Food was typical Mexican style and cuisine but not exceptional! The believed owners daughter was very hospitable but her old man the owner was breathing down my neck. I was casually a periodic late night paying customer. The last time I went there it was before 2 AM and I needed to do some work on my computer while eating and I dozed for a moment with my hands on the keyboard and his radar was on me and he instantly came over and slapped his keys on my table and told me I had to leave because I was sleeping! He frequently had after bar closing customers, Latins notably, who laid their heads down on their tables drunk and smelling of alcohol sleeping, not dozing, of whom he made no issue but me momentarily dozing at the keyboard sitting upright was unacceptable conduct! No warnings just wham bam out! He banned me from the restaurant for that! I wished his daughter well and left. This restaurant is not recommended as he profiles non Mexican / Hispanic / Latin customers for special attentions! I suspect that those who have commented here of poor service and substandard food inconsistent with the menu are most likely evidencings of his profiling! If there were negative stars he would get a 10!

Ordered 3 steak tacos celantro, onions and cheese only, no lettuce and no tomato. They were made with only lettuce and tomato, I made a comment that they were made incorrectly and the employee, possibly the owner, said nothing and just looked at me with a blank stare. Also ordered a coke, the fountain Coke was out of syrup, the same man just looked at me until I chose a different flavor instead of changing the syrup or offering me a can of coke and on top of that still charged me the fifty cents for a refill. We dined in but chips and salsa were only given if paid for. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that didnt offer chips and salsa to customers dining in. Overall, the food is just ok and the customer service and hospitality is very poor. Wont be back.

The ABSOLUTE BEST mexican food i have ever had!!! and Ive had alot, probably too much.. anyway the produce they use is NOT like most other places. its NOT soggy lettuce from last night. it is always fresh and crisp on my staeak burrito, even after a 5 min drive home. the steak on my burrito never has those nasty grizzle or hard pieces like most others. its always chared to perfection on the outside, but still tender and jucy like a premium steakhouse on the inside. been coming here a couple times a week for a few years and not 1 complaint! if you like spicy, i HIGHLY recomend the jalapeno poppers!!! i promise, once you try them youll have to order them every time you come here!!

I had this place recommended to me by a friend, and was honestly wary of trying it due to the style of building. Goes to show you shouldnt judge a book by its cover. Ive been back every week at least once since, the food is fresh and prepared on order, delicious every time and the staff is very friendly. They are open late 7 days a week and the quality of food is the same at 2 AM as it is at 2 PM. The horchata is the best in the area, same goes for their tortas. By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Chipotle sucks. Spend slightly less and try El Hogar. Could not recommend more!

I have been a customer for years mostly because it is near home. I have always had my complaints, but yesterday was my last time to go there. I ordered el pastor tacos with crispy shell. The shell was no better than the store bought pre formed ones that taste like cardboard. I looked inside and thought, wheres the pork? Hardly any filling, which is probably a good thing anyway, as it was dry and disgusting. That had nothing on top. No onion or cilantro as they should have had. The sauces are weird too. seriously, I will not go back.

I truly appreciated having a Mexican family owned restaurant with semi decent food in the area, however after a year of consistently messing up orders and skimming on ingredients and today after calling to let them know they had once again gotten out drive through order incorrect and being blamed for the "miscommunication" and then having the owner cuss at me today is the last time we visit this place. I have never written a bad review on a business but then again I have never been cussed at before for voicing a mistake.

It is right near my house... and El Hogar never has disappointed me! Very traditional mexican food. I love the chicken tacos on a soft corn tortilla shell. I always order two, but could order just one (they stuff them pretty well, and are VERY messy to eat but SO good). If you go in during the lunch time, they give you free soup with your meal. Also, the bean burritos are very good. Do not be deceived when they say "mini burrito"! Overall, great value, great flavor. My favorite Mexican place in all of Naperville!

went here to buy just a simple order of nachos. After placing my order I noticed the cashier scratching her scalp and afterwards putting lotion on her hands. When I got the nachos they were the WORST EVER! I still cant tell what kind of meat mixture they put on top of the SUPPOSED BEEF NACHOS. I took 2 bites and couldnt stomach anymore! How can you run a mexican restaurant and goof up NACHOS???? THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!!

Probably one of the closest to authentic Mexican places in Naperville. The tacos are nearly what I remember as a kid. The menudo is very good as well, could be a tad better but it works. Just some real good food here. It looks like the restaurant is an old taco bell but Im not sure. Id recommend this place but remember, this is not Americanized Mexican, this is the real deal. Some stomachs may not take well to the differences.

In my opinion this is the best deep dish in Oswego. I have ordered from here multiple times and have never had an issue. I order online and the pizza is always ready on time no matter how busy they are. Get the pizza uncut (to keep from getting soggy) and the butter crust. The Lou salad is the best. If order from here you will not be disappointed! This is carry out only.

I cant describe the quality of food because they couldnt get the ladys order in front of me correct which was 3 tacos only cheese. I waited 15 minutes as everyone in the drive thru who came after me was served. My lunch was over so I had them refund my money. Terrible customer service couldnt even communicate to me what takes so long for a taco dinner order.
