My husband and I like a good fried chicken but through the years, its been hard to find a decent place that makes chicken that is tasty - either its greasy, it doesnt taste good, or just somethings "off" about it. And forget the "fast food" type places - yuck!! I work in the Bourbonnais area and live almost 1 hour away. I was introduced to JRs Chicken several years ago through my work and let me tell you...OH BOY! This is TRULY the best tasting chicken I have EVER had - anywhere! I try to eat there once per week now for lunch. The variety is amazing, the food is ALL delicious (never had anything bad there yet), and the staff is truly helpful, kind, and professional. Its clean inside if you want to eat in the dining room, its totally affordable, very delicious, and just is plain "down-home" cooking. Go if you get a chance, or like us, bring it home to the family...they wont be disappointed!!

Well...... First and foremost those who dont know ... The wife and 2 daughters and a Lil guy plus myself and two dogs have recently ended up homeless literally ... To get to the point my family received a message from some one to bring myself and the family to Jrs chicken in Kankakee well wouldnt know it cause i still am not sure who but some one gave us enough chicken an sides for a army and a few nights... Just to give us a warm meal!!! Just to put a smile on my face is what really went on... Seeing my kids full from some good ol chicken literally at this moment in life it brought tears to my eyes ..... Thank you to whoever was involved seriously ...

I have been going to Jrs Chicken for years, ever since they were carry-out only and the building was about the size of my bathroom. Now its in a building thats quite large and very comfortable. The remodeling they did really makes the place look updated. They have the best chicken and are not only famous for their chicken, but their macaroni salad. It is the best youll find anywhere. I go strictly for the buffet and have never been disappointed with their selections. Then if you have room for desert, dont miss trying their tapioca pudding.

Im so excited theres a great local fried chicken place in town. Excited bc KFC can be a joke anymore. Everything here is fresh, hand made, their own recipes its seems. The chicken is amazingly flavorful and juicy on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the inside. Theres definitely something for everyone when it comes to side dishes. And if a side dish is all you want, they sell it by the quart. Our family is a huge fan of their macaroni salad. My wife turned me onto this place about 6 months ago and Im so glad she did. We love their food!

JRs is one of my Go To places. The food is varied, good and fast. The servers are very friendly and helpful, always making sure your dining experience, eat-in or take out, is fulfilling. I especially like the songster on Tuesday nights, it makes it a special night to be seneraded. Thank you for being tucked away in Kankakee. I have also been to the Bourbonnais store and the food there is also very fresh and I couldnt believe how fast it was brought to me. Again, thank you.

I have gone to J rs several times now, everytime I go I try something different. I have had the 8 piece chicken with sides of mashed potatoes and gravy, and hot mac & cheese, I have had the the fish, the salads. I have not had anything that I have not loved. I think everything I have tasted is as good as homemade if not better. The staff is fantastic service with a smile, helpfull, there to make your visit a great experiance.

The new Bourbonnais location is great. Now we can sit and enjoy our meal. The Tuesday night all you can eat chicken really worked out for the guys and everyone had a great meal. Youve even turned dark meat eaters over to the light side with the moist chicken breast. We will return and having two locations to dine is extra nice. Thanks JRs, well keep coming back and bringing our friends.

At the Bourbonnais location. Food is excellent. Clean dining room. Hot fresh food. Try their dinner specials and Macaroni & Cheese. You wont be disappointed. They even have an outdoor patio, for those beautiful days you want some fresh air. They have added a buffet a couple evenings a week. Its a pleasure to visit a business where the customer service is outstanding!!

Going to JRS is like going to a friends house for a meal. Everything is so good. My main reasn for going the first time for was their chicken and cole slaw, but my choices have grown to includes other menu items. We had the pot roast and brought 1/2 of the serving home, and I enjoy left-overs. The service is always great and everyone is quite friendly.

I love JRs Chicken! I always go to the Bourbonnais location due to convenience. The staff has always been respectful and helpful when needed! I always get a dark piece meal with two sides of fries and they are amazingly delicious! Their fries and chicken are both really crispy and still moist! If you have a chance to go i highly suggest it!

I have been going to JRs since they had the little bitty place you could just squeeze into. They have provided the food to many of our family functions, weddings, reunions. etc. If you havent tried the macaroni salad, you dont know what your missing. Its out of this world good. Chicken is fabulous and service is always with a smile.

I said it months ago, and I will say it again . . . Just a good "down home" restaurant with a whole lot of comfort food and friendly staff. With a great and varied buffet along with the daily specials, a person could eat there every day without becoming bored. Keep tellin Jan she should franchise.

Waited 25 minutes for chicken they gave out my order to another person. Did not offer an explanation. I called the chicken was not fresh or really hot. I eat there frequently because there chicken is not as salty as other places. Called and young man on shift had an attitude then placed me on hold.
