If you are looking for a trendy Asian Fusion restaurant with a modern and sleek atmosphere this place is not the place for you. This is a modest Hong Kong style Chinese food restaurant. I have been going here since I moved to Orland Park in 1985. Our family has our staples: Seaweed Soup Mongolian Beef Chicken w/ Chinese Broccoli Seafood Combination White Fish w. Black Bean Sauce Egg Rolls If you havent been here its even worth going just to try the Mongolian Beef. Also, their Beef Chow Fun is extremely tasty and I have not tried anything like it anywhere else! The environment is nothing special, however the staff and management are characters and are extremely friendly. I have lived in Las Vegas for the last 4 years and when my fiance and I go for Chinese we always say, "its not Hong Min"! I am coming back for a visit in March and I cant wait to eat here!

I am one of those people that try and write if it is good or bad. I wanted to write to correct some of the things I read before trying this place. As you can see by the rating it is OK, nothing special. I got the crab Rangoon on recommendation from a person below. I was very disappointed as there was only A bite of the actual filling. The rest of the Rangoon was bread. Not a great bread it was VERY chewy and hard to rip apart. Like it was microwaved and a week old. I like them crispy or at least not needing so much work to eat. The worst part was that there was just NO filling. For 2 people to eat take out of entrees and 1 appetizer I expected a lot more for bill that was over $30.......

Ive been coming to this place for 30 years, between this and thier old China Town location. I find thier food to be consistently delicious! There are very few dishes here I dont care for, but most of those are dishes I generally dont like. The stand out, for me, is their Hot and Sour Soup. Most places Ive tried it comes out a brown thick broth and tastes like table pepper. Here the base is a homemade hot sauce. It is spicy and delicious. Not blow you away spice but enough to make it very enjoyable! Everything is also served family style so any dish is usually enough to share making this a place where you get a great value as well.

Worst service ever...the food was OK. I had curry chicken puffs and chicken and Chinese broccoli chow foon. The puff was cold in the middle and the chow foon was bland. The broccoli had an almost plastic aftertaste. I waited at least 20 minutes to order and longer to leave. I felt ignored, I was dinning alone and was put alone. It seemed I got service as an after thought, when they noticed the irritation on my face.

Best Chinese restaurant. Tried several in San Francisco and they cannot compare. Used to go to their place in Chinatown till it burned down ( I openly wept in front of the boarded up site). Then finally started coming here when I found they werent going to reopen and it is just as good. Hands down the BEST you will find. And by the way it is over an hours drive to get there and well worth the drive.

Vegetable soup and wonton soup were water and a few pieces of vegetables and one piece of meet the soup had no flavor. Mongolion chicken was so thick it was almost gravy. The mongolian beef was so dry. The white rice was so mooshy, the crab Rangoon tasted like nothing but celery. The almond cookies hard as a rock will not be going back definitely over paid for bad food

The food is great and affordable, 12 dollars about for a meal that can serve 2, and the service was very good. Can do something about the cleanliness though, saw a rat in the parking lot and when you walk in there was spider egg sacks to the right. Once again though good authentic food, duck with seafood was particularly good.

Have been coming back to this restaurant since I came to their China Town location in 1997. I make it a habit to come here whenever I am in Chicago area. My favorite: Beef Broccoli Chow Foon, Salted Fried Smelt Fish, Steamed Lobster with Ginger and Scallion and Shredded Boneless Chicken.

Best egg rolls ever ! Great service great food I have been coming here for years and always the best food the only thing I dont like is the two-drink limit with soda depending on the waiter or waitress other than that I give it 10 Stars

Do not recommend, the food does not live up to the hipe. The food is just good enough to sell not a repeat unless your desperate. Food is expensive for what you get. Crab Rangoon taste like something of inferior quality. Waste of money.

We have enjoyed the food for a number of years. Service is acceptable. The hot and sour soup, satay beef (crispy dry beef), Singapore curry noodles, Japanese taufu and beef Chinese broccoli fried rice noodle - all our favourites.

Good hot and sour soup. Nice favor in sauce in Hong Min Scallops. The pot stickers had a little taste on the outside that was a nice surprise. This helped differentiate them from many others. Not a fancy decor, but great food.

The pot stickers were just okay, but the fried rice was delicious. Ill definitely be back! I cant believe I have lived in the area all my life and only recently tried this place. Dont judge it from the outside -- go in and eat!

Love the food here! I have been eating at Hong Min for at least 10 years or longer now, and I never had a bad take out experience! Highly recommend the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Pineapple and the Beef with Pea-pods!

Its a popular food I grew up eating type of place, but with actual good food. Wife has been coming here for years with her family. We keep coming here time and time again as food is consistently good.

My family has been coming here for years. Always good food and theyve got the best egg rolls in the area. Two of my favorite dishes are the chow fun noodles and the salt pork chops.

My family has been going to Hong Min for a very long time, I finally was able to go and it did not disappoint. Food was incredibly and prices are very reasonable.

Best food around! They could charge more but remain loyal to their large customer base. Relocated from China Town long ago you wont find better Chinese cuisine!
