From start to finish, this restaurant was a disaster. The air conditioning was on so high, people were actually standing outside to warm up. It took 10 minutes to get someones attention so we could be seated since the concept of a hostess seems to have escaped this restaurant. It was another 10 minutes before we saw our waitress for the first time. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night so we expected some wait, but they were pushing it. We ordered appetizers, garlic bread, which came out in a timely manner but were a bit unappetizing with the LARGE chunks of RAW garlic swimming in the oily mess they had slathered all over the bread. Next came the soup, baked potato, which looked and smelled wonderful right up until my husband ate a spoonful with an unusual garnish - long bits of STEEL WOOL. At this point, I go hunting for the manager. Shes suitably shocked and comes over to speak with my husband. After offering the completely ridiculous excuse of the dishwashers using the wrong scrubbers to wash the giant soup pots (when your customers are eating bits of steel scrubbers for their dinner, you dont offer excuses, you just fix it), she offers to comp my husbands meal. Ok, cool. Then dinner arrived. Two of us ordered the chicken alfredo which on the menu sounded fabulous. The "marinated" chicken wasnt marinated at all, but completely bland, no seasoning whatsoever. It was however nicely grilled, tender and moist. The homemade, fresh pasta that we were so looking forward to was completely GROSS. Too thick, inconsistent, poorly cut and tasted of nothing but flour. Oh, and it was COLD. Which brings me to the alfredo sauce...bland, thick, gelatinous and beginning to separate. But hey, at least it was hot. The other dishes ordered at our table were well received, the ribs and the chicken and steak saluto. Those who got salad liked the dressing and we all enjoyed the rolls. Our server was WONDERFUL. She helped make a disaster of an evening a bit more palatable. She even went so far as to tell the manager that our pasta dishes should be comped as well because the pasta was so awful. We didnt even ask for that, so we thought that was something. So yeah, we didnt pay for any of the terrible food they served, but that doesnt change the fact that overall, this restaurant left much to be desired and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who actually wants to both enjoy and keep down their food (yeah, people were sick afterwards, no joke). Oh, on a final note...when we left, there were several people waiting to be seated in the foyer and no hostess (who was also the manager!) in sight, again. We found her though, hanging around in the parking lot out back. Geez...

have been here a few times before but after my last visit, I will never return. There was a group of 7 of us eating for dinner. Our waitress was very nice but very slow. We sat for about 45 minutes before she took our orders. Three of us had ordered our pasta with garlic and olive oil sauce. When we got our food and tried it, it tasted like they forgot to put on any sauce at all. Unfortunately our waitress never came to check on us. In the 20 minutes of waiting for her return, something worse happened. One of my friends took a bite of her Rotolo and bit into what looked like pieces of wood in her dish. She went to the bathroom to rinse her mouth and spit out a napkin full of pieces of wood from her food! We sat, still waiting for someone to check on us until finally we had enough and had to seek out the manager on our own. The manager did not offer any sort of explanation as to why there was wood in the dish, but apologized and brought a new dish of Rototo. He also offered to bring out more garlic and olive oil for those of us who had the plain pasta, but at that point the pasta we had was now cold, so it didnt do any good. When the bill came, I was shocked to see that we were charged for everything (the plain pasta and the Rotolo). We were not offered any sort of compensation for our troubles (we were there for over 2 hours) or for the fact that his kitchen served a meal only fit for a woodchuck. They clearly do not care for their customers and their food is extremely overpriced for its sub-par quality. I would never recommend this place, and am severely disappointed in our dinner last night.

I came here with a group of people for a birthday dinner. We had 9 people and out of the 9 people, 6 of us sent back our food. I have never done this before in my life. They had to go ask the manager if it was even ok for us to even send it back. Only about half of us ordered something else which was equally bland, overcooked with powdery sauce. Table service was slow. Waiting around 12 mins each time for a refill. We had to wait 20 mins just to get out check and saw that we got charged the side dishes (which we did not eat) from the meal we sent back. Also they had a large sum of forced gratuity on each of our checks. Which I brought up to the manager. She was very rude and made a scene in the restaurant all because I told her the service and food was terrible and I should have a choice how much of a tip I leave. She said because it was a group they had the right to charge us that. (Even for bad service?). Everyone in the group piped in and told her it wasnt right for her to do and eventually she let us leave our choice of amount. And yes people I did still leave a tip just as everyone in the group still did but we werent gonna pay $100+ in just tips for a terrible experiance.

We order takeout a couple times a month. We enjoy the food and drinks and the wait staff. Last night I called in an order for takeout to be picked up at 6;15p, The order was for two rib dinners. Ribs, fries and salad. Paid $45 for the two dinners and brought them home. Unpacked the food only to find out that there were no fries in the bag.I paid for he fries so they should have been in the bag. I do not think is is out of the ordinary to check an order before giving it to the customer, The ribs and salad was very good but it would have been better with the fries. If you order and pay for something then I think you should get it, Dont you? It is not about the money but about getting what you order.

Ive been going to Salutos for decades, and this was definitely one of my favorites for many years. Over time, the quality of the food declined, and many entrees seemed to be prepared ahead of time instead of being made fresh to order. At some point, with the addition of the bar, I started liking the place again, as the drinks were good, the bartenders attentive and friendly, and the appetizers seemed to maintain a quality that the entrees did not. Recently, there seems to be an upswing again in food quality, and I hope that remains and improves as I look forward to adding Salutos back to my list of go-to restaurants.
