I dont think a place could be worse. I went here a while back with my family to get breakfast before we headed out for a long trip. The place was empty other than one table with about five people. Everything went fine at first made our drink orders and such. The waitress brought out water glasses for each of us. My mothers water glass was dirty. It had trash of some sort floating in it. We thought oh no big deal, it happens. Then my drink came out, which was just a soda.It had bits of went napkin or something on the side of it. Of course at this time our waitress was missing for a good ten minutes. So we asked a bus boy to replace both my soda and my mothers water glass. He took them, went missing for a while, then came back with nothing and didnt even look at us. Finally when our waitress did come back we told her what we asked the bus boy to do and what he didnt do. So, she said shed be back with replacements. She comes back with our drinks and now there is trash floating in my drink. Again, we ask the waitress to replace my drink. She came back with another and guess what. There was stuff in it again. At this point were all mad and my mother finds the owner. She told the owner everything and the only thing he had to say was, "Oh well no one has complained before" and "Weve never had problems before." The man never even said sorry. He ended up taking our drinks off the bill. Woohoo.

Disappointing experience, unfortunately. We wont be back. Today is my last day in Illinois, so my mother and I decided to go out to breakfast. We gave Tasty Waffle a call at 10:03am this morning to order an apple pancake, because it says to expect to wait 45 minutes for it to be prepared, and being that I have a flight to catch, we figured it would be wise. The man on the phone kindly said that he would get that order put in "right now". We arrived at 10:30, to allow for time for the other order in our group to be put in and come out at the same time as the apple pancake. We got seated by 10:55ish, put in the other order, and got informed that it would still be 20 minutes before the apple pancake was ready. An hour and 20 minutes to make a pancake? Someone obviously dropped the ball on that one, but we smiled anyway and said that was fine. Unfortunately, it was not done in 20 minutes. It was not even done by the time I finished my meal. It was over an hour after we had arrived at the restaurant, and over an hour and a half after we had ordered the pancake, when we asked for it to just be wrapped up, because I had to prepare for my flight. I didnt get to eat at even remotely the same time as my mother during our last meal together for a long time. Coupled with the cashier that didnt even bother smiling.. Thanks so much, Tasty Waffle. We will not be back.

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago on a Sunday morning it was packed as expected for any breakfast restaurant on a Sunday morning. the red headed cashier was very rude kept giving me dirty looks as I waited. The manager not very friendly either walked past our table several times without even saying hello. Our waitress did not come back once to check in on us. As a waitress myself I understand it was packed but she had time to bring me another drink she couldve asked how everything was. Me and my friend wanted whipped cream neither of us got it and wouldve let her know but she didnt really care as a server I know she ignored us because she assumed we wouldnt tip her well. We actually tip about 40 percent when we get good service so please dont just assume. Give everyone fair service and you might be surprised the outcome. Food was good. Overall not a good experience just because your restaurant is busy doesnt give you a right to be rude. We werent asked how anything was either same red headed lady just simply cashed us out gave me another dirty look and said "okay have a good one" I think someone needs to get off Sunday mornings.

The food was great but the respect of one of the owners was just below the belt. I went in their yesterday after searching for a breakfast place around the area and came across crispy waffle. Went in asked for the menu but the attitude of the tall owner of the place was horrid. He gave me an attitude for no reason at all and than said a profanity in greek. It was really uncalled for especially since I am a customer and I didnt do anything to deserve it. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is for that reason. The foot itself was great! I enjoyed my breakfast but I probably will never go back if that particular owner doesnt stay in the kitchen. The other older owner who was a bit shorter tried to calm me down but I was just shocked from the unnecessary comment by someone.

If there is a better breakfast place anywhere, I would love to see it. Great service, food, and presentation. The best. If you had to complain about anything, the only thing is they dont allow the staff to chitchat as much as you would normally expect at a breakfast place/pancake house. However, the upside is that as busy as the place is ( and this place is busy), the wait isnt as long and since they dont socialize, the staff is very attentive to peoples needs. I have to believe this other review ( the one that stated they waited forever and the cups werent clean) had to have mixed up this place with somewhere else. Never had an experience close to what they were describing. Bottom line, the best breakfast place in the area hands down.

Horrible restaurant will never go back again, ordered soup from the soup of the day menu and got through eating almost my whole bowl and discovered 2 lady bugs in my soup. The waitress only took my bowl away and did not charge us for the soup. Very disappointed I didnt even want to eat my meal after finding bugs in the food. Spoke with the manager (owner) and he would not give us any discount for this issue. After finding bugs in the food thats a big deal and to be very rude towards us by not even saying he was sorry that we had to deal with this was unacceptable.

Amazing! Wow....just wow! Travelling from Wisconsin and a friend from Chicago took us here. Short wait for table. Coffee and food arrived fast and hot. Very friendly staff. So many amazing food choices. Everything was great and if ever back in the area will definitely visit again. Steph was our waitress and she rocked!

I usually get breakfast all of the time and it is always delicious, but today I decided to try a burger and OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! It was the BEST!!!!! The people areven so nice and the service is spot on even with the amount of people eating there....because its always packed. The Tasty Waffle is Awesome!!!
