Probably the most consistently "Good Bar Food" of any bar in the Chain-O-Lakes area. Make no mistake, Choppers is a bar, not a fancy restaurant. Ive eaten just about everything on the menu from Burgers to BLTs to Breakfast and everything is always consistently good. The quality of their ingredients is higher than what youd expect from a bar and everything is made from scratch, even the soups and pizza! Quite frankly, Ive never had a meal that I was not happy with at Choppers. BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN, PERIOD ! ! ! On Saturdays, Sundays or on major Holidays, Choppers has the best breakfast around and breakfast time is definitely kid & family friendly. The Eggs, Omelets, Biscuits & Gravy, French Toast, Country Fried Steak or Chicken are all tasty and always consistent. People seem to come from all around the area and the crowd is fun and friendly. Bloodies, Screwdrivers and Mimosas! SERVICE - The bartenders and staff are also consistent and friendly. They usually try to open up and get to know everyone who walks in, making customers feel welcome. By the second or third time you stop in, even if youre not a regular, youll probably feel like one and theyll likely remember your favorite drink. Food order time is also consistently prompt, food orders are consistently accurate and food quality is consistent, even when theyre busy. PRICES - Food is reasonable (darn near cheap). Drinks are also reasonable. I am a local, but not a native to this area. This bar attracts both locals and travelers to the Chain-O-Lakes area during the summer boating season, as well as the winter snowmobiling & ice fishing season. At times, Choppers can be full of neighborhood locals or a mix bag of people in town for the weekend. Its usually a fun, friendly and salt of the earth crowd. What I like best about Choppers is their consistency, not just in their food, but in the way they promote food & drink specials, as well as events ranging from Bands to Karaoke and even to an annual Chili Cook Off. You can darn near set your clock to Choppers consistency of promotional events, as well as daily food & drink specials...Bottom line, you always know what to expect and its good ! ! !

Our server (female with a mandala shoulder tattoo, didnt say her name) messed up 5 out of 7 orders. Upgraded certain food items making $8 in extra charges. Gave someone who does not eat meat, chilli when she asked for a nonmeat soup. Said she doesnt have a BLT chx sandwich, and yet it was on the menu. Had one of our guests help her carry drinks to the table. Brought out an item wrong and she said sorry I told them to put it on the side but they didnt... you could have fixed the issue before bringing it to the table since you knew it was wrong. Never asked how things were, very unpleasant and definitely one of the worst servers Ive ever had.

Refused service because my ID was out of state, despite this bar being practically on the state line. Just wanted to stop in for a beer and to throw some darts, but the pretentious backwoods hicks refused me because of an out of state ID and would not accept credit cards and other photo IDs as supporting evidence.

I just love this place. Food is awesome. They have the BEST Bartenders in Lake County.....Kim really can make the best Bloody Mary, and Jeremy always puts a smile on our face. If you have the chance, get in there and check them out...You wont regret it.........Lisa and Bobby Johnson

Sat for over an hour waiting for food. Waitress assured us we were next up and then 10 minutes later she informed us that we were no longer next in line. What?! Yeah. So Mauris Cafe in town has served our food in less than 10 minutes for half the price. Eat at Mauris!

Owners are very friendly. Bar manager is Fun and outgoing. Ive enjoyed every breakfast Ive had. They always have sports on the TV show. Today NASCAR is on 2 TVS. Cubs are on 4 TVS and the Sox on another. Great place to take the Motorcycle out for breakfast.

Took a chance and stopped by what we always thought was a biker bar for Sunday morning breakfast. Very happily surprised and pleased with what we had. Omelets were good and service was excellent. Bathrooms clean.
