Up until recently, my experience has been largely positive: nice beer selection, good pub fare, excellent service. That changed last Friday. A friend of mine and I stopped by after a bike ride. We didnt have locks, unfortunately, so we began to bring our bikes in to ask whether it would be okay to stash them in a corner, as I had done previously. Before we could get in the door, a pair of men, presumably management, informed us that we couldnt bring them inside. My friend joked, "These bikes cost more than your average car!" These two dudes didnt get the joke. "Thats your problem," one quipped. "No problem," I said, "Someone let me park inside before, but..." Before I could finish one of them said something like "Someonell get punched in the face for that." Im certain about the "punched in the face" part. Fine. We left never to return. Two things: be polite. No need to be rude. We werent. Second, violence isnt funny. There are no jokes about that that are okay. Period. In the world we live in where domestic violence, especially violence against women, is a problem, this is unacceptable. Our day ended on a positive note: we were welcomed politely at Emmetts, had our snack and went on our way. Cant wait to go back.

Food: Was okay, Im mean its bar food, so it does the job, but if I want variety or a decent meal, Id go elsewhere. For snacks with your choice of poison, its adequate. Burgers were okay but made me sick, fish n chips were o.k., wings were decent but meat was tough. Drinks: Beer was served with a nice variety, seems to have more bottles/taps than the Des Plaines location. No skunk beers here. Service: Varied. I had one waitress who forgot my wings order, another I had to ask for my bill, and yet another seemed to be more interested in talking than serving...my beer. Hate me if you will, but I on one hand I do realize these ladies are busy, but at the same time, I am the customer, its your job to serve me. No beer for me while you talk to my buddies doesnt do me a good service...let alone a good rating and a good tip. Misc: Decent amount of tables and chairs, bar area is decently set up, and towards the rear of the property is the private area for parties, along with bathrooms, women, men and a dedicated bathroom for the handicapped.

We came in on a Friday night. Cute patio but it was full so we got seated at a huge booth. The beer list is pretty great, they have all of the summer faves plus a couple I hadnt tried before so thats a plus. My husband and I ordered the salmon and the stout burger. Both came out really quickly and both were good. The pretzel bun the burger was on was yummy. They have these great big pickle slices on the burger (I think theyre bread and butter pickles, tasted home made) that gave a nice unique dimension to the sando. The salmon was good, served with rice and an interesting combination of shaved veggies, really tasty. Only 2 negatives and theyre not service or quality related- the a/c was cranked SO high, I always bring a hoody or sweater and I was still cold & the weather was unseasonably cool that day. Also, its really loud due to the rooms acoustics and large seating area so be ready for that. But back to the good stuff- Our server was pleasant, big smile, very attentive. We will come back for sure!

I really like the Tap House - I mildly prefer Emmetts, but its great to have variety in the lineup. I had been unimpressed with Tap House the last 2 or so times I came in, but I think I was ordering the wrong thing. I had been ordering oddball stuff, like flatbreads or macncheese. This is a burger and a beer sort of place. This most recent time, I had sriracha wings. Correct decision! They turned out great, for some absurd pittance like 4,50 for a dinner portion (theyre a daily special). The beer menu is great - Emmetts brews their own beer, but has far less variety. Tap House has ~30-50 beers on the menu. The beers are a little expensive, but ce la vie, its Chicagoland. Tons upon tons of variety. Oh, also, and this is definitely an eew factor in my book, this place gets crazy, retarded loud on weekends. If youre prone to headaches or didnt much like frat parties in college, you may not like this place after 7PMish.

Ive been here twice. Neither time was I wowed. The menu is big, the food is average for the area. The prices are high for both food and beer. A big turn off was when we had a party of 5 and we moved two patio tables together around 930 PM on a Thursday evening when half the patio was empty and we were treated like children. We were told you cant move the tables and our server stood there and pointed out exactly where the tables needed to be moved back to or the fire chief would come and ticket someone. Two other tables were moved in the same position on the patio but for some reason ours couldnt be... The crowd seemed to be mostly 25-30 so it might be a good place to make a connection but its _NOT_ a good place to meet up with 5+ friends on a nice evening on the patio. I see several users posting high praise in exchange for a $10 off deal... My ratings are not for sale.

Restaurant itself is nice with an outdoor patio as well. Large selection of food. Our service was marginal and my food order was incorrect. So I didnt start eating until my others guests were close to being done. I had the very veggie flatbread and it was not very good. For 12$ I would expect fresh mushrooms, not flimsy canned ones. And the sauce tasted like canned sauce so I definitely would not order this again My one guest really enjoyed her chicken sandwich. I would consider going back to try another item on the menu as quite a few sounded good. They also double charged us for my flatbread. Probably a great place to go with friends for appetizers and beers as they have a large beer selection.

Great microbrew tap beer selection. I had three beers I havent seen in other places. The bar area is large, airy and loud - a great place to meet people. If you are coming for a quiet meal, good luck. I sat at the bar with a friend on a Tuesday night...burger night. The farm burger was awesome and only $5. It was cooked the way I ordered it and served with tots. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Nate, the general manager, went out of his way to introduce himself and welcome me to the bar (my first visit). I even got a "gift bag" as a first timer - pretty cool. This will become a local for me.

Ordered chicken finger. One was cooked great and hot. Second was at room temperature. Third was hard. Notified wait staff. She deducted 50% of it from my bill. Other times had not so good service. Been there at least 2 dozen time. Service started declining about 7 months age. I kept going back because the place was great, local, and had lots of great memories with friends. The music was horrible the last time we were there, felt like walking out without paying. Please take this as constructive criticism. I never waste this much time, I only want to see things improve... cheers..
