This place has amazing food, I had lamb which was well cooked juice and the sauce to die for which matched the mashed potatoes perfectly, at first I was confused about the weird garbish, the shredded dried vegetables but in the end I was sold, with the sauce it hydrates the vegetables and makes them very yummy! My mom had pork shishkabas which she loved, they were large pieces 5 or 6, well cooked and not dry which is hard to do when they are such largely cut! My dad had the American equivalent to beef stew roast pie, which he said was average but when I tried i thought it was really good. It has a bread wrapping on top of the bowl which was nice and crispy. They have multivitamin which wa good, i noticed cranberry juice, kompot (boiled dried fruits which is yummy!) Orange juice. They had dumplings but they ran out, they also have perogies, cherry ones are on point. The decor was beatiful, the table cloth was hand made from Ukraine, chair covers could have been ironed but everything looked great. For it as a venue i noticed they had two seperated room and a nice sized dance floor. It has a bar and out door patio Prices per person if I remember are 67, 82, 102. I recommend this place for venue, i didnt try never been to event yet but this place looks good. This restaurant has so much potential, I will definitely visit agian! The negatives: service was beyond horrible. First of all our server was never in the room/floor. When she brought out food she called out food and asked who had it which was very unprofessional, knowing she had no idea who had what even though she took the order. We were a large group +13. The group didnt get their food at the same time, and some of the food was missing, some of the guest even started to stand up trying to look for the server to ask what is happening but agian she wasnt in the room. Half of the group finished there foods before the last 3 got theirs which was very ackward. There was a server, a male who was on top of his game, picking up his coworkers slack, it was nice to see him speed walking to kitchen, quickly picking up empty plates and helping overall he helped a ton and made the experience more enjoyable. Our server on the other hand didnt even offer refills on the drink ask for desert or noticed empty plates. This might be me going little over board but in our culture the man gets the check, but she gave it to a female, which i thought was really weird but that just me being cultural. What i reccomend, she has potential (maybe) but she needs lots of training on how to be a server. It sounds very negative but other than the service everyone had a great time and plan to visit agian in the future. To the owner good luck!

First time diner here. I noticed this place and diced to give it a try. I entered the foyer and was greeted by my server, who escorted me to the bar area for lunch, which was spacious, and situated away from the banquet rooms. My order was the potato pancakes, along with a cup of beet soup. A few minutes after my order, the server brought a basket of warm, crusty bread, along with butter, and what I presume to be herbed lard, which went well with the dark bread. My soup was brought out, and while I was expecting something more borscht-like, I was not disappointed. It was flavorful, with chunks of meat, potatoes, and a dollop of sour cream. My main course of potato pancakes came out, and it was delicious. Mushrooms were sandwiched between two dense latkes, topped with mozzarella cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette, the acidity complementing the starch of the potato pancakes. When I finished, the server camp up and checked for my satisfaction, asking if it was th e first time I had had Ukrainian food. We talked briefly about the Eastern European foods I have tried, and ended on a good note. Overall, the experience was a good one. I should like to try to this place for dinner, when perhaps there are more Ukrainian options, since the Lunch Menu had more pedestrian fare, like hamburgers and such. I may have missed any lunch rush, as well. When I arrived at 1:30, there were two tables besides mine: one with employees, and another having a lunch meeting. I am currently leaving the establishment alone, hoping this restaurant receives more business. Best of luck :)

If I could give no stars I would! Im currently waiting on my bill at this restaurant. Took over 20 min to order, after going to the bar twice to ask for help. Another 15 min to tell us the food we wanted wasnt available, like a filet mignon. You should probably stock the most expensive item on the menu. Didnt get refills of drinks or bread that we asked for over 3 times. The server/ bartender/ hostess (same person) kept telling us that she was the only person here, there was only one cook, and that she just started that week. After 45 minutes waiting on "homemade food" everything was bland and cold. Ordered their special fruit drinks never got them. When the manager asked how waa the service and we said slow he said its all homemade and takes time.

We were invited to a First Communion get together at Hetman. I really liked the place because it was very Ukrainian, filled with Ukrainian paintings, the service guests were dressed in National Ukrainian clothing and the service was great, the varenyku were even yellow and blue. The food was very good, they had white fish, steak, salads, red and black caviar. The music was only Ukrainian and you could feel the Ukrainian vibe, like in the Carpathian mountains. The flowers were alive and yellow and blue and the plates were very pretty. I am really happy that finally the first Ukrainian restaurant opened!

We went for lunch. We were the only patrons, yet service was slow and inattentive. However, the food was quite tasty. We live cabbage rolls, but no one would bother to order once we saw they were made with chorizo. Definitely not an authentic meat choice. The pierogi was underfilled, but portion was good. Dumplings, corn pancakes and beef stew were fabulous. Kids meals were expensive, but that portion was huge. Overall, enjoyed it. As close to my mom and Babas cooking as I am going to get! My mom, who is Ukrainian, even enjoyed the ambiance and decor and the food.
