I have been a server at fine restaurants for 6 years. I grew up in Glen Ellyn, and dined at Glen Oaks countless times growing up. Two years ago, my dad, sister and I were all diagnosed with Celiac Disease (aka, we are allergic to gluten). Thus, we cant eat 99% of what is on the menu, so we dont really go there anymore. However, my dad went there today, to visit a server who weve known and loved for years. He explained to her that he wanted fruit instead of toast, and shockingly, she proceeded to FREAK out on my dad, and scream at him. He stared at her shocked and confused, at her outburst. She told him she didnt care about his allergy, and that he would eat what she gave him. After making a scene and screaming at my dad, she stormed off. I am completely disgusted at this behavior...if I even DARED to speak this way to a customer at my restaurant, Id be fired in an instant! Food allergies are an ever-growing issue, and need to be taken seriously. I cant imagine treating a person who Ive served and been friends with for years like this...its a disgrace, and she ought to be fired. Needless to say, the service is horrible, the food is lousy, and we will never give them our business again.

If you feel like being treated like crap and eat okay food then this is the place to go. The waitress was rude. When she would pour coffee, it would spill everywhere. She didnt even gave us utensils and water, another person had to do it. She also gave us the bill when we were still eating, like we still had pancakes on our plate and we were still working on it. To me, it looks like she was rushing to get us out of there. We expected better because of the reviews. We were disappointed after eating there. We did not deserve that kind of service. She was just mean. I wouldve given it one star but the restaurant decorations looked nice.

In my house we have a saying - Kims Curse. I have this knack..or curse...to only be able to go to a restaurant once before there are problems.....Glen Oak broke the curse! Ive gone there 3 or 4 times and have really liked their food--its very good and well priced. The sandwiches come with a choice of potatoes or fruit--the fruit is fabulous! All for under $10! The service is excellent and friendly. Only problem I have with them is where they are located, its not easy to get around downtown Glen Ellyn and at least they do have their own parking lot.

This place was way better than I expected. In fact it rocked and it was only a Tuesday night. The service was fast and the food was above average. But the best part was that it fun. The owners had a magician walking around doing tricks for the kids and my 3 little ones simply loved it and beg to go back now and I agree. I get to drink a martini in peace while someone else helps entertain my kids!

Cant beat the Greek Chicken and salad! The owner is a riot. Not all items are to my taste, but there is plenty on the menu so get to know what they do best. The ground round with tomato and feta was quite tasty. The roll in the bread basket is poor and that keeps my bread intake down. Homemade Ranch dressing, reuben wrap, vegetable soup, tomato soup are all good too.

I have only been to Glen Oaks a few times and have to say the new look is great! The updated menu is easy to read, food selection and quality is great, atmosphere is clean and modern and the staff are friendly and courteous. And the prices, a great value. Nice Job on the makeover!

Food was excellent, we had quick service. When we left at around 10am on a Sunday it was jam packed. 3 families waiting to be seated. Overall, excellent variety of breakfast and lunch. I would highly recommend this place for a quick breakfast.

Ive gone 2xs now and I love it. Theres always a wait but never too long. I dont think Ive ever waited longer than 10 mins. The guy that helps seat everyone is really proficient and nice. Staff is great. Food is great. Well worth it.

Great breakfast menu. Not too many items, but they are all done right. Sizes are good for an adult and the prices are fair. Parking is tricky though. There is public parking across Pennsylvania Ave.

The food was great. My 4 year old daughter loves going there is a toy chest kids get to pick a toy from on the way out which is a very nice touch. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Really comfortable atmosphere and fantastic food. Try the sweet tater tots, so good. Most dishes are in the $7-11 range and you get plenty for your money.
