1 Star truly is an understatement... Just came back from this "Gastro Pub" if you can even call it that. Went there today with an open mind and excited to check them out. Get there and dont even get greeted by anyone and felt very lost. Found a more open space towards the back and felt like It was more of a bar than a Gastro Pub but I digress. I ordered their mac n cheese with a flat bread while my friend ordered their soup of the day with a flat bread as well. Was asked by the "Waitress" (if you can even call her that) If she wanted the soup first or not and my friend said "yes" and then she asks me if I wanted my Mac N Cheese first and of course I did But I was worried about it being microwaved if I asked for it right now but I digress. After waiting at least 40 min for the flat bread I definitely wished I had that Mac N Cheese at that point Ill say that much... While we waited the whole time My "waitress" was eating a few tables away which is torture to say the least. Not one time did she even go to the back to check on our food and before we even had the flat bread the people who were next to us (who ordered at the same time as us) had already finished their entire meals which is an outrage to say the least. We had to leave for other engagements and because it took so long we could not even enjoy our meal. We attempted to address the issues stated above and were responded with lots of eye rolling and empty gestures for example being told "our flat bread are made fresh" and as someone who has been in the food/hospitality industry for 5 years that even if they are made fresh that it should not take 40+ min for flat bread. I tried to talk to the manager and was told "Hes busy" so I will not ever go inside that horrid excuse of a Gastro Pub. I even called and was told the same generic response then called 30 min later cause no one called like they claimed they would and when I asked why no one called I was hung up on. If you want to go to some place that is kinda like the Tilted Kilt and receive worse service/food then definitely go here. All in all there is zero professionalism throughout the establishment.

We got a coupon in the mail for Crosstown Pub for BOGO 1/2 off lunch item, so we decided hey! Why not! It was a bit far for us to drive just for a lunch place when there is so much in Bolingbrook to try, and I wouldnt really say it was worth it. The place was PACKED for 1pm on a Thursday. Everyone must have been on their lunch hour or something, also seemed to be all groups of people. So if you need a good lunch spot/business meeting place, here ya go!! It was a little awkward when coming here for the first time because you just walk in a small door on the side of the building that kind of takes you to the middle of the restaurant. At the time it was "seat yourself" so we did. We picked a decent table against the wall but not tucked away. We waited a looonnngg time to get our drink orders in and by that time we had already picked out our meals as well. The food did not come quick, which was surprising considering how popular the place is for lunch. I got a burger, it was very good, I was able to replace the spicy sauce that came with it to a more mild sauce I could handle. I cant remember the name of the burger but it came with an onion ring and BBQ sauce. I ordered the burger medium and it was cooked perfectly! As my side I picked the waffle fries and they were very good as well but really who can mess up waffle fries. My boyfriend got wings which seems to be a favorite here. They have many sauces to choose from and I wouldnt say he was impressed with the sauce or rub he got (chile lime rub). But theres always next time to try a new sauce. I would say the food is good and the only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because of the service. I know I said the place was packed but it was also packed with staff. Our waitress was definitely attending more to the table of guys right Infront of us. She seemed quite confused when I gave her my coupon, she forgot our carry out boxes and had a hard time cashing us out on the fancy iPads they are using. Maybe we will come back for dinner and see if the service is any better!

Bad experience. I am surprised they get such a high rating. We sat outside which is a nice setting. That is why I gave it a star. I ordered a Stella beer which they told me is on special so get the larger one for same price as the smaller one. Great! When it arrives I can see before I tasted it that it wasnt going to be good. It was in a glass that looked 10 years old and there were no bubbles. Tasted it and knew straight away why they are trying to get rid of it. It tasted like old beer. Anyways. I went for their juicy burger. It says its a 30 minute wait but it is worth it! Well okay, lets go for it. At the end of my order I was told it only comes well done. I was some what confused but I thought this must be then something real interesting and special. Granted I did receive it 30 minutes later but the burger tasted horrible and guess what, it wasnt juicy. It was simply way over cooked with some sloppy cold wet onion strips on it. It was a joke really. I gave up after a few bites and settled for the mediocre fries. My kids had the standard stuff chicken strips, Mac and cheese and fries with fruit. I ate some of theirs because if you remember my burger was a joke. My kids food was standard pub food. No imagination or creativity there either. It is a real pity that the food and drink is real poor here because the outdoor setting is nice. You got to change chef, food and if I took a peek I am sure that kitchen will need a good clean. Sorry for bad review, but I highly recommend not to get the burger, Stella and kids food. Perhaps their wings are good but I wont be going there for a while.

The Burger Guide
The Crosstown Pub is a popular bar in the Chicago Suburb of Naperville. Crosstown serves up premium bar food, and I noticed that everything that walked by looked very tasty. On the menu there are a variety of themed burgers. I choose the Jackalope which featured a premium beef patty, onion rings, shut up sauce (BBQ), cheddar, and applewood smoked bacon. The burger is a classic Western/BBQ style burger and is well balanced. Thick and crispy bacon, tangy BBQ sauce, and lots of melted cheddar are what really stood out to me (It’s hard to deny the tastiness of melted cheddar, bacon, BBQ, and beef). The burger was served with lettuce and tomato on the side, but I opted not to put those on since I think they get in the way of the more enjoyable textures and flavors of the other ingredients. Overall, Crosstown serves up some great burgers and although they are not in the running for the best in Chicago they are very tasty. If you need a great place to watch a game, hangout with friends, grab a drink, and to hear the local chatter Crosstown Pub seems to be the perfect spot. Its got a lot of charm, great prices, and a very entertaining menu.
