in the area. Rather an upscale, unique place. Its definitely worth visiting.

Fresh, simple ingredients make for one of my familys favorite place to go carb-crazy!.. My 4yo old daughter loves sitting at the pizza bar to watch them toss dough and cook pies in the wood-fired oven

The food is really good. The service seemed a bit rushed(I believe they were a bit understaffed), but quite friendly and helpful. They had half priced bottles of wine which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Truly an amazing margherita pizza. I cant wait to go back. The ambience is fun too, high soaring ceilings, feels like a hip loft in chicago.

Not worth the money. Wine is over priced, outside tables filled with bird droppings, dessert was frozen. Wont be back!
