Snuggery McHenry-Sunday, 9/16/2012: Good Food; AWFUL service, Jennifer; AWFUL Manager, Mark. We went to the Snuggery for lunch on Sunday which we do about twice a month. This time we had seven people which we have done in the past. Our waitress, Jennifer, a very sweet girl with no business waiting on tables, never asked us if we wanted another drink, Brian had to go and find her to request a second drink. We were there for 2 ½ hours just trying to have lunch. Finally after waiting an hour we still did not have any food. Roger talked to the manager, Mark, to see why we still didn’t have our food and why we couldn’t find our waitress to get another drink. Mark got Jennifer to come over and get us drink, and then he went to check on the food. Mark came out from the kitchen and said your food ticket went in the kitchen 43 minutes ago and there are still 3 tickets in front of it and it should be out shortly. What manager would think 43 minutes is acceptable. 15 minutes later six of our seven meals came out. We were almost done eating and Jennifer finally asked if the food was okay. We said we are still missing a meal. Scott was missing his meal, said to Mark, the manager, this is bull…. (This was not right) I still don’t have food and the Mark, the manager, said don’t swear at me. Jennifer brought out a meal, the wrong meal, but he ate it. Mark did not apologize or comp anything and Jennifer did not apologize for the bad service. This is not the way to treat customers. An apology would have gone a long way. We really love the food and usually we love the service. This was an awful experience and I am so sad we were treated so badly. Now, we will have to find another restaurant for our Sunday outings.

Food was good, but the service was aweful. Waited 10 minutes for a waitress to notice us, but no one did. Finally, we got the outside hostess to get us a waitress. Emma came over, took out drink order, and disappeared for 15 minutes. Finally brought us 2 beers. I asked her for a glass for my beer and she said "sure", but after 10 more minutes, I had to ask someone else for it. After more time, Emma came back & took our food order. Someone else brought the order out. I asked for some silverware......that was another 10 minutes, and someone else brought that. Within ten more minutes, Emma showed up again and presented us with a bill. We were still eating!!!!! Never asked if we wanted more to drink, or desert, or more food, or anything!!!! Really????? Needless to say, our tip showed our disappointment.

Sent today to watch footbLl have lunch and a few drinks .... Sat at a table since bar was full .... Sat there for 12 minutes or so no one came up to serve me walked myself to the bar ordered a drink .... Returned to seat at,this time it was midway through the third quarter . Drank that drink then waited again the entire quarter with no one stopping ... Finally I asked if I had sat at a self service table of something .. of course was told Im not your server Ill get her ... Another 0 minutes go by just as I was fed up and decided to return to the bar for my refill a server came up to the table .. seen this one pass by numerous times ... Service Horrible wont return

This is our third year boating at the chain and with the limited amount of food places Snuggery is on our rotation. We are always very respectful, as veterans to our waitresses. Today will be the last time we visit this place. Food is just your ordinary chicken, salad, and burger bar. When we pulled into the docks, 3 employees were smoking in the back area taking selfies for 15 mins. They were confused on where to seat us. It took 45 mins before we got the food cold. Asked for napkins 3 times and it finally came with the cheque. Jacquiline kept walking away everytime we asked for something. Nasty little attitude with a fake smile.

Ok, so its hard to give a rating. Sometimes the Snuggery is terrible. Last time, we had Hannah as our server and shes wonderful and very attentive so Im rating it based only on our last visit because we had such an awesome server. Usually, service is terrible. Super slow. But I love the location and being able to enjoy a nice meal outside. The atmosphere outside is why we come. The food is usually good but a bit on the pricey side. My food was pretty cold last time though. But I know they would have made it right if I had complained. Overall, this place is perfect for boaters and nice days if you are not on any timetable.

I went to the McHenry location twice once on a Monday evening indoor seating and the second Sunday late afternoon outdoor seating. Each time witnessed a table of people leave before their meals because of poor service. We waited 45 minutes for an order to be taken and then another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The second time the drinks were delivered however after the appetizer. The first time food was good even though way too long to get, the second time one sandwich bread was hard/dried out and a chicken dish was cold. Would not suggest for groups bigger than 2 and only if you have lots of time and patience.

First of all, "Google Users" are staff trying to boost the ratings. Second of all, the service was AWEFUL. The girls would rather talk to each other than serve the food and create a better atmosphere. When the food did come out, it was room temperature. The chicken tasted freeze frozen and the soda was flat. This is not just a bad day here. This is an everyday sign that they arent managed correctly or the staff simply doesnt care.

Great atmosphere and friendly wait staff. A good place weather with the family (kids) or out for a night on the town. In the summer we love to sit outside and watch the boats on the river. In the winter its a good place to stop while snowmobiling on the river. The burgers are high quality.

It is interesting to witness how the pervasive waterway is intrinsic to the local culture as boaters from up and downstream sail their way to dinner. Unfortunately, the fare is average and the cocktails just average - typical of a restaurant that banks its fortune on location and not food.

great service with two kids and food came quick! I really enjoyed the widow maker and got a hefty amount of avocado. awesome experience for my family and I. Ive worked in the restraunt business myself and I am not an employee of Snuggery nor do I have any bais.

Best. Place. In Mchenry. End of story. More food options would be nice but the food they do have is very good and great price! WONDERFUL atmosphere and my favorite place to eat in McHenry! Not to mention, having beautiful waitresses are a bonus too! ;)
